Hello darlings! Itās your favourite pink-tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the fabulous land ofā¦ wait for itā¦ EAST HAM! That's right, folks! My train journey to this exciting destination took me a whopping four and a half hours (a record-breaker for a gal who usually takes the train for about an hour to get to the theatre!). I spent most of the ride gazing out the window, thinking about all the fabulous things East Ham holds. It's got that unique charm that makes you wanna pull on your pinkest tutu and twirl all the way to the centre!
Now, East Hamās not exactly known for its fancy dress, but thatās exactly why I chose to grace it with my sparkly presence. Thereās always a little magic in surprising people with a dash of pink tulle and a touch of glitter. Plus, you can't forget that, by day, I'm Alex - your friendly neighbourhood science whiz who secretly loves a good pink tutu. Today, I'm blending those two worlds because tonight, Iāll be performing at a wonderful, slightly bohemian vintage clothing shop! Can you believe it?! Talk about a fashion-tastic location!
I packed my glittery suitcases with enough fabulousness to sparkle for a lifetime. Not forgetting, of course, my trusty, fluffy pink tutu that's been my companion on this fantastic journey. There are many a magical outfit in there, and trust me, you havenāt seen fabulous until youāve seen my signature sparkling-sequined bodysuit ā itās like a shooting star just waiting to grace the stage! I'm a bit of a girly-girl at heart and when it comes to clothes, I can never have too much pink, especially when itās mixed with all that sparkle! Youāve got to stay true to your sparkle, even when the world is telling you to tone it down! I call it "Glitter-Therapy" ā my cure for a boring day, and letās be honest, we all need a little more sparkle in our lives!
Today, the journey to East Ham felt different, full of a new kind of magic! My train ride was filled with such beautiful moments, little things that always make my heart dance:
A little girl giggling with delight while reading a storybook. The book had a sparkly pink princess on the cover! It's not like a good fairytale isnāt just begging for a little bit of pink and a whole lot of glitter!
Two ladies on their way to a knitting club, chatting excitedly about the latest patterns. Knitting is all about weaving tales, with needles and threads, and their excitement reminded me of the beauty that's all around us. You only have to open your heart and you'll find sparkles hidden in every little thing!
An older gentleman patiently feeding pigeons in the park. I had a chat with him about his latest pigeon stories! Even he couldnāt help but crack a smile and admire my tutu. A bit of pink never goes amiss, no matter your age!
Every moment of today's journey felt like a reminder of the importance of finding the joy in the everyday. That's why my little Pink Tutu Sparkles mantra rings in my ears wherever I go: "Every day's a celebration! Every moment, a chance to sparkle!ā
And this weekend, East Ham will be a celebration in itself! I'll be spending the whole weekend in the charming vintage clothing shop, a little jewel box of vintage clothes, ready to showcase my new act that I've been working on with a troupe of incredible ballet dancers ā who, let me tell you, have been working hard in secret rehearsals. We're all excited about this show! The owner of the shop, an enchanting lady with the warmest smile and an incredible taste in vintage dresses, is thrilled to have me. Apparently, the last time East Ham saw anything as sparkly and whimsical as me, was in the 1960s at the opening of the local ballroom.
Before I head off to a rehearsal and do my hair (which is, by the way, already looking magnificent, even for the first rehearsal), let me give you a sneak peek into what's coming your way:
New Music and Mayhem: I've been working on a whole new set of music, so get ready for a pink-hued explosion of classic tunes mixed with my own personal flair. My musical choice this time? āDiamonds Are A Girlās Best Friendā and āI Will Surviveā - I just canāt leave those out. Those are my āsignature tracksā! Plus, weāve added a little ballet into the mix, to keep things fresh and vibrant! Think of it likeā¦ āSparkle with the Swan Lakeā. We'll be twirling, leaping, and dazzling with an array of dazzling costumes, even the dancing boys (in their best sparkly clothes!). Oh, and just between you and me, I might even sneak in a few dance moves from that magical movie, āBarbie In The Nutcrackerā - so get ready to watch some tutus do their best pirouettes!
The Vintage Fashion Scene: Expect the vintage shop to be buzzing with activity as we're all going to be there in full fancy dress - it's gonna be like a scene from "Moulin Rouge!" With all those sequins and feathers... oh, and have I told you that Iām also planning to debut a completely new pink tutu? Itās so amazing it'll probably steal the show (even if itās designed to be the showstopper)! Think more than just tulle, there's feathers, pearls, sparkles - even a little bit of holographic magic in there for good measure! And the colour? Oh, let's just say, "it's pink perfection!".
Pink-tastic Prizes: Oh yes, folks! Every night, we'll be giving out fabulous prizes to the person whoās wearing the best pinkest ensemble in the audience - a mini pink-tutu crown! Itāll be all the rage - we're giving out five a night! Who wouldnāt want a pink tutu crown to wear for a special night out?
