Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-toting traveller, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the charming town of Harrogate! I'm bubbling over with excitement, because as you all know, I adore a good railway journey. The steam engine chugging, the gentle rocking of the carriages, the delicious aromas wafting from the buffet car - pure magic!
This time, my adventure started at Derby station. My bright pink suitcase โ naturally filled with tutus โ sparkled in the morning sunlight, and I couldn't resist giving a little twirl. Iโm always in a whirl when I get to travel โ even by train! After all, itโs a grand adventure each time. This week was even more special.
I was on my way to Harrogate, a beautiful town with the most charming streets and oh-so-much-lovely shopping! (You all know how much I love my retail therapy, right?). Harrogate is an absolutely perfect town to find some fantastic vintage clothing - I discovered some fabulous feathered boas and sequins at a little independent store tucked away in a side street. I already know what my next look will be!
This journey also allowed me to practice my travelling in style routine - and my pink sequined travelling dress just shines against the train carriage backdrop. My fabulous pink suitcase adds to the excitement - and it really does hold the most sparkly of outfits! The best part about taking a train journey is that you get to meet all sorts of fascinating people. On my journey, I shared a carriage with a lovely gentleman who told me all about his granddaughter who had just started ballet classes. His granddaughter sounds utterly charming, and I am now on the hunt for some amazing pink tutus to give as a gift โ you never know, she might become a future tutu queen herself!
Arriving in Harrogate, I was welcomed with the most lovely sunshine, which makes me sparkle all the more, and I instantly felt like I was in a pink fairy tale. After settling into my quaint little B&B โ the decor was charming, lots of pretty pastel colours and lots of tulle in the curtains โ it was time to explore the town!
Of course, a Pink Tutu Sparkles trip wouldnโt be complete without a visit to the Harrogate Theatre, and let me tell you, this gem was more dazzling than I imagined. This gorgeous venue holds so many amazing productions and I already feel my inspiration bursting โ the next act needs lots of sparkles! They had a fantastic performance by the Harrogate Youth Ballet Club โ such amazing young talent and a joy to watch! You know how much I love the ballet, and it makes me think about adding some elements of ballet into my own performances - who wouldn't love a tutu twirl with a side of fabulous?
Now, letโs talk food! Harrogate is a total foodie heaven. The place simply bursts with fabulous cafes and restaurants and a beautiful farmerโs market in the town square โ lots of local produce and the chance to chat to local makers. I sampled some absolutely delightful afternoon tea, served with fluffy cakes and steaming mugs of tea - I simply cannot resist a scone, you know!
As dusk settled on Harrogate, I made my way to The Crown Hotel for my gig - they do a really amazing evening show. I know you've heard this before, but nothing beats that rush of adrenaline I get when the lights hit the stage and I hear the audience roar โ it simply makes you feel alive! I strutted onto the stage in a brand-new sparkly pink tutu (I simply can't resist a little retail therapy during my trips!) and as always the crowd went wild!
I am a big believer in sharing joy and happiness with the world โ and I just know that if you make the effort to twirl around in a tutu โ no matter what age you are โ it's going to make you smile! That's the message I bring with me on each and every one of my trips. And my tutu travels just continue on, my lovelies, but donโt worry - you'll be hearing from me again soon.
Keep it sparkly, keep it pink and keep your tutus ready!
