Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty: It's Tutu Tuesday in Bletchley, and you know what that means, don't you?
It means tulle galore! And as always, Bletchley, being the charming little town it is, has exceeded expectations with an enchanting display of tutus that will leave you utterly spellbound! Today we're exploring the ever-so-enticing styles that will have you spinning in joy - we've got everything from the classic to the daring!
The Classics Are Still Queen, Baby!
You simply can't go wrong with the traditional "Swan Lake" tutu! You know the one! With its romantic tiered layers of tulle, this style is an absolute showstopper. The airy elegance of the Swan Lake tutu will make you feel like you're floating across the stage (or down the street of Bletchley!). Remember to make sure the layers are flowing and the skirt is a full circle! It’s all about graceful movement! We saw some beautiful ones with sparkling embroidery and some that featured the most stunning embellishments of tiny white pearls and a beautiful silver satin ribbon to adorn the bodice.
Then, there are those with a sassy "Paquita" flair!
This tutu oozes boldness with its shorter length, allowing a little peek of your gorgeous dancer's legs! Paquita's are made for showing off those killer pirouettes and perfect grand jetés. If you're ready to be the star of your own stage (aka: Bletchley), the "Paquita" is for you, babes! And let’s not forget the vibrant colours, the bold bows and the fabulous use of metallic fabric. They are perfect for a confident, captivating look.
Let's Talk About the Tutu With A Modern Twist.
The ballet world is anything but traditional! Bletchley showed up with some real scene-stealers! Today I’ve spotted some "Giselle" tutus which were reimagined in an avant-garde fashion. We've seen some with shorter layers and an incredible use of fabrics, some tulle panels are layered with feathers or adorned with metallic details and some even included bold, statement designs, leaving everyone in awe! And they were beautifully worn by some very talented and confident women! This is what we're calling “The Bletchley Look” and it's just a glimpse of the sheer creative brilliance you'll encounter!

But I couldn’t write an article about #tututuesday without highlighting the beauty of it. A #tututuesday is about expressing yourself in any way you choose. The smiles of the women I saw today - the ones who just love the joy of dancing and having fun were radiant! It’s about the freedom to twirl and whirl in Bletchley, be the beautiful dancer you are. Whether you are a beginner or have years of experience, or have never danced a day in your life, you should embrace #tututuesday in the most amazing, magical and free way.
A Bit of Fun With Tutu Accessories
So much love went into creating these looks and to all the women and girls out there, remember a #tututuesday is also about fun. There is always a spot to add those lovely accessories: * Some of the dancers today chose beautiful long ballet gloves for the "Swan Lake" look - those white ones with that fabulous bow. * Headbands with a classic black velvet or a beautiful velvet bow were seen at Bletchley as well * Tiny diamond studded brooches for the bodice and some elegant hair pins with rhinestones really complimented those beautiful faces * and those black ankle strap dance shoes are a real crowd-pleaser
The Tutu Spirit Never Dies
The world needs a little bit of Tutu Tuesday, a little bit of twirling, a little bit of magic and Bletchley is a place that really loves and embraces it. That's why I always say, every day should be Tutu Tuesday!
