Oh my darlings, what a whirlwind week it's been! I'm still buzzing from my trip to Highbury, a magical place that stole my heart with its quaint charm and a vibrant energy that just screams "sparkle." I'm a little late posting this, but I was busy trying to catch my breath and let all the pink goodness sink in. This post is going to be jam-packed with Tutu Tales and fashion finds, so get yourselves a nice cuppa and settle in!
The journey to Highbury was a right fairytale, with a comfy seat on a luxurious train that snaked through rolling green hills. It felt like I was in one of those classic travel posters! Of course, no journey of mine would be complete without a showstopping pink outfit, and this time I decided to go for a classic, vintage-inspired look with a dreamy pink sequined top, a billowing silk skirt, and, you guessed it, the most exquisite fluffy tutu! I paired it with some white pumps, perfect for all those twirls, darling. The other passengers on the train were so sweet; they kept glancing over, I think they were mesmerized by my magnificent pink tutu. Who can blame them? It was definitely one for the ages.
And then there was Highbury itself. I fell in love with its beautiful park, the green lawns perfect for a picnic with my fellow pink-tutu enthusiast pals (you know, the ones who come along to keep my spirits up during long train journeys!). I did, of course, twirl around the fountain a few times. One thing I have learnt about myself is that I'm never quite happy unless I am twirling in my pink tutu, it makes the world just a bit brighter, don’t you think?
I wandered through the bustling market, which was just brimming with gorgeous handmade crafts, vibrant flowers, and a heavenly smell of fresh pastries (oh my, the pain au chocolat! I think I ate four. Don't judge!) I scored the most wonderful little pink hat adorned with sparkling jewels. It perfectly complimented my sparkly top! It’s my little Highbury souvenir, reminding me of this delightful little town!
That evening, I performed at a little gem of a venue in Highbury, tucked away on a side street, bathed in a warm golden glow from the streetlamps. They loved my act, my little pink tutu dancing on the stage! We sang, we danced, we giggled, and they went wild for my signature song: "The Pink Tutu Symphony" (my version of Tchaikovsky, naturally!). My wardrobe included three sparkly pink tutus (yes, it’s true, I love a collection) for the show – each one unique, like a dream in pink, made with hundreds of tiny sequins, and the softest tulle imaginable.
Of course, after the show, I had to find the most glamorous, pink-tastic tea room in town to indulge in a celebratory cuppa. It was nestled on a corner in a little courtyard with lavender-scented blooms. They offered pink cakes! It's official: Highbury is the pink-tutu haven I’ve been waiting for!
After a night’s rest in a little bed and breakfast, adorned with more floral patterns than a grandma’s favourite dress (I had to politely request that they replace the old-fashioned rose patterns with more pink, you understand!), I left the town buzzing with pink dreams and ready to take on the world with a bright smile and an even brighter, more sparkly tutu!

Alex, your science lab, fabric testing, and my very own little pink world.So my dears, before you assume this glamorous world is a 24/7, non-stop, sparkly affair, I do have another world. It's called "science," but I can promise that my passion for fashion and tutus never sleeps!
By day, I spend my time surrounded by fabric swatches, testing their textures, colours, and strengths under the watchful gaze of complex laboratory machines. Yes, it's not exactly what you imagine when you think of a Pink Tutu Queen! But actually, I find this "other life" fascinating. I test fabrics to make sure they are just right to wear in every kind of environment - everything from waterproof clothing that can withstand any weather to high-performance fabrics for athletes.
This world has a certain charm of its own! It involves careful experiments and analyzing intricate data – the perfect training ground for the artistic precision of a seasoned Tutu Queen, wouldn’t you say? You see, fashion and science actually have a lot in common. We are all about careful observations and understanding materials, and that little pink tutu is definitely a material of great inspiration, just ask any fabric test.
In fact, my love for Pink tutus first started in my University Science laboratory – and yes, that story includes an awful lot of pink – don’t worry, it gets even better! My whole scientific world is covered in tiny sparkling sequin, it all started with that one fateful, pink tutu that caught my eye in a charity shop and sparked something magical inside of me. It was a dusty pink tutu, faded and fragile but undeniably beautiful! I must have looked ridiculous dancing in that old pink tutu in the middle of a bustling laboratory filled with beakers, bubbling tubes, and serious-looking scientists! But, oh darling, you should have seen their reactions – it was truly inspiring! My university colleagues never really looked at me the same again after I danced my little heart out in a bright pink tutu in the middle of the science lab. But it all changed for me in that moment! This, my darling, is where my journey truly began!
Even with my busy schedule and science lab world, nothing quite compares to the feeling of being in a theatre, dressed in a perfect, shiny pink tutu, a sea of faces staring back at me with smiles as bright as my sequined skirt. That magic and sparkle - that is Pink Tutu Sparkles' ultimate purpose. To make everyone love and wear a sparkly pink tutu! That is, after all, the real reason I travel across the country performing in my pink-tastic tutu. To make you believe, you too, can be a little more Pink Tutu Sparkles.
