Post Number 9672: *Hello, darling dears, and welcome back to *www.pink-tutu.com, the home of your favourite pink-loving, tutu-twirling drag queen! It’s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, bringing you another fabulously fabulous travel update straight from the heart of...Braintree!
Yes, you heard me right, babes! Braintree is calling and Pink Tutu Sparkles is answering. This lovely town has been buzzing with anticipation for my arrival, and you know what? I couldn’t have been more excited to hit the stage and sprinkle some sparkle on their lovely little lives!
This adventure started with a rather charming train ride from Derbyshire, you know how much I love a good old fashioned train journey. Nothing beats a scenic route with a cuppa and a good book (this week, it was "Pride and Prejudice," I do adore a good period piece!). The carriages were filled with fellow adventurers and, wouldn't you know it, even a family of ducks decided to hop aboard!
Of course, I didn't travel incognito. A pink tutu is never out of place, darling, and the journey was far too splendid to spend it covered up. We must embrace the spectacle! My trusty, rose-pink tutu, which I call "Rosebud," made its debut and, to my delight, sparked numerous happy "OOHs!" and "AHHhs!" from fellow travellers. Let’s just say, "Rosebud" and I caused quite the stir and managed to make a few folks blush in the process. Isn’t it marvellous when a bit of pink and a flutter of tulle can brighten up a person's day?
But what about my "before" arrival in Braintree, you ask? My journey started with a bit of a whirl in my local lab - I can't let my scientist duties fall by the wayside, even when touring the nation! (But let me tell you, being surrounded by samples of fabrics and chemical dyes - sometimes it feels like the ultimate Pink Tutu Sparkles inspiration!). My favourite part of the day though? Wearing my lab coat - because, you know what? My very first pink tutu was gifted to me by a friend in the university science club! So many things in my life are intertwined and you've got to find the links - pink is literally everywhere!
After I was done testing a lovely new cashmere knit (for my future performance wardrobe of course!), I changed into a little more "pink tutu-tastic" garb. For the evening, I whipped up a sensational concoction that included, yes, you guessed it: pink. A fuchsia halter-neck dress that hugged all the right places, topped with a sparkling magenta cape, my tutu du jour: a multi-layered affair with peach-pink chiffon ruffles, a hint of lilac to make it extra special - just darling!
As my "travel by train" adventure reached the Braintree station, I was ready to spread some joy in the most fabulous way possible. And that’s exactly what I did.
Arriving in the evening meant it was time to hit the town's finest performance venue (we're not going to mention the name, it's a little, um, secret... But you’ll see why later)! It was one of those old theatres, with the most beautiful architecture you’ve ever seen. Imagine high ceilings, red velvet seats and gorgeous gilded detailing. But oh! Let me tell you, I was all for bringing some pink into the mix.
After settling in, it was time to let the magic of my show take over. My Braintree audience was full of fun-loving folk, each one with their own sparkle and spirit! We sang, danced, and twirled the night away, celebrating everything pink and playful. Oh, my darling dears, it truly was the night to remember. My act had a unique touch this time - the finale included my entire troupe wearing dazzling tutus (I love to see them get into the pink!), all choreographed to the theme of the “Sugar Plum Fairy" from "The Nutcracker.” You should have seen the audience’s reaction! Just as I envisioned - pink tutus lighting up a stage and transforming the energy into pure delight.
But Braintree wasn’t all about glamorous performance spaces. The following day I had the privilege of sharing the pink love with a whole new audience, just off the main square, where a little market took place every Saturday. You know me! I never leave a performance or an opportunity for sharing the beauty of pink behind. So I gathered my favourite crew, complete with sequined leggings, and pink bedazzled wings (we don’t just show off the tutus on stage!), and surprised them with an impromptu outdoor show. My, what fun we had! There were happy smiles all around, so much so I was surprised to find that even some of the little ones tried to twirl with us (I'm just going to leave that as it was because really, we did all the twirling, that’s more for me - just kidding!).
The magic of a good performance, the beauty of Braintree and the joy of being myself – you’re starting to understand the life of a traveling tutu-loving queen. It's full of excitement, laughter and maybe a few tears – when the sequins fall off your shoes.
The most rewarding part of all, though, is knowing that every pink tutu I wear brings a smile to someone's face, reminding us all that joy is found in every color, every dance, and every expression of ourselves.
Oh, and don't forget - every single one of you has a bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles inside! Find your inner pink, dear reader, let it shine! Go out there, find a beautiful, sparkly, fabulous tutu and spread the pink joy to every corner of the world!
Remember, darlings, I'll be here, writing from every city I visit - with pink tutus, and lots of exciting stories! So join me, on this delightful journey - and be sure to look out for me at the next event, you’ll know its my work! Pink is always the key.
Till next time, darlings, keep twirling and keep shining.
Love,
Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖💖💖
