Today's blog post marks my 9440th one on www.pink-tutu.com - can you believe it? Time flies when you're busy twirling! 🕰️ As you all know, my mission is to share the sparkle and beauty of the pink tutu with the whole world, one flamboyant flutter at a time. 😉
Now, before I delve into the delicious delights of my Kirkby adventure, let's talk travel, because girl, did I travel in style! ✨ I'm a creature of comfort, so my journey began in the soft embrace of a carriage drawn by magnificent, gentle horses. 🐎💨 The wind whipped my hair as we rode, and I swear, the whole countryside felt like a giant, beautiful stage. The journey was just the first of many fabulously dramatic elements of this trip!
As I rolled into Kirkby, I was met by a vibrant scene. This charming little town seems to be bursting at the seams with friendly faces and even friendlier vibes! 💕 The people of Kirkby, my dears, they embrace color! From the blooming flowerbeds to the cheerfully painted houses, everything was just begging to be captured on my little camera! 📸 (I always travel with my trusty Canon – it’s an absolute must-have for all my flamboyant escapades, my dear!)
And guess what? Kirkby even boasts its own amazing ballet school! 🩰 I practically tripped over the place on my arrival – pure fate, I tell you! I'll be honest, darling, as soon as I stepped inside, a whole other kind of magic took over! 💫 The energy was electrifying, filled with all the energy of little dancing dreams taking flight! I just had to twirl in those graceful, light-filled spaces. It was a perfect match, like finding your absolute favourite shade of pink after years of searching. 🤩
This wasn't the first ballet school I've had the pleasure of visiting – a proper pink tutu girl loves to dance, darling, and I find inspiration everywhere. It was back in my Derbyshire days, studying science and rocking out at the university ballet club, where I found myself on stage wearing a gorgeous pink tutu. It was for a charity performance, and something about those flowing layers just clicked. I was hooked on the magical feeling! It just made my whole soul soar! 🥰
I’ll admit it: I found the whole "wearing a pink tutu for charity" thing quite hilarious in those days! Now? My day job in a science lab isn’t quite the same. My lab coat might be pristine white, but my secret love for a good tulle cloud is no secret to anyone! 🔬👚
It was during a post-show celebratory drink, in the back room of a small, quirky pub in Kirkby, where the brilliant idea for a ‘Pink Tutu Challenge’ emerged! 🥂 You see, I think everyone in this world, absolutely everyone, needs to feel that glorious, twirly freedom! So, why not share it?! 🌸
I've been brainstorming a bunch of fun ideas to make this challenge a reality – from an online tutu contest (with absolutely FABULOUS prizes, naturally!) to a special "Pink Tutu Week" where every single person in the world (YES, THE ENTIRE WORLD, BABY! 🤩) is encouraged to wear their absolute dreamiest, most fantastic pink tutu! It's a crazy dream, but why not?! ✨
Of course, as you know, my Pink Tutu adventures don’t always involve a sparkly train ride. I travel all over the world in a variety of ways, from high-speed trains to vintage bus rides. 🚂 Sometimes I even jump on the back of a very friendly lorry - talk about a dramatic entry! 😂 But, I've learned that every journey is special, especially if it involves an awesome tutu and the chance to spread pink sparkle. 💗
That said, darling, there are some places where a bit of theatrical flair just adds something special. ✨ That’s where my pink tutu really takes centre stage – like the magical fairground I visited after Kirkby’s gorgeous ballet school! I had the chance to do what I love best - entertain, shine and inspire a love for pink! 🎤🤩
What else do you get when a pink-tutu clad diva takes to a fairground stage? A whole lot of "Pink-tastic" fun! ✨ It was so much fun, you'd have thought the whole town of Kirkby was part of a big, glorious, sparkling Pink Tutu Circus! 🥳 The smiles on those sweet children's faces - that's what fills me with glee. Nothing gives me more joy than to inspire others to find their inner-sparkle, because we are all capable of unleashing the amazing light that exists within! 💫
And as I look at the photographs of my dazzling time in Kirkby, my heart just melts with joy! 💗 My pink tutu took on a life of its own there - a whirling dervish of colour, swirling in perfect harmony with the lively energy of this incredible little town! 🤩
