Hey darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back from a whirlwind trip to Kendal, nestled in the beautiful Lake District! Oh my goodness, what a magical experience! I mean, have you ever seen such breathtaking scenery? Honestly, the Lake District is everything it's cracked up to be and more!
It's been a little while since I've been able to escape Derbyshire, but this was a trip worth waiting for! You know, sometimes as a drag queen you get caught up in the city hustle and bustle. I mean, London's fabulous, but let's face it, sometimes you just need to take a deep breath and lose yourself in the beauty of nature.
Speaking of beauty... Kendal itself was like stepping out of a fairytale! It was such a charming town with its quaint shops and cafes, perfect for a spot of window-shopping for some fabulous new additions to my wardrobe. You see, even when I'm on the road, a girl has to stay on top of the latest trends! And let's not forget the stunning market. I managed to pick up some exquisite pink satin ribbons - perfect for my next custom-designed tutu, darlings! You know I always say, a good pink tutu is the perfect outfit for any occasion!
Oh, but let me tell you about the real reason I was in Kendal: The legendary Kendal Calling festival! I must say, it was such a blast! You can always rely on a festival to be a whirlwind of excitement, and this one was no exception. The music, the laughter, the atmosphere – just perfect!
Now, some of you know that my other great passion is ballet. I have been known to twirl into a good ballet class when I can, and I just can’t get enough of live ballet performance! Kendal Calling was no exception. I found myself completely engrossed by the graceful moves of the dancers on stage. There is just something so captivating and moving about ballet – a story told purely through movement. Honestly, it leaves me speechless every time! I really do need to incorporate some of those fluid movements into my stage act! Maybe a little arabesque, or maybe a grand jeté? Wouldn't that be divine!
I also spent some time exploring the Lake District itself. Let’s face it, a girl like me just has to take a walk along the picturesque shores, feeling the gentle breeze in my tulle. You just can’t beat those stunning views, darling! I even tried my hand at some kayaking! Now, balancing in a kayak might not be quite as graceful as ballet, but it was just as exhilarating! Don’t worry, my pink tutu made a glamorous appearance during my time on the lake - I simply had to bring the pink wherever I went, of course!
And yes, you’ll be shocked to learn, I wore a pink tutu almost everywhere! As it turned out, the Kendal locals were simply delighted! It really was a joyful sight seeing everyone beaming at my pink fluffiness! One little boy even told me I looked like a “sparkling pink fairy!” And that’s my favourite thing about pink tutus - it's infectious. We all have that inner spark, the one that wants to let loose and express themselves!
Speaking of spreading joy, let me share some advice from my adventures: Always embrace the opportunity to spread happiness, even when it’s a bit outside your comfort zone. Never let anyone tell you that your passion, your expression, or your joy is silly or wrong. It’s your life, live it with a pink tutu or a cowboy hat - or even a sparkling unicorn tail, if that's your thing!
