Longbridge, get ready to twirl!
#tututuesday It’s Tutu Tuesday, my fellow fashionistas! I don’t know about you, but I’m already feeling the disco beat and the pinkest of pinks in my heart. This week, I decided to add a touch of drama to my Longbridge life and it involved a **tutu**. Now, I know what you're thinking: "Tutus are for ballerinas, not for real life!” Oh darling, that is SO last decade! Tutus have had a major comeback and this week, it's about rocking them on the streets, or even popping down to the supermarket in a fabulous **pastel pink tulle explosion**. You know I had to check out the Longbridge scene this Tutu Tuesday!
First Stop: Longbridge Town Centre Forget high heels, I was channeling my inner ballerina. I knew the best way to kick-start Tutu Tuesday was to get some “look at me” street cred going, right?
*Outfit* I opted for a hot pink tulle tutu, complete with fluffy feathers - just the right amount of pink for that iconic disco vibe. I layered a simple white crop top for a touch of casual cool. To finish off my outfit, a classic pair of pink, sparkly trainers. A sprinkle of pink blush and a disco-ball-esque lip gloss (remember that shade? “Electric Pink”), and I was ready to twirl down the high street.
*Fashion Advice* If you're thinking, “But how do I make it work?" remember that a tutu isn’t a costume, darling! It’s an expression! Think more 'dance-ready,' less ‘ballet studio’. Embrace that voluminous charm! If your inner fashionista says ‘short tutu’, rock a short tutu. But if it's a long tutu you're going for, you better bring it, baby! *Longbridge Scenes* It was surprisingly cool! The town centre was buzzling, especially by the Longbridge shopping centre. Everyone seemed super friendly! (Maybe they’re all big Tutu Tuesday fans at heart, I like to think so!) I had one super cute encounter! Imagine a mum doing a mini twirl as she pushes her baby’s buggy... I swear she flashed me a pink sequin thumbs-up! And I saw an older gentleman wearing a bright turquoise waistcoat with a massive purple flower - seriously cool! *Snack Break: The Cake Shop* You know I have a bit of a sweet tooth. This is where the #discosnail came in. I'm obsessed with these tiny little sparkly things, the #discosnail. (And yes, my little secret, I even stick them to my tutu!) Anyway, I saw a bakery near the corner, “Cakes of Heaven” or something equally angelic and it had the most gorgeous strawberry swirl cake in the window. You know there’s only one thing for it… the perfect ‘Cake Shop' tutu Tuesday pic. I did my best pirouette (no judging please!) while munching a strawberry cupcake with one hand. You can bet it was going straight to my Insta-story! **Next Stop: Longbridge Library! Now, for a serious, non-pink (almost, dare I say, “boring”, but hey, you know I can't resist a challenge!) bit of tutu fun: Longbridge Library. I actually had an appointment with a librarian! Not for anything serious like overdue fines (no fear! My books are always back on time, unless, of course, there’s a super cute guy working there!), I’m doing some research for my next post. But here’s the real deal - you can rock a tutu anywhere. I saw a lovely older woman, maybe 80, browsing through the “How to Grow Succulents” section in the most amazing navy blue, full-length tulle skirt that was SO stylish and modern and a tiny, shimmery top, kind of a sequined disco “thing”. **Tutu Inspiration for the Weekend** My Longbridge Tutu Tuesday adventure showed me one thing – it doesn’t matter your age, your career, or your “status” on the street - you can own it in a tutu, as long as you believe in your personal style. I can’t wait to rock some fun pink and green outfits this weekend - stay tuned, darlings! And don’t forget to show off your awesome #tututuesday looks, and maybe add a cute little #discosnail! Love, the pink-loving disco queen
