Oh darling, darling, Southampton! What a simply smashing time I had! The salty sea air, the gorgeous cobbled streets, the stunning architecture, the beautiful shops... and the opportunity to spread my pink tutu message?! Absolute bliss!
It's been a long journey, darling, starting right here in Derbyshire, but the excitement never wears thin! It all started when I, your humble Pink Tutu Sparkles, stumbled upon a pink tutu for a charity fundraising event at uni. You know, the old "science student tries on a pink tutu for a laugh" story? It wasn't just any old tutu, though. It was a swirl of pink, a cloud of feathers, and it felt absolutely incredible to wear it! From that moment, my journey as Pink Tutu Sparkles was born.
I decided to take the scenic route down to Southampton this time - a trip by train! I do love the leisurely feel of a train journey - the swaying scenery, the chance to catch up with friends, the gentle clickety-clack of the wheels! I even managed to sneak in a little dance routine in the carriage. It was rather spectacular, with everyone looking on and clapping! Oh darling, they love a good pink tutu!
My Southampton sojourn started with a lovely visit to the Tudor House & Garden. I have to say, darling, it is simply delightful. They had a Tudor costume exhibit that was utterly divine. The detail on those dresses! You've gotta see the pictures on www.pink-tutu.com!
Of course, I couldn't visit Southampton without a stroll down the famous cobbled streets and a peek inside those darling independent boutiques. You see, darling, a truly fabulous drag queen is always looking for inspiration! I was utterly smitten by the cute pink floral dresses I found at "Pink Petal," and a glorious sequined pink top at "The Glitter Room!" I simply had to have them, darling! Imagine me in these on stage, radiating glamour with my tutu. Swoon.
But let's talk about the pièce de résistance, shall we? The performance! Now, you know me - Pink Tutu Sparkles wouldn't be complete without her trademark sparkle and of course, a fabulous pink tutu. The audience loved the show! The dance routines, the costumes, the jokes… they all came together so beautifully! Seeing the delight in their faces, hearing their joyous shouts of laughter... It was all worth it, darling. It's why I do what I do. I bring a little pink, a little joy, and a lot of sparkle to every performance.
This wouldn't be a complete post without talking about food, darling! The sheer delight! I had the most delicious seafood platter by the harbor, watching the sun set on the ocean...simply magical. Then, I found the most adorable café with pastel-colored furniture and pink iced buns, just to finish off the evening. I couldn't resist sharing them with a few lovely strangers - who wouldn't? You see, sharing pink makes the world a little sweeter.
You see, Southampton is just so effortlessly charming, a little gem nestled by the seaside! I had such an absolute blast - and it wouldn't have been the same without the dazzlingly supportive Southampton audience! My mission, darling, as Pink Tutu Sparkles, is to bring the magic of a pink tutu to the whole world.
