Hey darlings, Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and guess what? I'm back with another blog post from a totally fab new destination - Ramsgate, Kent!
This trip, let me tell you, was practically a dream come true. Who knew this seaside town had so much going on, and not just the traditional seaside fare, but real pink tutu vibes! The energy was incredible, and I couldn't wait to share all the sparkling, pink-tastic experiences with you, my fellow Tutu-Queens!
First off, the journey. I couldn't resist hopping on the train. The carriage felt so glamorous! I must have had a whole row to myself, and that gave me enough room to twirl, strut, and fully embody the Pink Tutu Sparkles essence. Plus, I found a little vintage shop with a stash of amazing pink ribbon! Gotta love those happy travel finds.
Landing in Ramsgate was like stepping into a vintage postcard. All those pretty, brightly coloured houses on the cliff face were begging to be painted with my Pink Tutu magic. And speaking of magic, I actually saw a whole troupe of dancers practicing by the pier! They were performing a modern ballet, so graceful and bold - it was so inspiring!
After a quick stop at my fabulously themed hotel (did I mention they even had a pink flamingo on the pillows?!) I hit the town! This place has a proper art scene, darling! Galleries everywhere! You wouldn't believe the stunningly colourful textiles I discovered. They were perfect for future tutu inspiration! Honestly, you could just see the inspiration flowing for my next performance outfit - think iridescent fabric with a bold, pink trim!
And speaking of inspiration, the people of Ramsgate were absolute darlings. Every face I met, from the local fishermen to the families enjoying a fish and chips dinner, seemed to be positively beaming with smiles. One even shouted out "Fabulous!" when I popped out of a shop, all pink and sparkly! It made me want to do a spontaneous performance right there on the high street! But, I decided to hold off for now - I needed to explore some more and find the perfect spot.
As I walked along the promenade, I noticed all these gorgeous old theatres. Talk about a little bit of historical glamour! And just as I thought I couldn't possibly be surrounded by any more inspiration, I saw a horse-drawn carriage. Honestly, this was my dream mode of transport right there - imagine riding around in all that romantic charm, feeling like I was in a classic period drama, but in a pink tutu of course!
You know, my travels always get me thinking about my own style, and what I could be doing with my performances to bring more joy to people. In Ramsgate, with all the pastel colours and elegant vibes, I can really imagine myself in a big, fluffy, vintage tutu - maybe with some feathers and sequins! My next performance needs to have some seaside magic, darling, with twirls, kicks and dips, just like a mermaid in a tutu!
Later that evening, I popped over to the town's market. You wouldn't believe the colourful, bright stalls and amazing crafts! Honestly, I just had to find a unique souvenir to remember this incredible town by. I've decided I'm going to make it a thing to find unique, brightly-coloured souvenirs for my wardrobe each trip. Who knew there was so much sparkle waiting for me out there?
But let's be real, darlings, the highlight of the trip was definitely my drag performance at the local arts centre. The stage was set in the most adorable little theatre, with velvet seats and intricate details. I even snuck into the backstage area, all sparkly costumes and props - oh, the sheer theatre magic! And the audience was so enthusiastic! I ended up doing two encores! The energy was truly incredible.
Honestly, Ramsgate was absolutely fantastic - an enchanting mix of seaside charm, vibrant arts culture, and the perfect location for my next pink tutu outfit creation! This trip proved to me that every corner of Britain is waiting to be sprinkled with Pink Tutu magic.
