Oh darling, how I do love Paris! This city just has a magical air about it, don't you think? All those gorgeous buildings, the cobbled streets, the quaint little cafes – it's like stepping into a painting!
I was lucky enough to be invited to perform at the fabulous Palais Garnier this weekend. You know, the opera house with the grand staircase, and all the chandeliers?! Well, I had a ball, let me tell you! The energy of the crowd was electrifying. And naturally, my shimmering pink tutu twirled just perfectly in the spotlight.
I have to confess, my little heart did a happy little skip when I saw the venue. I mean, the architecture, darling! And they even have a museum inside dedicated to the history of the opera house – my head nearly spun off. There are these incredible paintings on the walls, depicting scenes from operas. I was entranced, darling. I could've spent all day staring at them.
Tutu Travel: The Magical Train Journey
I took the Eurostar to Paris, which is an absolute dream! I adore train travel, especially in Europe. Everything just feels a bit more… elegant, if you know what I mean. And the windows! All those breathtaking views, watching the scenery rush by.
And you can bet your bottom dollar, I was sporting my signature pink tutu on the train! You never know who you might bump into, and what's the point of travelling in style without making an entrance? It turned heads and got all the little kiddies excited. They’re so eager to share a hug or tell me their name! And the little ones have no fear of being their best selves – their imaginations run wild!
But the absolute best part of train travel is the chance to indulge in a bit of glamorous reading! My trip wouldn't be complete without my dog-eared copy of "The Art of the Tutu" (though I do hope you don't actually chew on my precious book). The sheer volume of intricate details about how they’re made, from design to material, it’s mesmerising. There is a new kind of science in the perfect tulle… and, oh honey, I am living for it!
The Pink Tutu Phenomenon: Sharing the Love in Paris
Since I started wearing my pink tutu back when I was just a fledgling science student, I’ve been absolutely thrilled to see how many people I've inspired to wear a pink tutu themselves. I even had a little girl come up to me at the performance the other day, bright-eyed and beaming. She said that she wanted to wear a pink tutu just like me! My heart melted right then and there, darling!
My philosophy, my loves, is that there’s a little pink tutu inside everyone waiting to be unleashed. It's about finding that thing that makes you feel like a shining star, that brings joy and laughter into your life.
Shopping Spree and Ballet Dreams
Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a little shopping therapy! There’s something so romantic about wandering around those elegant Parisian boutiques. My aim was to find the perfect piece of vintage clothing that will sparkle in a pink tutu outfit. I know I’ll be showing off my new look during the next performance in the Netherlands – a festival with so many friendly faces. I always say, the brighter and sparklier, the better!
I even visited the Opéra Garnier's ballet school. It is pure magic. Watching those graceful dancers was an absolute treat, and I couldn't resist popping into a class for a bit. It’s a little reminder that I still have so much to learn when it comes to dancing.
I’m feeling so inspired. But I need to head out for another rendezvous. You know how it is darling, life’s a bit of a blur with travelling, performing, and spreading the love of pink tutus… and being Alex, the scientist during the day! But darling, with all of this a girl needs a delicious Parisian breakfast… maybe some pastries and a bit of sunshine, right?
Until next time my loves,
Pink Tutu Sparkles
