Tutu Tuesday in Wicklow, New Brunswick: A Canadian Ballerina's Dream #tututuesday
Alright, dance fam, it's time to get serious about tulle! This week, we're talking about all things tutu on the East Coast, here in Wicklow, New Brunswick, the hub of my tutu dreams!
As a Canadian ballerina, tutu Tuesday is a day of celebration, and you're invited to the party! It's time to dust off our tutus, and show the world just how stylish we can be while twirling.
From classic to contemporary, tutus can take you on a sartorial adventure. You can wear a Romantic tutu, its tiers of light and airy layers, designed to highlight the dancer’s every graceful movement. A "tutu-tastic" statement! And don't forget the Romantic Tutu's slightly shorter cousin, the Ballet tutu - the hallmark of classical ballet.
What about a "sweet, sassy, tutu-licious" confection, the tutu-length skirt? This "oh-so-chic" tutu hits just below the knee. The versatility of these types of tutus is perfect for showcasing your favorite Canadian style. From casual Fridays to brunch with the girls, this tutu is definitely your "go-to."
But it's not just about the classic style. The contemporary world of dance has made way for new interpretations, making the tutu even more expressive.
But my fav tutu? The one I absolutely can't live without? A contemporary style: a soft and flowing fabric like chiffon, adding a dreamy feel to a simple, modern outfit. Pair it with my favourite Canadian lumberjack boots? "Talk about a sartorial statement! It's totally *the* look to try when it’s cold and you don’t want to pack away your favourite skirt."
Why Do We Love Tutus?
Beyond the visual impact, the tutu is symbolic. It embodies the essence of grace and elegance.
* It’s the "dress-up" code of dancers, it's "serious fun".
* It takes the mundane to extraordinary, transforming us into fairies, swans, and sugarplum fairies.
* A testament to our artistic passion.
Here in Canada, ballet continues to thrive, with talented dancers all over the country gracing the stages with their graceful movements.
We have a thriving ballet community here in Wicklow, New Brunswick. Ballet is an amazing art form to engage with!
So, where does the love for tutu-Tuesday come from? We get to celebrate the legacy of ballerinas, those who inspired us. And we get to channel our inner “prima ballerinas." We get to celebrate the power of artistry through fashion.
I, personally, see the tutu as an opportunity to express myself freely. Every outfit is an art piece, expressing emotions that I often find difficult to explain. My tutus? They "get me" more than words ever could.
It’s about making bold statements and pushing boundaries, with every twirl, and every leap.
Let's make Tutu Tuesday a movement across Canada. From the urban centres of Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, to the more quaint, rural regions of the East Coast and West, let's paint Canada with our tulle creations.
Embrace the ballerina within. Let's get ready to make some tutu magic! #tututuesday
