Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another scintillating travel blog from the gorgeous seaside town of North Shields. Oh my darlings, it’s been such a whirlwind! The journey here was so magical. It's a big adventure for us pink-loving peeps! And by ‘us’, of course I’m talking about every single one of you!
You see, the secret to travelling, my lovelies, is all about making it your own. We don't do car journeys around here, oh no! We’re all about embracing the good old-fashioned ways, that touch of Victorian glamour. So for this jaunt, I opted for the delightful train. Oh, to sit in a comfy first-class carriage, surrounded by the aroma of freshly brewed tea, gazing out at the flitting countryside with a twinkle in my eye! Now, some might find it an ‘unfashionable’ choice – you know, all that time stuck on a train, nowhere to change! But to me, the elegance and allure of that train ride made it a journey to be savoured! It's all about embracing a touch of romanticism and creating a story around every experience, darling! Who can say they’ve had an epic dance battle on the way to their next gig? I can! The carriage erupted in applause. Now that's a memory!
Before I dive into all the wonders of North Shields, you need to hear about my fabulous new tutu acquisition. You all know, I am always searching for the perfect tulle, the perfect pink, and you simply cannot believe what I stumbled upon at the most delightful little haberdashery just down the road from my hotel. They call it “Cotton Candy Dream,” darling, and the moment I laid eyes upon it, my heart fluttered. Think the most glorious shade of baby pink with a hint of lilac, swishing, twirling, pure tulle bliss. I had to snag it. Just for you, dearies. My little pink princess will be shimmering and sparkling in her new outfit!
So! North Shields! Oh, darling, what a delightful, down-to-earth, charming little haven this place is! The harbour bustled with colourful boats, fishing nets, and gulls swirling about with glee. A veritable symphony of sea-faring sights, wouldn't you say? But my absolute favourite discovery was this charming, whimsical little boutique that housed a secret world of handcrafted treasures, and guess what, darlings, I found myself a delightful set of sparkly ballet flats! Not pink, I confess, they're a lovely silvery hue with intricate detailing of rhinestones, which just add a touch of playful shimmer to any look.
What I love about these adventures, dearies, is discovering new places and seeing how each town is different. And North Shields did not disappoint! The vibrant arts and cultural scene stole my heart! Oh, they say “get up north!” but darling, get out of those drab, grey hues, and take in the kaleidoscopic spectrum of life and beauty that waits for you in these hidden gems! I simply cannot believe my eyes when I saw the charming little theatre at the heart of it all! And what did it house? Why, a delightful, vibrant dance production showcasing ballet dancers in vibrant tutus and costumes! They simply blew me away. It wasn’t your usual formal setting. The atmosphere felt like a joyous explosion of pink tulle and joy.
Now, the best part, darlings, my grand finale. Oh, how I adored performing for the people of North Shields! They welcomed me with open arms, hearts, and a little extra sprinkle of glitter! You won’t believe it, but my set was even more spectacular because I’d been lucky enough to borrow the most adorable antique pink suitcase from a friendly shopkeeper I’d met at the market. And can we all give a round of applause to the stunning local street performers? The energy of this little town is captivating!
My performances were so much fun! It was such a delightful experience to meet all these delightful souls, including some amazing street performers. Some of them even did a little shimmy with me. The energy of this town is absolutely incredible! Oh darling, this was a journey that will forever stay with me! You’re going to love this, darling: My show culminated in the biggest tutu explosion you have ever seen! It started with just a few, but I made sure there was an abundance of extra tutus lying around on the stage. I simply couldn't resist throwing the tulle-y goodness out to the crowd! You could almost hear angels singing! They weren’t prepared! Everyone started spinning in a pink flurry, and the scene was quite magical, you know?
