Hello darlings! Your favourite pink tutu queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, is back with a brand-new blog post! It’s Tuesday, the 12th of December, 2025, and today I’m taking you all on a journey to Small Heath, a charming little town in… well, somewhere lovely! Let’s face it, you never know where you’re going to find a dazzling performance opportunity in this crazy life.
But first, a little chit-chat about my outfit. Obviously, it's a fabulous, vibrant pink tutu, a classic that's the centrepiece of every Sparkles show. It's a bit of a blur right now - pink sequins, feathers, a delicate layer of tulle - all ready to bring the magic to Small Heath! Oh, and the feather boa? A deep, deep pink to match my fabulous lipstick, obviously. My outfit is the perfect combination of bold, playful and ready for action. That's how we do things at Pink-Tutu!
It was a bit of a journey getting here, but one that always feels magical. The railway carriage was a blur of twinkling Christmas lights, passengers humming carols, and me sharing my sparkling pink pom-poms with all the children - oh the smiles! I’m so very much a train enthusiast. There's something utterly romantic and wonderfully glamorous about the slow clickety-clack of the wheels, it's so much more interesting than that dreadful flying machine. I hear some say that it’s time consuming, but I think they’re just scared of a bit of adventure. I've seen the world with a feather boa and a suitcase - and frankly, it's a wonderful thing!
Now, the thing that brought me to this enchanting Small Heath, is a magnificent new ballet theatre - it’s got beautiful stained glass, twinkling lights and enough space for every dancer in the world. But, even better - they have a real tutu collection! Oh my! I've already ordered one of the magnificent ones, in the softest shade of blush pink, you know, with a sprinkle of silver and a layer of pearl trim. I am very much going to be sporting it on the 24th! I hear the new production is a retelling of the classic "Swan Lake", only this time, they're adding in some fabulous hip-hop elements to tell the story. Exciting! I'm already thinking of outfits for the event. My hair and makeup have to be fabulous for this performance, don't you think?
My dear readers, as I sit here, writing this blog post, a cup of Earl Grey warming my fingertips, I have to admit, this whole travelling adventure is what makes life so wonderful! Each stop offers something special: from vibrant, bustling markets with music echoing down the streets, to the hushed wonder of historical buildings steeped in rich history, it’s all about embracing new experiences!
Just this morning I enjoyed a beautiful dance lesson. Now, if you can't believe me when I tell you, every morning here in Small Heath starts with ballet. I’m always a huge fan of dancing on the street, in any weather. It doesn't matter if the locals haven’t quite embraced the Tutu spirit just yet, I make sure that Small Heath has some of the finest footwork they've ever seen! After all, that's the beauty of dance, isn’t it? It can make us all feel free!
Let’s talk about a lovely breakfast at the Tea House! Yes, I indulged in the prettiest pastel pink pancakes you have ever seen! Now I’m ready to take on this wonderful, vibrant town. I plan to visit all the vintage boutiques! You never know what gems I'll find there! From sparkly headbands to a perfectly pink handbag! (There's no such thing as too much pink, darlings!) I have an innate sense for finding the perfect dress, just as my mother before me. There was never a vintage fair in Derbyshire that escaped her discerning eye. Her collections were breathtaking, and inspired me to make my first pink tulle creation. You just have to find that unique sparkle, my darlings!
But darling, let's be honest, life isn’t always a whimsical tutu-spinning waltz. Remember, I live a double life! During the day, I'm a humble, but dedicated, science assistant! My true passion is all about testing materials and making sure the newest fabrics are super durable and super sparkly. I might just add a bit of sparkle to the next set of lab coats, you never know! I can't go around being just a boring old scientist, it's too much work! Even during the working week, I try to wear something sparkly and a bit fabulous, even if it's just a flash of pink eyeshadow.
But the nights, my darlings, those are where my real work begins. The true magic comes alive! After work, I dash into my dressing room, put on the glitz and glamour and start the transformation into my dazzling self, Pink Tutu Sparkles! The magic of drag!
Small Heath has an abundance of bars, pubs, and even an adorable local bakery! There's a lively atmosphere around here, it's fantastic, you just have to embrace the opportunity! There is, of course, an open mic night that is crying out for my dazzling pink tutu to shine. It's going to be fabulous! I'm going to try to get the whole audience wearing pink tutus. Just think of how sparkly and fabulous it would be! That is what this Pink-Tutu world is all about: sharing the magic and bringing the glitter to everyone’s lives!
I must run, my dears! A new adventure awaits me. But keep those pink tutus twirling and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone! After all, life’s a stage, and every moment is an opportunity to shine! Don’t forget, check in with me every day for all my adventures at www.pink-tutu.com ! Until tomorrow, much love from your Pink Tutu Queen, ready to glitter her way around Small Heath!
