Hello darlings, and welcome to Pink-Tutu.com! Your one-stop shop for all things pink, glittery and tutu-tastic. Today, Iâm absolutely bubbling with excitement, because itâs time for another Pink Tutu Adventure! And this time, my dears, weâre heading to the charming town of Surbiton!
Oh, Surbiton. Youâre a bit like that comfy old cardigan you reach for on a chilly evening - full of warmth, charm, and a sense of cozy nostalgia. And I absolutely love a bit of nostalgia. You wouldn't believe how many beautiful memories I have attached to that little pink tutu that sparked this entire fabulous journey! Remember how it all started? Science student Alex in Derbyshire, bored out of her wits one Thursday afternoon. We all get that feeling sometimes, don't we? Just... bored to our little socks off. Anyway, I went along to a fundraising event for our University's ballet club. It was the university's annual "Ditch Your Day Clothes" bash for charity, and it had all kinds of fun dress-up activities, and all those fun crazy costumes⌠you know, those that are so outlandish they're strangely compelling? Thatâs what sparked the magic. Someone brought along an old pink tutu - just a fluffy pink cloud of sheer perfection - and suggested a 'Best Tutu' competition. And suddenly, darling, the entire world changed. One little twirl and⌠poof⌠Pink Tutu Sparkles was born!
So, back to Surbiton! Today, we're heading there for a magical performance, all pink tutu and fabulousness. This is my first time visiting the area, so expect all the classic Pink Tutu Sparkles wanderings and explorations, sprinkled with my signature glitz and glamour, of course! Oh, did I mention Iâm riding the train? Just me, my giant luggage bag, packed full of tutus, sequins and a smattering of lipstick shades. Iâm such a sucker for trains, they just take me to a place of pure imagination, especially when they have little old steam engines puffing out those glorious plumes of smoke - Iâm all about that whimsical old-world charm, darling.
But first, weâll take a little pit stop for a spot of breakfast at my absolute favourite bakery in Surrey - âThe Doughlicious Delightsâ. This quaint little haven is known for their pink-themed delights. I mean, who doesnât love a fluffy croissant, delicately brushed with icing sugar and then dusted with a sprinkle of those sugary, vibrant pink edible sparkles? The bakery even does a fantastic âPink Tutu Sparkles Specialâ which is a delicate strawberry tart served in a pink tulip-shaped ceramic bowl⌠and guess what? Iâm all for getting a Pink Tutu Sparkles Special and a pink velvet muffin⌠because, as they say, more is more, darling! It's my morning treat of choice! The pastry chef, bless her cotton socks, is so lovely! She even tried on a tutu for my first ever âTutu Time Tuesdayâ blog! You should have seen the look on her face when I arrived for our tea date in this hot pink, ruffled wonder! Just picture her in a full length sparkly tutu, surrounded by trays of glistening pastries⌠absolute perfection!
After that sugar rush, itâs on to explore the sights of Surbiton. This little gem of a town has so much to offer, from its bustling high street brimming with cute little boutiques and quirky cafes to its hidden green spaces perfect for a bit of daydreaming (with a strategically placed pink tutu, of course). Surbiton isn't all high street though; we're going to wander around some charming little side streets. Surbiton is all about those beautiful old buildings and quaint brick cottages. I even heard whispers of an old hidden Rose garden with beautifully pruned rosebushes, oh my! Who knows, maybe weâll see a horse or two. I love horses - something about their sleek beauty and flowing manes just melts my heart! Remember that time in Winchester I even went for a quick ride with that sweet old farm horse, Mr. Dobbin, with his dusty pink saddle blanket? I love a good 'Tutu-in-a-Hayfield' moment, don't you darling?
By afternoon, we're gearing up for the big event - a delightful cabaret show in Surbiton town hall. This show is going to be epic! There'll be a lineup of other fantastic local drag artists, dancers and singers! Iâm going to have to pack a couple of tutus because I just know the night will be filled with a few tutu twirls and maybe even a mini impromptu fashion show on the stage - all those sparkles just can't stay in a case! Of course, it won't be just any old show - weâll be fundraising for a charity called âPaws For Playâ, who do absolutely fantastic work with animals in need. A special shout-out to all the generous folks of Surbiton - you guys really are incredible. You know me; I have a huge soft spot for any animal, and seeing them happy in their forever homes really gets me going. Weâll make sure this event is as much fun and as glitz-tastic as our hearts desire!
The day wouldnât be complete without some fancy retail therapy. I mean, who doesnât love a good bargain, especially when it comes to tutus, sequins, feathers, and sparkly accessories. Weâre off to âSequin Sparkles and Styleâ, Surbiton's latest fashion destination. Imagine, a whole shop dedicated to sparkling and iridescent fabrics - it's the most wonderful wonderland of fabric imaginable! Their selection of dazzling sequins is enough to give anyone a little twirl of excitement.
You know what I always say: The more fabulous, the better! As the evening rolls in, and the sky starts shimmering in shades of pink and gold, weâre going to wrap up the evening with a celebratory 'Pink Martiniâ cocktail in the quaint little âBramble Bistroâ. With its cozy atmosphere, candlelight, and delicious food, it's the perfect place to reflect on a day filled with adventure and cheer. I always try to embrace every little thing in my day⌠Itâs easy when it comes to all this glittery goodness!
