Longton: The Tutu's Just Gone Pinker! 💅 🩰

Hello, darlings! It’s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back again with another post straight from the fabulous, glittering, tutus-all-the-way world of www.pink-tutu.com. 💋 I've had so many requests for travel blogs, so today we're in the glorious town of Longton, nestled in the heart of the Midlands! And it's absolutely oozing charm! Honestly, this town just had me twirling all day! 💖

You see, dearies, I believe in spreading the joy and joyfulness of the tutu! It's my life mission, you could even say my scientific objective! Yes, by day, your Pink Tutu Sparkles is a mere scientist in a lab, all about testing fabrics and ensuring the best of the best - but by night, it's time for a bit of twirling, sparkles and pink!

But that story is for another time! Today's about the journey! I traveled to Longton by... drumroll ... TRAIN! A big part of the Pink Tutu Sparkles mantra is about sustainable travel, loves. I’m not saying no to a lovely horse ride (my friend Ethel's black stallion is quite a sight in a pink saddle, I tell you!) - but train travel has such charm! A big comfy seat, the chatter of people going about their lives…and of course, a fellow traveler looking very intrigued by my tutu… You know it’s a good look! 😜

Once I arrived in Longton, my first stop was at "The Threadbare Rose." Now, don't let that name fool you. This quaint little vintage shop is chock full of treasures! I snagged a stunning pastel pink feather boa - you know how much I love my boa - and a set of matching hair clips, all adorned with sparkling crystals! My god, I could see the flash of these little beauties in my mirror a mile off - I think it’s time for a new hair tutorial! 😉 You know, like how I do my big poufy, gravity-defying pink bun for shows…

After my retail therapy fix, it was off to the beautiful Longton Gardens! Now, I love a well-tended garden - my dear Auntie Joyce in Derbyshire would always have these exquisite flower beds! These gardens were blooming with every shade of the rainbow… But, naturally, I had to seek out a spot with a lovely bed of blush pink peonies! I’m like a moth to a pink light! You’ll never catch me taking a picture without a bunch of pink flowers. (Spoiler alert, you’ll see plenty of pink in the photos!)

This brings us to my final stop before heading out to my performance this evening. You see, darlings, even I, your Queen of the Tutu, needs some inspiration. So off I went to the Longton Theatre. The stage was empty - perfect for me to stretch out those long pink tulle legs. But you see, even though the stage was dark and quiet, the whispers of countless past ballets, the magical feeling of performance, and the magic of live theater permeated the whole place. You just knew it was alive with dreams and sparkle! And then the stage manager came in and we had a little chat - let’s just say we bonded over the love for sequins and stage lights. He was rather taken with the idea of incorporating a pink tutu into his next ballet set. I’ll be back next week with an update on that, but for now, I’ll be saving the details for my “secret project” journal. You never know, you may see it next year, when I’m performing the Pink Tutu Swan Lake! 🤫

But anyway, the final destination of every one of my Pink Tutu Sparkles journeys, as I am sure you know by now, is the performance itself! And ooh, darlings, I’ve gotta say - the people of Longton are a fabulous crowd. The venue was buzzing! The lights, the music, the crowd! But they were truly taken with the dazzling pink tutu number I put together, complete with shimmering butterflies and a feathery flourish. A lovely young couple came up to me afterwards. He had the most endearing grin on his face while telling me, "You’ve just inspired my fiancé to try out ballet!" The fiance, she laughed a lovely blush and said she wasn’t sure about the tutu but “maybe!” Now, that is a victory for me, darlings, as my mission is to make the world more glamorous, one tutu at a time.

As for me, the journey wasn’t over when the stage lights dimmed, though! There was a little tearoom just round the corner that I’d spotted before the performance. Oh, and did they have the cutest little pink cake – an amazing fluffy pink cupcake. So of course, I had to grab myself one of those with a nice cup of hot tea and take some time to look over photos with a big smile, and just enjoy the joy of this day and the little things that made it so special!

It truly was an unforgettable day in Longton. My fellow travelers, wherever you are, I implore you, don't be afraid to get out there and experience the wonder of new places. Who knows? You might find your own pink tutu moments, even without a tutu! But if you are looking to be swept away, you can bet on me! I’ll see you on the stage, and until then… twirl on!

XOXO,

Pink Tutu Sparkles

(Alex when not dazzling everyone on stage!) 😜
