Eltham, a Town Embracing Tutu Tuesday
Okay, you guys, it's officially Tutu Tuesday and let me tell you, Eltham is rocking it! Forget the dreary office attire - this town has decided to ditch the monotony and embrace a sprinkle of whimsy. Let's get real, we could all use a little more sparkle in our lives. And what's a better way to do it than with a frothy tutu, dancing your way to the office or down the high street? It’s pure joy, even if it’s just for a few minutes!
Now, for the connoisseurs amongst you (and I know you're out there, my fellow tutufied trendsetters), I'm not talking about just any tutu, folks. We're talking statement pieces, like the stunning tulle froths of the 'Romantic' tutu. Think layered ruffles, ethereal tulle, and a touch of Victorian romance, a la 'La Sylphide' - absolute perfection. The sheer volume of fabric makes a bold statement, announcing to the world that yes, this is a woman who knows what style is!
For the ladies with a more whimsical heart, maybe you’re channeling a touch of ‘Giselle’ with its graceful layers. This is an elegant choice, the tutu’s lightness reflecting your inner dancer. It's ethereal, whimsical and frankly, looks incredible with an oversized knitted jumper. Trust me, I’ve seen it.
And for you audacious babes, there's the power of the ‘Classical’ tutu. Think precision lines, short, tight, and perfectly executed. We’re talking a timeless elegance with a fierce kick. The ‘Classical’ tutu doesn’t just say you know what a good tutu looks like - it screams it. No room for timidity, this is an everyday ballerina look!
Now, here's the thing - we need to remember that tutus can come in all shapes and sizes, not just for those who dance. And that’s what makes #Tututuesday so incredible. It's a beautiful celebration of all things whimsical, of letting go and being unapologetically yourself.
Forget your standard office attire, it’s time to unleash your inner tutu-clad supermodel!
Today, I'm spotting tutus of all types - from the aforementioned ‘Classical’ stunners to some fantastic interpretations. This morning, I witnessed a delightful scene. I mean, what’s more ‘Eltham’ than seeing a bunch of blokes wearing tutus outside the pub after last night's celebrations? (They really owned it). A tutu can be anything you want it to be – sassy, quirky, playful, sophisticated. A nod to ballet history and a symbol of feminine power – the power to embrace yourself and have a bit of fun.
Eltham has a fantastically varied mix of people. From the elderly regulars at the market, to the stylish students, it’s a really unique mix – and each and every one is making a bold fashion statement in a tutu.
We've even got a fantastic little dance school called Eltham Ballet and their teacher Mrs Jones was dressed to the nines! The girls, bless their hearts, looked beautiful in a pastel-tinted medley of different tutu styles and everyone was in high spirits.
I think the greatest thing about #tututuesday is that everyone is doing their own thing, celebrating the day in their own way. Maybe that's why I love living in Eltham so much! There’s so much creativity, there are always little things going on in this town and I wouldn’t swap it for anywhere.
As for my personal pick for the day? Well, you already know me, a true lover of the dance world. So, I’m going for the ‘Giselle’ - graceful, flowy and whimsical, just how I like to roll.
Remember, you guys, fashion is all about fun! Break free, experiment with some fabulous froths. If Eltham can pull it off, so can you!
#tututuesday Eltham
So, Eltham, let's give ourselves a round of applause. For being so ridiculously stylish. For making #tututuesday so freakin' incredible. And, for showing the world what it truly means to embrace joy. You’ve inspired me and hopefully, inspired the rest of the world to break out their tulle!
