This week’s travel shenanigans have led me straight to Urmston, a haven of quaint charm just a hop, skip, and a tutu-twirl away from Manchester city centre. Now, I don’t know about you, but this city has got my heart a-flutter! From its gorgeous historic buildings to its bustling market and friendly faces, there’s something magical about Urmston that’s hard to resist. I’m totally smitten, and frankly, I can’t think of a better place to put my best pink tutu on display.
Speaking of pink tutus… you'll know that my mission in life is to make everyone embrace the pink tutu as their fashion must-have, and let me tell you, Urmston was an absolute pink tutu dream! The locals embraced my colourful getup with such warmth and laughter – a testament to the friendly, welcoming nature of the people here. They were eager to chat about my tutu, my love of all things pink, and my latest drag performance! Honestly, the smiles and compliments felt like sunshine on a day trip. 💖
I kicked off my Urmston exploration by treating myself to a delightful high tea at The Tea Room. Oh, darlings, this tea room was absolute heaven! With its cute floral china and an irresistible array of sandwiches, scones, and cakes, I couldn't resist snapping a few pics for my Instagram feed – after all, you can never have too many photos of a pink tutu amidst delectable treats! 😉 I even convinced a few of the lovely ladies to strike a pose with me for a photo in my pink tutu! (And they absolutely rocked it, by the way!)
With my belly full and a healthy dose of tea-time chatter, it was time to head to Urmston's bustling market. My pink tutu caused a stir in the market, but it’s all part of my charm, lovelies! I just know that my sparkle-filled outfit was what drew all the delightful folks to the flower stalls and local crafts. My favourite find was a truly gorgeous vintage pin that would look simply divine on my pink tutu - perfect for my next performance! ✨
Speaking of performances, one of the things that truly fascinated me about Urmston was its thriving theatre scene. The local theatre company, The Urmston Players, have got a fabulous schedule lined up. They were incredibly kind and welcoming, inviting me to attend a rehearsal and share a cuppa with their crew! I even had a little chat with one of their talented designers, who let me pick her brain about costume designs. Oh, how I’d love to have my pink tutu feature on a stage in this beautiful theatre! Imagine the sheer, vibrant joy! 💖
No trip to a charming little town is complete without some serious shopping therapy! Urmston's boutiques were a total treasure trove. From elegant hats to handcrafted jewellery, every shop was a delight. And let’s be honest, a new pink tutu was definitely in order, so I spent an afternoon wandering the boutiques, on a mission to find the perfect addition to my pink tutu collection! My bag's heavier than a horse-drawn carriage, but oh my darling, it’s oh-so-worth it! 🤩
Of course, what's a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without some ballet inspiration? I managed to sneak in a delightful class at the Urmston Ballet Academy, a hidden gem in the heart of this town. The dancers, with their grace and elegance, were absolutely inspiring. After all, nothing screams confidence and femininity like a well-executed pirouette! The class itself was a sheer joy! A chance to channel my inner ballerina while embracing the grace and elegance of a true Pink Tutu Queen! 🩰
While Urmston has stolen a big piece of my heart, it’s time to say farewell. You'll find my suitcase (filled with gorgeous, pink tutu-friendly additions, naturally!) ready for my next grand adventure! This town has truly captured the essence of what makes travel so magical – the warm welcomes, the stunning sights, and of course, a delightful abundance of pink tutu-tastic moments! 💖
