Tutu Tuesday in Malden, Massachusetts
Hey guys! It's your girl, Anya, coming to you live from the heart of Malden, Massachusetts. You know what that means? It's #Tututuesday and I am beyond ready to bring you all the twirling action!
As you all know, I'm a big fan of all things tutu. I mean, what’s not to love? They're airy, whimsical, and just plain fun! So this week, I decided to take my Tutu Tuesday out of the studio and into the bustling streets of Malden.

First stop: **The Malden Public Library**. Did you know that Malden is a hidden gem for ballet lovers? With tons of ballet history, especially during the Golden Age, the library houses an impressive collection of books, music scores, and even some historical costume designs! (Spoiler alert - lots of tutus in there!). I started my day there to dive deep into some classic tutus in art history!
As I was researching, I started thinking about the many different styles of tutus out there. There’s the classic romantic tutu with its romantic flowing layers, the daring and powerful, fitted “platformed” tutu that often dominates the stage in contemporary works, and the fluffy “classical” tutu in the purest form of dance - the classics! From the ballerina classics like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker to more modern, contemporary ballets like The Firebird, I just love the creative expression tutud make possible!

Next, I ventured to **Malden Center**, a lively mix of boutiques, cafes, and well-loved local spots. This is definitely where Malden's fashion energy comes out. People really know how to dress here and show their love for style!
And let me tell you, the streets of Malden were a great inspiration. My vision was to create an “Urban Ballet” aesthetic. Think classic ballerina vibe but updated with bold pops of color. So for this week’s look, I was inspired by a vintage lilac tutu I found tucked away in a costume shop in the city.
To bring the modern twist I went with a pair of funky Doc Martens - those lace-up boots are basically a fashion icon these days. And I threw on a denim jacket for a street-ready look. For some added fun, I topped it off with a colorful tote bag that really pops, giving it all the "downtown chic" feeling!

One thing you should know about me and #tututuesday – my day never really ends without a sweet treat! Malden has the best cupcake spot, **“Cake-ology.”** Oh. My. Goodness. You have to check it out! They really do have the most delicious, gourmet cupcakes in the region - not kidding! It’s one of my favorite places in the whole town, and a true #tututuesday essential.

From the library to the shopping scene, this #Tututuesday in Malden gave me a new perspective on style, beauty, and finding inspiration in the everyday! The best part of Tutu Tuesdays are seeing all the fun and creative ways other dancers around the globe celebrate their love for ballet and the artistry of the tutu! From traditional pointe shoes to street-style-approved looks, #Tututuesday is all about embracing what we love. So rock those tutus and show the world what YOU love! And make sure to follow me on my socials and tag your #tututuesday pics, I want to see your looks!

**And now here are some quick tips to make the most out of your own #Tututuesday**: * **Choose the tutu that speaks to you.** There’s a tutu out there for every vibe! If you’re into a classic feel, go with a full-length romantic tutu or a classic platform. Feeling a bit bolder? Tututus look amazing when styled up with modern accessories, street style and statement jewelry! * **Go for a look that reflects you.** Don’t forget to feel comfortable and have fun!
