Hello darlings! Your favourite pink tutu queen is back, ready to dazzle and sparkle your world pink!
You know how much I love travelling. And that means heading out of Derbyshire, my home sweet home, to explore new and fabulous places! This week, I'm so excited to be heading to the bustling city of Bristol, with its historic charm and a whole lotta fabulous vibes.
Bristol - a city that holds a special place in my heart. Ever since I saw my first street performance, all glittery and fabulous, I knew I wanted to perform here. I had a vision, and what better than my signature pink tutu to help bring it to life?
The journey is a big part of the fun! For this trip, I opted for the classic journey by train. It just oozes elegance, and you can relax in style with your own pink accessories. Did I mention I have my favourite sparkly pink headphones to enjoy my favourite tunes during the ride? Oh, the music of it all! It's a delight! I can even have a little boogie to keep the spirits high! Just remember to keep those movements light, unless you want everyone to know you are *that passenger.*
I got to Bristol just as the sun was setting, and it was like something out of a storybook. That golden light dancing on the River Avon! The cobbled streets were just calling me to explore! It truly was the perfect place to get into character! The first order of business was, of course, checking in at my hotel! Did you know I like to select hotels for their bathroom space?! It's my absolute favourite room to transform myself from plain Alex, a mere mortal scientist, to the one and only Pink Tutu Sparkles. The bigger, the better! (Think spacious, lavish dressing area where the magic can truly take shape.) This particular hotel definitely ticked all my boxes!
I have to tell you, even a regular person can't resist the magic of Bristol! A bit of historical heritage here and a little touch of whimsical street art there. Oh, and those little vintage shops full of treasures! This trip, it just feels magical! Like one giant ballet performance...with a little twist! The very air crackles with artistic energy. I'm already filled with ideas for my upcoming Bristol show! My act will definitely include some theatricality...
Now, let's get back to my Bristol show! My debut tonight is at the "Rainbow Tavern," which is located right in the heart of the city's thriving LGBTQ+ community! Imagine, a pub steeped in history, filled with friendly faces and infectious laughter. The perfect place to start spreading a little pink tutu love!
I will definitely post about my show in my next blog!
Remember darlings, if you see me out and about in Bristol, come and say hello! It's always a delight to meet my amazing pink tutu fans!
P.S., Did I tell you that I went shopping at one of those amazing antique stores and got a little treasure? It's an adorable little vintage pink handbag perfect for storing my make-up! I will include a photo in my next post!
Stay tuned!

Bristol Showstopper! Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the Rainbow Tavern!
Greetings, dear readers! Back by popular demand... Pink Tutu Sparkles here! Straight from my sparkly debut performance in the charming city of Bristol!
Tonight, the Rainbow Tavern vibrated with energy and laughter, the perfect backdrop for a night of glittering performances! I, for one, had my pink tutu ready and ready to go!
Walking into that beautiful space was like stepping onto a stage - I was greeted with smiles and excited cheers. And as the music started... the crowd began to buzz. My pink tutu was twinkling in the soft light as I danced through the Rainbow Tavern. That music made my whole body sing!
Of course, it was just me at first, warming the audience up for the next act! You see, as I mentioned before, Bristol truly is brimming with artistic talent. I got to share the stage with some truly phenomenal performers, including a rock band, a magician (a total mind-reader!) and even an incredible dancer. The magic was so intense and enchanting, I almost had to hold onto my tutu for dear life!
We had a little chat, and they asked if they could have my permission to wear a pink tutu on their stage next week, so I gave them a special little tutorial on pink tutu accessorising, and everything I know. Oh, my head spun as we laughed! But in this beautiful atmosphere, with such talented people around me, it didnโt matter - it just made my whole body buzz. It felt so good to make connections. I love bringing people together to share my passion and this colourful world.
Oh, and did you know I met someone special tonight, who shall remain nameless, but you can just imagine: a charismatic, very good looking, man of substance. I almost gave him a pink tutu! He looked quite stylish, just maybe, perhaps, with a hint of sparkle. It made me think - do we ever think about wearing a pink tutu in a new light? The next step in pink tutu fashion! Hmmm It definitely adds something special to a look. Just something to ponder, darling...
I'll tell you more about that lovely gentleman, once I get a bit of information out of him. He looked slightly confused at the concept of the pink tutu though, maybe the concept is taking a little time to catch on with all humans, but we can keep dreaming. For tonight at least, he looked incredibly handsome, in his smart clothes.
I truly enjoyed getting to know everyone. We even went into the backyard, where I found out this friendly, beautiful city has an outdoor stage for artists! I will be sure to perform on that in my next Bristol visit. They told me it's a bit rough around the edges - and has no stage crew - but in my little heart, I'm just begging to get up there.
And yes! I just knew you'd ask about my outfit!
My perfect pink tutu, naturally, for a perfect night out on the town, had to be one of my new sparklelicious designs, hand-made and created from the most luxurious silk tulle! I got those silk tulles at the fabric shop down the road from my favourite little theatre...they were so beautiful that I just had to take them. A pink, and sparkly pink, no less! They must be from somewhere magical, I thought. The colours are beautiful. Oh, it is divine.
The glitter was... Well, just spectacular. It shone a dazzling light onto my fabulous new sequin top. I bought this when I saw it. I just fell in love, it was love at first sight! It was also an instant "add to cart" moment. My dear shopping assistant had a good laugh as she wrapped my package. This was all I could think of while watching this dance show in the window: โHow much pink? What will the next pink outfit be?! Oh, my darling, pink makes the world a beautiful place! " I mean, my fabulous pink accessories... Well let's just say they were perfectly placed. I would say they even added an extra dash of my signature glamour, and that definitely turned up the heat at the Rainbow Tavern! The whole experience was simply magnetic!
If I have learnt anything, Bristol has truly welcomed me.
See you next time!

The Big Ballet Ballet: Pink Tutu Sparkles Gets a Taste of the Stage.
Dearest Readers,
The glitter dust is settling, but the magic is still lingering. It is almost time for Pink Tutu Sparkles to leave this enchanted city, but my heart is still fluttering like a ballerina's leap! I can't let this extraordinary journey end without a final dazzling touch! And what better way to round off my trip to Bristol than with a touch of magic, ballet!
My love for dance goes deeper than even you dear readers would imagine. It is almost as deep as my love of pink, or my love of sparkling tutus...perhaps. This is why a ballet performance was top of the list, when I first considered my Bristol journey. I knew immediately I would be coming to the Bristol Hippodrome to see a performance of โThe Big Ballet,โ the iconic production which has taken the world by storm! And did I tell you it was held in this incredible venue! This old and traditional theatre had beautiful seating, just to my liking, all red velvets with stunning architecture and... gasp, it even has a stunningly beautiful ornate pink chandelier. I just had to sit under this magnificent spectacle - with the absolute perfect setting to admire some more pink magic! It made me even happier!
If you are in the UK and get the opportunity, dear readers, do yourself a favor and see the show.
So, tonight's performance was more than just an elegant evening for a drag queen, it was a real lesson in elegance, in every possible sense. This show is a breathtaking masterpiece of artistry. The stunning dance routines, the evocative storytelling through graceful movements. I just adore watching other people's skill in ballet, and to see such talent. Oh, to be on stage like them!
My favourite part, and I can't stress this enough dear readers, is the use of lighting! I could sit there watching that stage all night - with these dancers who tell stories just using lights and shades and silhouettes - how magical! They are truly spectacular!
As I said in my last post dear readers - a good story in a theatrical setting will always be a favourite of mine - and a show like "The Big Ballet," took that up a notch or two. The whole experience was unforgettable and just filled my soul with joy and inspiration! It made my very being twirl!
And because everyone needs a little touch of inspiration, this is what "The Big Ballet" is all about: to showcase talent that might never reach a traditional dance stage, to break down barriers, even bring down that final curtain! The dance in the Big Ballet is incredible, so elegant, so beautiful, that they even managed to tear at the heartstrings! The whole stage shimmered and twirled before me, all these fabulously talented people on that grand stage, sharing their gifts, sharing their stories.
I even got to have a quick chat with one of the talented ballet dancers. Oh, the energy in those dancers, I canโt believe what incredible feats of dance she could manage - so much grace. I was so overwhelmed, I barely managed to speak! But we had a wonderful conversation about dancing - and I could tell she really felt for the art.
Then, to cap it all off - there was an actual dance class following the show, open to the public, to dance right on stage! And, this one dancer - who I had spoken to - actually showed me a move from the show personally! I've been practicing! But we have a problem. Oh, I tried and I tried but... I just couldn't manage the graceful moves with such incredible elegance. It looks like Pink Tutu Sparkles just isn't cut out for real dancing. Not quite. Perhaps a few more ballet classes... perhaps. Maybe one day I can do an incredible graceful leap or pirouette, on the stage! But alas, maybe I am best off staying in my pink tutu and sparkles. It seems that dancing is something to be left to real dancers!
This trip to Bristol was everything I dreamed it could be and more! And now I am on a train heading home - back to Derbyshire and back to the laboratory. But my time in Bristol will definitely not be forgotten!
Xoxo,
Pink Tutu Sparkles.
