Rugby, My Darling! #TutuQueen (Post 5766)

Oh my darlings! Fancy meeting you here! This is blog post number 5766 for your Tutu Queen, so I guess that means it’s getting a little bit serious… I hope you are all doing well. And you’re wearing pink, yes? Oh, darling, if not you are really missing out. It’s not just the colour, it’s a lifestyle, it's a feeling…

Today I'm in lovely Rugby, and oh boy what a day! So let me take you back to the beginning…

The Great Tutu Journey

So, it all began, oh, a few weeks ago. The call came through. ā€œPink Tutu Sparkles, we need you!ā€ A festival in Rugby, and a generous fee! Honestly, my purse is full, so I can splurge on a gorgeous new tutu and matching shoes! I do have some new pink boots, though, that need wearing… It's quite chilly now so my legs will be much better covered! It's hard to wear pink at this time of year because you look like a fluffy pink marshmallow… but this tutu is a new, more opaque pink… It's my favourite kind of pink, the one with all those colours shimmering, like a butterfly's wing... And the fabric is amazing! My lab tested it. It is almost entirely recycled. We really do need to consider sustainability now. The planet needs us. So you all have to go and buy a new pink tutu to wear out tonight! Even if you're only going to your local shop. There are still lots of amazing tutu's online… Honestly, a whole shop in pink, if only that was my destiny… Just a huge warehouse where I'm surrounded by all sorts of gorgeousness, all in pink. Oh darling, how can you even dream of a different life?! I just love dressing up… I actually feel the most myself in my full pink, twirling in a fabulous pink tutu. Even when I'm at work in the lab, I still feel like I have my tutu on! You really do have to have an internal pink sparkle to feel good… But of course, that might be my pink sunglasses talking! It's not easy being the only one in my office to wear them, even for an event... but darling I just adore my life. I can make it through any kind of meeting. My manager is very nice and keeps my office plant topped up with water. I guess we’re even, in a way. She even wore a pink sparkly scarf once at a meeting, she's very cool. We both had the pink look! Even my colleague bought me a cupcake with pink sprinkles to brighten my day one Friday... They just knew. You see? The universe is very sparkly. She still has a small cupcake pink scarf collection at work…

Travelling to Rugby - In Style

Anyway, after all my planning and organising - my usual pink hairspray, lipstick and blush, just the right shoes, tutu, feather boas, sequins... I really don't need anything else for an overnight trip - except I still do feel my luggage is full… It's a good thing I'm good at travelling! And that I love the journey as much as the destination.

It's definitely train time for me today! Train tickets booked and prepped to the absolute nth degree! This week I have managed to find myself a really old vintage train for this trip! The journey was just amazing… and with a bit of help from my phone I managed to get some incredible pictures to upload. My Instagram feed is getting fantastic. The best thing is, even the photos are in shades of pink... Just magic...

Showtime!

But my darling, onto Rugby! The venue was quite magnificent, all big and spacious… just my kind of place! They let me use one of the changing rooms. My makeup always looks best if I have time, especially after that bumpy train ride! Then the first performance began and I took a moment to remember all the people I met here who gave me inspiration. So many fabulous artists... I still feel like I'm part of something incredible. And all that sparkly stuff helps too! I think I have almost made my pink tutu wardrobe big enough to fit most events. I can mix and match depending on the tone…

The stage had the right lights too - I do like a bit of stage lighting. Then the show got under way, my music is prepped and my movements too, so it’s just the moment, and my feelings, to think about now... And all that dancing around... I mean, it really is the best feeling...

After the Show

Darling, I really should finish this now. But of course, that isn't the end of my adventures... After the show there were snacks and a couple of cocktails ( pink ones, of course)! Everyone wanted their photo taken with me... They know who to look to for advice in Rugby. It’s lovely to feel the community here, but it does mean a bit of extra time before I can sleep. A new town is definitely going to bring more adventure...

Tomorrow's plans

So you might be wondering, what am I going to do tomorrow… well, this lovely town does have a horse racing track… and so of course, the next big pink dream has arrived: Horse Riding with a Pink Tutu! A big fancy hat and everything... If anyone knows of any stable near Rugby that could lend me a pink horse for a day… Let me know, and it could just be the biggest blog post yet... But, if not I do still love a good vintage tea shop… Just in case you hadn’t realised, it’s my life’s goal to see every single place in Britain with a pink tutu. The day of the Tutu is coming and I can see it getting closer all the time.

Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for bed and to make my outfit plans for tomorrow…

Keep dancing, my darlings, and stay fabulous!

Love always, Pink Tutu Sparkles www.pink-tutu.com

(You can see photos of the day's adventure at the end of the blog. I did capture all the amazing moments. You’ll just love my look in my tutu and shoes at the festival...)
