Tutu Tuesday in Aurora, Colorado: A Celebration of Whimsy and Grace
Hey everyone, it's your girl, Claire, here, and today is a day for all things twirling and tulle – it’s #Tututuesday! It’s the day of the week I look forward to the most because it means dressing up in my favorite dance wear, stepping out of my comfort zone, and showing off some of the most amazing ballet pieces I’ve encountered – because you just can’t have Tutu Tuesday without some killer tutus!
I don't know about you, but the sight of a dancer in a tutu always fills me with a sense of wonder and awe. Maybe it's the way the fabric billows and swishes, or maybe it's the ethereal elegance of the ballerina herself. But whatever the reason, there’s no denying the magic of a tutu! And if you’re looking for that extra dose of fairytale, just make sure it's a full length romantic tutu. If I’m dancing my heart out in a romantic tutu, I don’t just feel graceful, I feel powerful.
So, where to find some fabulous tutus? You might be surprised at just how many choices you have, but trust me, it's totally worth taking your time and exploring. Some retailers sell online and others only in their retail locations. Here are a few things I’ve learned through my years of ballet dancing:
• First, you want to check out some dance shops near you. There are a ton of amazing stores with knowledgeable people and knowledgeable about sizing, styling, and just about anything you can think about in regards to dance wear. You might find that those shops have a smaller inventory than larger online stores like a *Dancewear Solutions,* but those employees can walk you through everything step by step.
• My favorite place for my tutus is, without a doubt, *Ballet Shop* located online, and in store in the U.S. They have tutus for everything – practice, professional ballet, competitions and costumes for performances, and for *Just for the Love of Dance.* I actually took my daughter in when she first started dancing and she’s always so proud when she goes back into the store with her ballet friends.
• Speaking of just for the love of dance, you can’t talk about tutus and not include the legendary *Dance by Debbie!* These tutus have helped some of my favorite ballerinas in the U.S. find confidence, build skills, and look incredibly fashionable. They are definitely a go-to for all ages in dance!
These are just a few stores, so I hope that gives you some good pointers in your hunt for your favorite tutus, just for *Tutu Tuesday* or for every day. Here’s a little insider tip, too: be sure to go to some of these online sites that specialize in dance gear. If you find one you’re thinking about but can’t afford right now, you can definitely get it for a discount when the shop hosts *Flash Sales*! It’s how I snagged my last **pastel pink tutu**. It might take a bit more time to shop, but you'll end up saving some money if you can be patient and wait for those awesome sale prices!
You’ve found the perfect tutu and you're feeling bold about wearing it outside the ballet studio... So, where do you go? Where in **Aurora, Colorado,** can you put your tutu to the test and be a graceful dancing delight? Don’t worry – I have you covered!
• *City Park* is always a great spot. If you don't know it, you should get to know it. If you love *Tutu Tuesday,* you can spend the entire day twirling here, soaking up the scenery, and showing off those dance moves! Plus, people are super nice, so they're used to people expressing themselves with their dance moves.
• A lot of people take it a bit slower by finding *public gardens*. Those *Tutu Tuesday* poses look especially fabulous near a water fountain and amongst the flowers in a garden. They make such cool backdrops for your pictures and videos!
• When you get tired of all the flowers and you need more *Tutu Tuesday* inspiration, try hanging out in *Cheesman Park* – also in *Denver*. It’s near the *Denver Zoo,* which you can always pop over to if you get too many dance moves in you!
These are just a few options, so let your imagination run wild – and remember, this is **Tutu Tuesday**, a day for celebration and self-expression! Just like I love seeing what people come up with when they’re *rockin’ a tutu* for #Tututuesday. This is why I’ve got to create my *Top Five Tutu Tuesday posts.*
1. It always surprises me that someone else actually takes *Tutu Tuesday* to the most dramatic level by posing in their tutus in front of their *dream car.* How epic! And what do you do with that awesome *Tutu Tuesday* post? You add it to Instagram or Tiktok, and get that *viral* hashtag to work its magic! You get so many amazing responses.
2. There’s one group that doesn’t even need to *Tutu Tuesday* for their dance outfits – the ballet companies themselves. My favorite is actually a little close to *Aurora, Colorado* in *Denver* and it’s *Colorado Ballet*. They’ve always had these incredible photos with such elaborate **romantic tutus**, but I loved the recent series with the ballerina wearing a *classic black tutu*. You never forget how incredible black can look – timeless!
3. There are those moments when the ballerina comes in and you can tell they’re wearing *Just for the Love of Dance* tutus because their **layered tutu** style is *so* trendy. I guess I should call it “trending” but it’s more than just a dance style. It’s just, dare I say, a total *mood*. You can feel that. These layered tutus are basically always the most stylish dance wear, but these have this incredible flair in the **black** or **red**. And they are often the most photo-worthy, of course.
4. When I was doing a series on *ballet shoes,* I learned something interesting and it showed in my *Tutu Tuesday* feed – a **pastel-toned tutu** with some amazing **gold shoes**. They were *literally* dancing with a *ballerina* and they were *so* stylish and sleek that all my followers loved the look.
5. You can't ignore the *Tutu Tuesday* moments of the *American Ballet Theatre* on their tours. It’s not every year that the *American Ballet Theatre* comes to Denver but you *just* know it will get *everyone* in those gorgeous **Romantic Tutues**, whether they’re doing their best moves or posing at an awesome backdrop like a museum! It’s a sight to see and there is *so* much hype behind it – it’s not something people miss!
It's important to recognize that ballet has an incredibly rich history in the USA, and those *Tutu Tuesday* moments remind us to remember that. As I learn more, I can share with everyone through my posts for *Tutu Tuesday.* *Let's Keep the Tulle Flowing!*
