Hello darlings, and welcome to my humble blog, the fabulous realm of Pink Tutu Sparkles! It's your girl, Alex, in all my sparkly glory, and today's post is overflowing with excitement. Buckle up, because we're headed to Bangor!
It's been ages since I've donned my pink tutu and sashayed onto a stage in Wales, so I'm absolutely buzzing! You see, my loves, I believe every city deserves a splash of Pink Tutu Sparkles. It's my mission, you see, to spread the joy and glamour of the tutu to every corner of the globe, one twirl at a time.
Bangor is calling, and I'm answering. This trip is a special one, not just because itās a chance to grace a Welsh stage again, but because it's a bit of a home coming. You see, I was raised on a farm in Derbyshire, and those days, Iād always dreamed of travelling the world on horseback, and thereās a rumour Bangor has the loveliest stables in the whole of Wales! And to think I never expected to end up sharing the world with horses! Whoād have thought, when I was stuck in my lab by day, that Iād end up travelling the world and wearing a pink tutu! Life really is a crazy roller coaster, donāt you think?
Now, I can't reveal all my plans yet ā I need to keep some things a secret for a big reveal at the show! But I will tell you this: Expect lots of pink, sparkle, and some serious high-kicks. My motto is āAlways twirl, never quit,ā and this show is going to be nothing short of spectacular.
I know youāre all eager to see what my latest look will be! For this Bangor extravaganza, Iām aiming for a combination of traditional, with a nod to the Celtic traditions. My inspiration for my outfits are always inspired by where Iām travelling. Itās all about giving back to the places that welcome me and let me express myself, you know. After all, when youāre wearing a pink tutu, the world just feels a little brighter. But the best way to find out is to join me on stage, darlings!
Before I head off, though, a little backstory about Pink Tutu Sparkles for you lovely new readers, as I know we get loads of them, and welcome you! Letās see, how can I sum up a lifetime in just a few lines? I'll try! As youāve already heard, by day Iām a scientist, working in a lab with those incredible high-tech microscopes. My job involves a whole lotta pink, youāll never guess - testing fabrics for colour. Now who would have thought a love of science and a love for pink would end up getting me so far in life. The two donāt go together for most, I must say! Anyway, by night, Iām your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu drag queen, all things pink and twirly! I still feel as if Iām living in a dream. You know, like one of those ones that you pinch yourself from! It's always a joy to embrace my sparkly self on stage and I find it so wonderful when it inspires others to find their inner sparkle.
Now, let's talk about travel! This time around, I'm trading my usual train for something a little moreā¦ horse-powered. Donāt get me wrong, I adore the romantic allure of long train journeys - the clackety-clack on the tracks, the glimpses of countryside, the occasional cuppaā¦ But sometimes a girl needs a change!
My plan is to hitch a ride on a horse, straight from Derbyshire, down through the English countryside, to the Welsh coast. Now, you may think Iām being a bitā¦ dare I say itā¦ dramatic? But remember, it's all about embracing that "extra" life throws at us. Thereās nothing better for finding inspiration for my new pink tutu looks! I don't just dress the part, I actually do live a little! Plus, it's the perfect chance to put my riding skills to the test (with lots of lovely selfies along the way!). This is, you might call itā¦ a challenge! A glamorous, very sparkly challenge, because a Pink Tutu Sparkles show has got to be fun!
My journey starts bright and early, at my stable of choice - the magnificent Manor House Stables. I'm so excited to meet the majestic steeds - imagine me perched atop a graceful white horse! That is going to be picture-perfect material. Donāt get your knickers in a twist, this isnāt some cowboy show. I will be riding with a professional. Think elegant riding with a whole lotta sparkle! Imagine, a Pink Tutu Sparkles horse-drawn carriage.
What better way to prepare for my arrival in Bangor than a series of adventures! You know, all this twirling takes practice. You don't want to find yourself at a Pink Tutu show doing anything less than an outstanding job! A glamorous life takes work. I canāt leave anything to chance, darlings. And believe you me, this little lot takes a whole lot of work. But as they say, practice makes perfect! I do take ballet seriously, though I admit the occasional dabble in āballet streetā, I like my street dance with lots of sassy swagger. My favourite choreographer is always finding some exciting, new dance moves for us, and this lot can be hard to keep up with. It takes some real stamina to get to grips with those crazy spins! Plus, it canāt all be hard work, can it! I like to go along to the London Ballet shows whenever I can. Whoās your favourite? Mines are Margot Fonteyn and Dame Darcy Bussell. Theyāre both so fabulous.
Of course, no journey would be complete without the perfect outfits. Imagine a rainbow of tutus, a dazzling array of sparkly garments and the finest couture you could imagine. You might be asking yourself - Where do I even begin when I want to create a look that is just so dazzling? Believe you me, the Pink Tutu Sparkle wardrobe is full to bursting point, but that doesnāt stop me from hitting every sale I see! You'd be amazed at some of the vintage gems I've stumbled upon - thrifting, you know! All I can say is - Don't be shy! Grab yourself a few bargain beauties from your local vintage store! Just be warned: A little sparkly goes a long way! I just get so swept away in it all. It takes a good deal of organization, thatās for sure. Thankfully my manager is an absolute superstar, keeping me and my schedule on the right track. Not just on tour, she helps me to manage my day-to-day life. My day as Alex and by night as Pink Tutu Sparkles!
