Tutu Tuesday in Tambourine, Queensland
Hey fellow dance lovers! It’s your girl, Chloe, back with another edition of Tutu Tuesday! This week, we’re taking our pirouettes and our tulle to the enchanting rainforest village of Tambourine, Queensland.
Tambourine, nestled in the Gold Coast Hinterland, is known for its stunning natural beauty. Lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and enchanting gardens create a fairytale-like setting for this Tutu Tuesday adventure. And let’s face it, what better place to twirl and feel like a princess than in a magical spot like this?
For this particular Tuesday, I chose a classic **romantic tutu**, the kind that just whispers romance and ballet magic. A delicate tulle overlay with a touch of blush pink, perfect for a day of strolling through nature and catching glimpses of exotic birdlife. You could hear a pin drop amongst the rainforest’s tranquility.
Now, if you’re new to the Tutu Tuesday craze, let me break it down for you. Basically, every Tuesday, a group of us ballet-obsessed girls, all over Australia (and even beyond!), choose to embrace our inner ballerina and rock a tutu for the day. It's a fun, cheeky way to bring a bit of whimsy and grace into our everyday lives.
Here in Tambourine, we took our tutu parade through the famous Gallery Walk, a hub of art and craft galleries, surrounded by nature, in the heart of Tambourine. The locals were in awe! They’d stop and take photos and even join us in some impromptu ballet poses.
We also stopped at the charming Gallery Walk café where, you guessed it, the food was served on tiered porcelain plates. What a fantastic excuse to point my toe and lift my dress!
After our little promenade, we headed towards the Tambourine Mountain Botanic Gardens. A tranquil oasis full of exotic flora and breathtaking views, where I tried to emulate my favourite ballerina’s arabesque in front of a backdrop that would make you feel you were part of Swan Lake! It wasn’t easy balancing on the narrow winding paths in a fluffy tutu, but who cares, we were having a ball!
The magic of ballet isn't just confined to the grand stages of Sydney or Melbourne. You can find it everywhere. This Tutu Tuesday adventure reminds me that ballet, like art, is all around us.
So, where will you be wearing your tutu this Tuesday? What style are you rocking? Tag us and share your Tutu Tuesday adventures with the world. Let's make it a celebration of dance and joy in all its forms.
Here’s what made our Tambourine Tutu Tuesday memorable:
- The **fluffy tutu**: This tutu was a soft cloud of pink tulle, swirling in the gentle rainforest breeze. It felt so romantic and airy.
- The **ballet shoes**: I slipped into my favourite pair of ballet shoes. Not for a proper pointe shoe, but it did mean a nice touch of tradition!
- The **colourful flowers**: The gardens were ablaze with colour, and the butterflies, flitting from bloom to bloom, felt as though they were part of the choreography.
- The **Tambourine Mountain Botantic Gardens**: We snapped some photos amongst the lush greens, a perfect way to capture our ballet bliss in nature.
- The **genuine laughter and fun**: Tutu Tuesday is always an opportunity to forget the stresses of life and just have fun, but Tambourine with its magic took it to another level.
We are taking our #tututuesday across the country to visit more iconic places and embrace ballet with new adventures! We’re talking Sydney Opera House, Bondi Beach, and Uluru! You’ll have to check back for updates!
For those who've never donned a tutu, I highly recommend you join in. It's a wonderful way to celebrate ballet, inspire yourself, and have a good laugh! Let's all remember: "It's not about being perfect, it's about celebrating movement, joy and the spirit of ballet!”
Don't forget to follow our adventures, and share your Tutu Tuesday snaps with us using the hashtag #tututuesday! We can't wait to see where your twirling takes you! Love and twirls!
XOXO
Chloe
