Guten Tag, darlings!
It’s your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, bringing you another whirl through Vienna! Today’s the 3rd of September, and the air is alive with the melody of waltzes and the rustle of crisp autumn leaves. Honestly, I don't think I’ve ever felt this truly magical - Vienna is just utterly bewitching! And yes, you guessed it, I've got a brand-new, ridiculously gorgeous pink tutu ready to make an appearance in all its glory! It’s a soft, billowing confection of pink tulle, hand-stitched with sparkling Swarovski crystals, the kind that catch the light and turn you into a little bit of a fairy princess.
This week in Vienna, I’m positively swimming in cultural delights. The schedule is choc-a-bloc with things to see and do, and my little heart is absolutely bursting with excitement! Here's the low-down on my week in Vienna:
A Ballerina's Dream: A Ballet Journey
I arrived in Vienna by train, of course, which was as glorious as ever! It’s such a romantic way to travel, you can't beat watching the scenery flash past as you sip a steaming mug of Earl Grey. But my real reason for this whirlwind trip is one word – ballet!
Vienna is world-renowned for its classical music and ballet, so you can imagine my glee when I discovered the Vienna State Opera. The sheer magnificence of this building is enough to make you gasp - it’s the epitome of Viennese elegance and opulence. Tonight, I'll be experiencing La Bayadère by Marius Petipa, a truly romantic and intricate ballet, performed by the Vienna State Opera Ballet. Oh, and you've got to see my outfit – it's a full-length, powder pink tutu with a diamante bodice. This ballet is about to become even more dazzling with a touch of Pink Tutu magic! ✨
Speaking of magical, did you know Vienna is famous for The Spanish Riding School? Now, I've always had a soft spot for horses, but these aren't just any horses – these are the Lippizzaner, renowned for their grace, beauty, and agility. They're a sight to behold, and I absolutely cannot wait to watch them perform their captivating ballet-like movements.
Vienna's Shopping Delights: Finding my Perfect Pink
You can’t talk about Vienna without mentioning the shopping! Oh my, where do I even begin?! It’s a paradise of luxurious boutiques, designer labels, and quaint independent shops. Vienna’s shopping scene is pure indulgence – the streets are lined with charming shops bursting with clothes, shoes, accessories… I just want to buy everything!
And while I’m not immune to the siren call of high fashion, I'm all about finding that unique gem, that little touch of magic. I’ve discovered a charming little store called “Tutu et Fleur”, tucked away on a quiet street in the heart of the city. It’s full of vintage dresses, ribbons, and of course, the most wonderful collection of tutus imaginable! Imagine – delicate silk tutus, ruffled cotton tutus, and tutus of every hue under the rainbow! Of course, I left with a delightful blush pink tulle tutu and a silk scarf emblazoned with a swirling pattern of pink roses.
A Gastronomical Adventure in Pink:
You know how I love finding a good slice of pink cake anywhere I go. Here in Vienna, I stumbled across Cafe Sacher - a cafe with an age-old tradition and a decadent cake called the Sachertorte. I ordered a slice – a symphony of rich chocolate cake layered with apricot jam and coated in a smooth, dark chocolate glaze. Now, it may not be pink, but it’s absolutely delicious! I plan on pairing my next slice with a sparkling glass of rosé. The combination, I assure you, is heaven on earth!
Sharing the Love of Pink and Tutu:
One of the reasons I adore Vienna so much is that it’s a city that truly embraces fashion and style. It’s the kind of place where you can waltz into an opera house in a fabulous outfit, without a second thought! I’m even considering starting a flash mob with some fellow tutu enthusiasts here – just a thought! But for now, I’ll continue to spread the pink love, one graceful twirl at a time.
