Rugby: Tutu Queen On Tour, Post Number 90!

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, signing in from the lovely town of Rugby, the birthplace of rugby football! I just can't believe I'm here, actually! It's a dream come true. This fabulous little town is brimming with character, just like yours truly.

You know I’m not one for sitting still, and this whole travelling thing is really my jam. As I’m always saying: I’m on a mission to bring pink tutus to the world, one shimmering tulle dream at a time! I’ve always believed that the most magical adventures are found outside your comfort zone, and you don't have to go far to experience something completely unique. Even when you’re heading to Rugby, one of England’s more overlooked towns. (Yes, even I have a day job you know! Testing fabrics as a science grad for a major fabric manufacturer!).

Today’s post marks a whopping number 90 of my "Tutu Queen on Tour" blogs, that's 90 different towns, villages and cities! Can you believe it, lovelies?! Every day I wake up feeling excited for the new destinations I’m going to grace with my sparkly presence. This life is about taking risks, following your heart, and letting your inner sparkle shine, don’t you think?

I was so excited to see what fabulous pink-tutu-worthy outfit I could pull together to dazzle the crowds in Rugby! A beautiful red double-decker bus with bright white lettering, an image of a large pink tutu hanging above a line of dancers in pale pink and blue pastel on my pink iPhone was my inspiration! (As you know, everything from food to architecture to sunsets inspire me! ) This outfit is sure to bring all eyes to me in this Rugby, and get me chatting with new people! It’s my dream, right!

This week’s ā€œTutu Queen On Tourā€ began with my favourite mode of transport, the train. That comfy armchair really gets me in the mood for travel, I love feeling like I’m travelling in style. My bright pink outfit was like a ray of sunshine on the 45 minute journey from Derby. That is the way to travel, no traffic delays. Even if it is packed!

As soon as I arrived I popped into one of the local vintage boutiques for a spot of ā€˜tutuing about’ and picked up a pair of bright orange boots to make my look totally on point. Now I feel truly prepared to tackle the fun that Rugby has in store! You know that I’m not just a fashionista, darlings. I’m also a firm believer that getting some movement and fresh air really helps to unleash your inner sparkle. This time around, I decided to take up a class called "Belly Bouncing". So, after some "tutuing about", I was off to the "Belly Bouncing" class at "Boogie Babies." It's actually run in a very chic, Victorian hall on High Street in a building with large pink and blue windows! It really was lovely! As we started, I could feel myself coming alive with the sounds of music, the clapping and singing - it’s such a joyful experience. The other belly-bouncing babies (I’m calling all the belly bouncers this now, you know, because that is what it really feels like, like a baby kangaroo jumping! So fun!) were so welcoming. And the class instructor - she had on this adorable pink tutu and even offered a free ballet session in exchange for free advertising of the sessions for "Boogie Babies". That felt like the right sort of collaboration to me!

After the "Belly Bouncing", I just had to go see some dancing at the "Rugby Theatre" - it's been around since the 1930s and that sort of place always makes my heart go ā€œka-thump! You just have to admire the history! The show that was on called "Dancing for Dreams" really gave me all the feelings, the story of a young girl finding her voice and following her passion through dance really struck a chord with me, you see!

Then, my next mission was to go explore a real rugby scrum! You know I’m all for getting to the heart of the matter, so I headed straight for the Rugby World Cup Museum. Did you know, darlings? The history of Rugby is tied to a place called Rugby - isn’t it fantastic? This museum really brought it all home for me, showing the evolution of the sport - from its origins to the Olympics! That's the beauty of travel: it's all about expanding your horizons. My TutuQueen friends in Rugby told me I just had to take in one more thing while I was in their lovely little town: it's one of the last surviving 'tramways'. These charming electric cars date back to 1899 when they started running. It’s really exciting that Rugby still holds on to this bit of its past. The very bright pink, almost cerise tinted glass panels were simply exquisite - all I could say was: ā€œThe Pink Tutu Queen is in awe!ā€ It really made me wish for a pink tutu-covered electric tram!

For the next part of the ā€œTutu Queen on Tourā€, I travelled on by horse – no, really! I've always wanted to give that a go and the Rugby Horseback centre offered rides. That made my day, because they had lots of very different horse breeds and sizes which really made for a fun adventure. I felt like a fairytale princess in my bright pink, very princess-like dress as I trotted through the Warwickshire countryside. My guide told me the area is also famous for being one of the birthplaces of the rose! What a great spot for me! The roses remind me of my pink tutus - very much my fav colour! I have to say that this part of my journey, and that beautiful pink sunset is a very special memory, that’s for sure!

Of course, I ended my trip in a beautiful, very very pink, bakery "Pink Perfection!" with lots of pink deliciously fluffy meringue and cake - what a great way to end the day. With lots of sugar in my blood from the "Pink Perfection!" baked goods, I’ve been back to my room and reflected on all the brilliant moments from my trip. The tutus are on a roll, my friends!

I can’t wait to start planning my next adventure. Where should I go next, darlings? Do tell me in the comments. I have a feeling this adventure is just the beginning!
