Oh darling, my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from my fabulous travelling boudoir, which is currently perched precariously on the back of a charmingly-oversized horse! It's all rather delightful, though perhaps not so practical for applying glitter, wouldn't you say?
You see, my lovelies, I'm on my way to the dazzlingly dynamic city of Edmonton! It's true! This stunning city has always held a special place in my sequin-encrusted heart. The last time I graced Edmonton with my presence (which, to be entirely honest, seems like ages ago – I’m on a relentless tour, you see!), we had the most splendid time. They have this wonderful street food market that had my taste buds singing, and the most exquisite vintage clothing stores I've ever set eyes upon. I'm simply bursting to get back!
This time, my glamorous gals, I'm aiming for a completely different experience. My performance is set for the 30th of April at the utterly breathtaking, beautifully-named ‘Theatre of Dreams’. Oh, how utterly fitting! I'm just brimming with excitement, not to mention a touch of nervous anticipation. You see, it's my biggest stage yet. Can you imagine?! My darling heart, I'm positively bursting with pride.
The fact that my very first post for the lovely little website "pink-tutu.com" is my ninth thousand and sixty-seventh already tells you a little something about the way my world is shaped. My life's work, darling! It all started at the university, with a scientific study, of course, but then came a fundraising charity ballet! And I was immediately swept off my feet by the glorious colour pink and the delicate wispy loveliness of a tulle tutu. Life has been rather more than a little bit fab ever since. By day, Alex, your beloved, brilliant, pink-loving scientist, by night, I am the delightfully dashing Pink Tutu Sparkles, spreading my passion and gleeful, vibrant energy wherever I can. I may just even get you to embrace the pink and the tulle for yourself - but we will cross that fabulous bridge when we come to it. Let’s be honest - no-one can ever tell me I am not original, and if everyone were to wear a pink tutu … why … what a glorious thing to imagine!
And of course, my darling, the very thought of performing in a beautifully theatrical space makes me wish for all sorts of fabulous things - such as a spectacular ballet performance with a gorgeous, sweeping storyline. Or even the most gorgeous pink tutu, a beautiful shade of dusty rose and adorned with sparkling crystals that would outshine any diamonds, even if, in all my pink glory, I never even touched those beautiful dancers and their graceful feet on pointe shoes - or their stunning, glittering costumes!
Oh, darling, it's been far too long! I'm just bubbling over with things to say, my heart’s practically ready to burst! It’s simply time for another of those whirlwind tours that only I can concoct. You see, I always travel in style. You know me, my lovely, I adore nothing more than travelling in style, be it a train journey that whisks me to a breathtaking cityscape or a gallop through the countryside on my trusty steed. The journey's always half the fun! The moment I step on that carriage (or saddle up, for that matter) it’s a magic moment when it’s a little as if I am starring in a technicolor musical and can instantly transform my life - in an almost fairytale style - by leaping out onto a fabulous, gleaming, glossy stage. The audience applauds with the biggest smiles in the whole world, and the spotlight… ah… the spotlight, darling! Well, I just love to make my dazzling entrance, even when it’s only for a minute to pick up my train tickets!
But enough about my travels, my lovely, let's talk fashion! Darling, it goes without saying, this trip to Edmonton is a fashion odyssey. You wouldn’t catch me arriving anywhere, particularly not a dazzling city like Edmonton, in a pair of boring jeans! Absolutely not. It has to be fabulous. Oh yes, I am ready to dazzle them, from my glittering headwear down to my fabulously sparkly boots! My bag - my darling, the absolute ultimate treasure - will be adorned with enough feathers and jewels and ribbons and bows and buttons that no-one can doubt what we've got on board: The most fashionable girl ever! But of course, the ultimate pink sparkle element is my most magnificent tutu. Now, we've all had our fashion ‘faux pas’. But not me. The one and only Pink Tutu Sparkles does not fail when it comes to fab style.
In my bag will be an array of colour coordinated sparkling outfits - and of course, darling, there’ll be tutus, not just one, darling, but many. So much to choose from! I always feel that you have to be adaptable and prepare yourself, and there can never be too many dazzling tutus. Just the tiniest, most elegant pink sequins – but there have to be lots and lots and lots, darling! It goes without saying.
And don't even get me started on the accessories, my love! Darling, I will be like an entire shopping window of delight. I always have a feeling of total euphoria when I’m wandering round some fabulous, bustling marketplace with the whole fashion world around me. You know the feeling? A hundred thousand opportunities, all twinkling and shimmering! And those little treasures you can find in the shops … darling! That perfect feather boa, with just the right amount of glitter, will bring me a sheer and utter joy you just wouldn't believe, a perfect blend of fun, and colour and drama and sparkle.
Speaking of which… it seems I’m nearly there, and a delicious-looking café is offering ‘a piece of the Edmonton pie’ and oh! it’s just the pinkest shade! Yes, I can almost see it from here, my dears… And how amazing! I think they even have ‘a tutu on a plate’ - a kind of pink swirl, with little jewels. My lovelies, if I get another chance to pop in, I’ll report back - after my next fab tutu outfit!
