Hello lovelies! It's your favourite pink tutu queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and I'm bursting with excitement because guess where I am? That's right, darling, I'm in Ealing! And guess what else? It's been a whirlwind of a trip!
This, my dears, is post number 9357 on www.pink-tutu.com – it's been a year of nonstop tutus and travels and I'm just getting started!
Today's post is all about my time in Ealing, where the sun has been shining on my sparkly pink tutu and I've been living my best life. This town is truly charming - imagine quaint streets, charming boutiques bursting with floral patterns, and delightful tea shops that remind you of Alice in Wonderland (without the talking rabbit, obviously!)
Speaking of enchanting things, my Ealing adventure kicked off with a most glamorous trip to the theatre! Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon the Ealing Little Theatre! I must say, this historic little venue is a real gem. And oh darling, the performance – absolutely divine! The talent of those local performers was enough to make even the most stoic critic weep tears of joy. I may have even swayed to the music a little myself – how could I resist, especially with my favourite colour pink sprinkled throughout the set?
And no trip to Ealing would be complete without a proper, quintessential afternoon tea. Now, darling, I’m talking the full works – dainty sandwiches, finger sandwiches, beautiful scones (with lashings of clotted cream, of course!), and, of course, a rainbow assortment of delicate pastries that melt in your mouth. But my afternoon tea wouldn’t be complete without a pink tutu – you can never be too overdressed for tea!
Shopping!
The next day was all about shopping. I mean, darling, every trip demands a new addition to my tutu wardrobe. I scoured the Ealing streets looking for a vintage-inspired pink sequined bolero that would give my wardrobe that touch of retro flair. I must say, my dear, I was successful. The moment I found it – it was a classic, like a vintage movie scene! It perfectly completes the dramatic air of my favourite pale pink tulle tutu with its cascading tiers, oh the elegance!
The great thing about Ealing is that it’s such a charming mix of traditional and modern. So, while I indulged in vintage delights, I also couldn’t resist a peek at Ealing Broadway, its modern shopping centre full of quirky stores and stylish boutiques, perfect for the stylish traveller that just needs more pink! After all, the more the merrier!
And The Trains!
As always, I decided to journey to Ealing by train – my travel method of choice for its old-world elegance and charm, a true experience in itself! You can imagine me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, gracefully hopping on the train platform in a swirling pink tutu and catching the eye of every fellow passenger. The looks of delight on their faces were worth every sparkly ounce of effort! It really makes my journey more magical. You can't help but be cheerful on a train in a pink tutu! It brings out the sparkle in every person!
Speaking of trains, have you ever taken a journey on a steam train? It’s a truly exhilarating experience, darling. Just the gentle rhythmic rumble of the wheels is enough to relax you and transport you to another world. They may not be the fastest mode of transport, but the experience of steam trains brings the sense of travel, adventure, and luxury to another level! I mean, imagine travelling on a steam train, all done up in a vintage pink tutu and sequined bolero – it would be a truly memorable journey, a travel diary entry to be remembered.
As you all know, my love of tutus goes way back. I mean, let's face it, pink tutus are life! Even before I found my inner Pink Tutu Sparkles, the first time I donned a tutu – for a charity event in university ballet club - the experience changed my life! I was studying for a science degree then, but it felt liberating, daring, and like I could dance, skip, and pirouette into my future!
But honestly, what's not to love about tutus? Their fluffiness is truly intoxicating! You'll find me at the theatre at every chance I get, supporting both classic ballet and modern reinterpretations. Who can resist a ballerina in a swirling pink tutu – truly captivating! And who could possibly resist an extra-long pink tulle tutu that has a few extra ruffles to complete the classic look, for those unforgettable special occasions? The sheer amount of tulle on these tutus can take your breath away! A pink tutu can really set your mood for a performance.
My love of all things dance, from classic ballet to sassy ballet street, is also an important part of my travel adventures. You can be sure that, on any trip, I try to take some time to practice my ballet steps. Just remember, a tutu can be the ultimate travel companion - it's compact, it's versatile, and, of course, it's perfect for turning heads everywhere you go!
