If you follow me on Insta, you know that I’m all about expressing my love for ballet in any way I can. And when it comes to celebrating the beauty and artistry of dance, what’s better than a good ol’ fashioned Tutu Tuesday?
Okay, so maybe Tutu Tuesdays aren’t technically a thing yet. But they should be, and maybe one day, my blog will be the reason they are! I mean, come on! We've got Taco Tuesdays, Wine Wednesdays… Why not Tutu Tuesdays, right? Let’s make it happen!
I had the most amazing time exploring the charming town of Saint-Gedeon-de-Beauce last week, and of course, I had to find a way to incorporate my love for tutus into my adventures.
There was just something so special about the old-world charm of Saint-Gedeon-de-Beauce, so when it came to my outfit choice, I knew I had to keep things classic.
My pick for the day? A traditional romantic tutu - the type that reminds you of sugar plums, Swan Lake and elegant graceful ballerinas twirling on point, all rolled into one. The classic silhouette was timeless and ethereal, and it flowed beautifully in the breeze as I strolled through the town’s historic streets.
My outfit was more than just a pretty ensemble, though! It was a chance for me to share my passion for ballet with the world, to show that even in the most unexpected of places, ballet can still inspire joy, beauty, and movement.
And let's be real - what’s more inspiring than a tutu that embodies grace, lightness, and elegance, all while embracing your inner ballerina?
This wasn’t just about me rocking my tutu - I wanted to see if the locals were open to spreading some Tutu Tuesday cheer. I went into a few shops and talked about my Tutu Tuesday idea, showing my photos, and guess what? People were all about it! Even the coffee shop barista was thrilled, offering to give out free mini-donuts on a “future Tutu Tuesday!”
I started chatting with the town’s mayor who loved the idea so much he agreed to organize a public ballet performance in the town square - Tutu Tuesday celebrations - for next summer! I’m beyond stoked. If this post can help get a Canadian town in on the whole Tutu Tuesday thing, well, maybe my blog has really done its thing!
I have a strong belief that tutus are a force for good. They are a reminder that even in the everyday, we can find beauty and inspiration. We should all - and maybe *should* - make every Tuesday a Tutu Tuesday. Don’t worry. You don’t have to go full out in public with the big tulle.
