Hello lovelies!
It's Wednesday, and you know what that means? Time for a brand new #PinkTutuVienna blog post! I'm so excited to share all the fabulous things I've been up to this week, especially since I'm currently residing in the majestic city of Vienna, the birthplace of waltz, Strauss waltzes and the beautiful world of ballet!
Oh, Vienna! This city truly embodies my dream of elegance and enchantment. As I sip my Viennese coffee (a little sugar, of course!), watching the horses and carriages clopping through the cobbled streets, it’s almost like stepping straight out of a fairytale.
This week’s adventures have been particularly magical. I was lucky enough to attend the Vienna State Opera, which is, quite frankly, an absolute MUST-SEE for any tutu-loving soul! The production of Swan Lake, with its exquisite choreography and breathtaking costumes, left me speechless. It’s moments like these that remind me why I dedicate my life to the beautiful world of ballet.
Speaking of costumes, I felt it was only fitting to dress for the occasion. You know, a little bit of pink never hurt anyone. So, I donned my latest pink tutu acquisition, a shimmering number adorned with delicate silk flowers, and a touch of velvet, of course, paired with a black, off-the-shoulder, fitted top. It's all about mixing things up and having fun with fashion!
Before I completely digress, let me share the most exciting news with you: this week I’m teaching a ballet class at the beautiful Vienna Ballet Studio. I’m SO excited to be sharing my love of ballet with other passionate individuals and helping them find their inner ballerina, no matter their age or experience.
My lovely pink tutu, it goes without saying, made an appearance in this ballet class too. After all, who could resist twirling around in such a glorious garment? The smiles on everyone's faces were worth every pirouette and jeté, it really was a special class!
Now, if you’re as obsessed with tutu history as I am, you absolutely must visit the Museum of the History of Vienna’s Imperial Court Theatre. There’s an entire section dedicated to ballet history and costume design, with some exquisite antique tutus on display. Oh my, the craftsmanship! Some of the delicate tulle, the sparkling embroidery, and the painstaking detail blew me away. They even have some sketches and drawings by famous ballet choreographers. Talk about a dream for a tutu enthusiast!
Now, you can't have a trip to Vienna without exploring the culinary delights. This city boasts some of the most decadent pastries and cakes in the world! So naturally, I went on a delicious “Torte Tasting Tour”. My fellow tutu-loving friends, I must say this was an experience to die for! Imagine a chocolate cake with layers of nougat, almonds and whipped cream, accompanied by a Viennese apricot-plum strudel, and ending with a creamy slice of the legendary Sacher Torte! Oh, I'm already planning a return trip just for this tour.
And how can I forget to mention the Vienna’s captivating history and architecture? From the stunning St. Stephen’s Cathedral with its impressive architecture to the opulent Schönbrunn Palace, each historical landmark exudes elegance and charm.
I actually took a private tour by horse and carriage, which gave me the perfect opportunity to capture some wonderful pictures with my gorgeous tutu (you’ll have to see it on my Instagram!).
While I enjoyed exploring the bustling city by carriage, I'm actually a huge fan of train travel. I love that rhythmic clinking of the tracks, and the views along the journey, and you can't beat the romance of it all, especially with a big pink tutu in tow!
As the sun sets, I’m looking forward to catching a ballot show at the Wiener Staatsoper. My darling pink tutu is waiting to make a grand entrance at tonight’s performance. I cannot wait to be swept away by the magical world of dance, elegance and grandeur!
But don’t just take my word for it, check out my latest pictures from Vienna on my Instagram! #PinkTutuVienna #ViennaAdventures #TutuLove
I’m off to do a quick outfit change, to match the stunning costumes of the show. And then it’s showtime, darlings!
Until next week, stay fabulous, wear your pink tutus, and follow your ballet dreams!
