Tutu Tuesday in Savannah, Georgia: A Celebration of Dance and Style! #tututuesday

Hey y'all, it's your girl, Claire, coming at you live from the charming city of Savannah, Georgia! As a passionate ballet dancer and fashion enthusiast, there's nothing I love more than Tutu Tuesday. It's a day to celebrate the beauty and grace of dance, and to flaunt our love for tutus in all their glory. And let me tell you, Savannah, with its cobblestone streets and Spanish moss-draped trees, is the perfect backdrop for a tutu-tastic day!

Now, let's talk tutu styles. From the classic romantic tutu, with its delicate layers of tulle, to the sleek and modern contemporary tutu, there's a tutu out there for every dancer. In Savannah, we embrace all styles with open arms. We saw everything from whimsical, pastel-hued tutus bursting with frills to elegant black tutus that commanded attention.

But Tutu Tuesday is about so much more than just tutus. It's about the community. It's about celebrating the spirit of dance and its role in our lives. It's about spreading joy and laughter, whether we're pirouetting on the sidewalks of Savannah or posing for pictures in front of the iconic Forsyth Park fountain.

Our day started bright and early at The Savannah Ballet Theatre, where the talented dancers and staff are always happy to share their passion for dance. We got a peek at their practice sessions, witnessed their breathtaking technique, and were completely mesmerized by the grace and strength these dancers possess. After, we took a stroll along River Street, where the beautiful buildings and scenic waterfront were the perfect setting to showcase our tutus.

I even had the chance to grab some photos in front of the iconic Savannah City Market, a must-see spot with its colorful history and delightful collection of shops and restaurants. The energy in this market was truly infectious, and we just knew that every passerby loved the energy of the day.

In the afternoon, we hit the streets of the Historic District and took full advantage of all the picture-perfect photo opportunities. We found ourselves posing in front of some stunning architecture, snapping photos with fellow dancers, and creating some unforgettable memories. Of course, we took our Tutu Tuesday to a whole new level in Forsyth Park, where we even performed some mini impromptu performances for a delighted audience!

As the sun started to set, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at a cozy little French bistro in the heart of Savannah, reveling in the stories of the day, sharing laughter, and admiring each other's tutu styles. The day truly exemplified the spirit of Tutu Tuesday: joy, friendship, creativity, and above all, love for the beautiful art of ballet. It reminded us that there is a tutu for everyone and everyone should wear them. Don't just let it be Tutu Tuesday for one day a week, own the tutu for your everyday.

Here are my top tips for rocking a Tutu Tuesday, no matter where you are:

  • Find Your Inner Ballerina: Embrace the joy and beauty of dance. Even if you've never taken a ballet class, twirl in your tutu! It's a fun way to feel confident, elegant and express yourself. It's about letting go of inhibitions and letting loose!
  • Embrace Creativity and Individual Style: Express your own unique style with different colors, textures and patterns. Let's face it, the beauty of the tutu comes with its variety of options.
  • Connect With Other Tutu Enthusiasts: You might even find other fellow tutu lovers at a ballet class or a local park! Don't be afraid to strike up a conversation and share your love for tutus.

As a true believer in the power of dance and fashion, I'm committed to continuing to inspire others through my writing, photography, and even dance moves. We must continue the mission to share the joy of dance. Dance isn't just an art, it is a story, an emotion, a connection between people and ourselves. Tutu Tuesday in Savannah has furthered this belief, reminding me that even in a small Southern town, we can celebrate this magical dance, this wonderful connection through community, and love and of course, the majestic beauty of tutus! We've proven that Tutuesday Tuesday in Savannah is a must-have tradition for any dance lover and a fun reminder to get in touch with our playful inner dancer.
