Hello, darlings! 🩰💕
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another dose of pink tutu magic, straight from the charming streets of Vienna! I'm writing this to you from a quaint little café near the Schönbrunn Palace, sipping on a delicious cappuccino and soaking up the sunshine. Today's forecast: sunny with a chance of tulle, of course!
Vienna, oh Vienna, you've captured my heart completely. This city is a symphony of culture, history, and elegance. The majestic architecture, the melodious music floating through the streets, the air filled with the scent of Viennese coffee and pastries - it's truly a fairytale come to life.
And of course, no trip to Vienna would be complete without a visit to the Vienna State Opera! Imagine: the golden interior, the red velvet seats, the breathtaking performances... It's simply magical. The other night, I was swept away by the grandeur of a classical ballet production, feeling like I'd stepped back in time. Seeing the graceful dancers in their elegant costumes, their every movement a story told in silent language, filled me with such awe. You know I love a good tutu, and the ones these dancers wore were absolutely divine. Imagine the artistry, the craftsmanship that went into each and every detail! My heart skipped a beat when I saw a stunning piece in a delicate blush pink. It almost made me want to pull out my own trusty pink tutu and twirl right there in the theatre! But let's be sensible, darling, some things are better left in the privacy of your own home (or the rehearsal studio!).
Ballet Inspiration
But don't worry, my tutu-wearing adventures haven't stopped! I've been exploring some of the city's most captivating historical sights, taking inspiration from their grandeur and elegance for my next dance routine. Imagine my delight when I discovered a magnificent ball gown, perfectly preserved in the Hofburg Palace. It reminded me of the lavish balls that were once held here, a swirling kaleidoscope of lace, silk, and twirling ladies in beautiful gowns. Just picturing it made me want to dust off my own tutu and twirl!
Vienna’s Fashion
I'm quite smitten with the Viennese style, a beautiful blend of classic and modern. They really know how to embrace elegance without being overly fussy. The city's vintage boutiques are simply divine. The other day, I found the most beautiful blush pink vintage dress. I can't wait to pair it with my favourite tutu and strut around Vienna.
My love of travel
I arrived in Vienna by train, naturally. It's my favourite way to travel, offering breathtaking scenery and plenty of time for introspection, allowing my mind to wander through stories of the cities I’ve yet to see. I even spotted a horse-drawn carriage, and oh, how I would love to be whisked away by those majestic horses through the cobbled streets of Vienna. Now that would be an enchanting experience!
On this day in history...
This week's blog coincides with the anniversary of Marie Taglioni's legendary performance as La Sylphide, which premiered in 1832. Can you believe it? Such an iconic figure in the history of ballet, revolutionising the way we see dance with her light and ethereal movements. Her story reminds me that ballet isn’t just about beauty, but also about pushing boundaries, breaking tradition, and inspiring generations to come. And wouldn't you know it, she often wore tutus!
Remember my mission: Pink Tutus for everyone! 🩰
I want to see the world dancing in pink tutus, celebrating joy, and spreading a little bit of magic wherever they go! I'm already working on some amazing tutu-themed projects, and you know I'll be sharing all the details with you as they come.
Until next time, darling, keep your spirits bright, your hearts open, and your tutus ready to twirl!
Love,
Emma 💕
