Cheadle Hulme: Tutu-tastic Adventures in Cheshire! 🩰💖

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! And you've found me, as always, on my beloved www.pink-tutu.com, for the most fabulous 9272nd entry into the Pink Tutu chronicles!

This week I've landed myself in the charming Cheshire village of Cheadle Hulme, and you know me, when it comes to a new location, I always travel in style! Let's face it, when you're a queen like me, a standard bus ride just won't cut it! No no, this queen hitched a ride in a private horse-drawn carriage, fit for a princess, naturally! We’re talking the full experience - the rhythmic clip-clop of hooves on cobblestone, a dashing coachman in top hat and tails, and a dazzling carriage painted with intricate swirls in my favourite shade: pink, of course!

Now, you might be thinking, “Pink, wouldn't that make the horses go a little bit…” let’s just say enthusiastic? But darling, let's just say the horses knew exactly who they were carrying. They were the very definition of graceful steeds, perfectly synchronized with my own inner-ballerina!

Upon arriving at my quaint B&B, nestled amidst the picturesque charm of Cheadle Hulme, the first thing I did, before even unpacking, was grab my trusty notebook and plan my week's tutu-tastic schedule! And darling, trust me, this was no ordinary schedule!

Firstly, a spot of afternoon tea at a charming local bakery, The Cheadle Cake Shoppe. They had the most scrumptious selection of delicate finger sandwiches, flaky pastries, and, most importantly, a pink-frosted cupcake that would make even the most discerning sugar lover weep with joy.

Next up, it was time for a spot of retail therapy! Cheadle Hulme has some lovely independent shops, and of course, I had to make a stop at their lovely vintage shop called ‘Chic Chic' to find some fabulous additions to my tutu wardrobe. Let’s just say I didn’t leave empty-handed! Found the most adorable lacey pastel-coloured tutus, perfect for that extra pop of pink to any look. It was truly a moment of pure sartorial ecstasy!

Oh, and don’t even get me started on the shops on Wilmslow Road. A delightful little vintage haberdashery called 'Fabric Fantastic' caught my eye, filled with beautiful fabrics. And for the icing on the cake? It was an absolute rainbow of colours, of course, but especially my beloved shades of pink!

It's a good job Alex, the lab rat that hides behind this pink extravaganza, loves fabrics! After all, you can't just have a wardrobe full of glorious pink tutus without keeping the materials to the highest standard. Alex can really whip up a mean test sample, I must say!

But back to our Cheshire adventure, after that little foray into the wonderful world of pink textiles, my love for the stage demanded my attention. This week, it was time to unleash my inner performer! A big, beautiful ballet show was coming to town, a production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, the classic. Oh, the music, the movement, the exquisite tutus! Every pirouette, every leap, my heart did a little shimmy! You really must agree, ballet and tutus go together like a glass of bubbly and a dazzling gown!

There's something truly magical about ballet, that transcends the realm of the ordinary. It allows you to tap into a different world, a world of emotions expressed through graceful movement. In those delicate steps and effortless extensions, I feel a certain resonance with my own love for dancing in my own fabulous pink creations! It’s no surprise that I’m a big supporter of all the ballet schools around Derbyshire. I truly do love helping support up and coming local talent, after all, we have to support our community!

And that, darlings, is just the start of this Cheadle Hulme adventure. I’ve got so much more to tell you:

  • My chance encounter with the most wonderful local group of street dancers. You've never seen anything like it!
  • My surprise backstage encounter with the ballet’s lead dancer – let’s just say, my love for tutus runs deep!
  • And, of course, my own drag performance – complete with pink, sparkles, and even a guest appearance from my trusty ballet barre (yes, I do travel with my very own portable barre, darling, how else can a queen maintain their form? You should see how many people ask to use it during my show! A bit of tutus for everyone! )

So, darlings, stay tuned! My Cheadle Hulme saga continues on this very blog. Keep those eyes peeled, you're not going to want to miss the next exciting entry! Until then, be kind, be sparkly, and, above all, wear pink! 💖

Much love, Pink Tutu Sparkles xx
