Guten Morgen, darlings!
This week I'm bringing you all the pink tutu magic from Vienna, the City of Music, where waltzes whirl and pastries beckon. Vienna has truly stolen my heart - its cobbled streets are just begging to be explored in a fabulous pink tutu, and the grandeur of its palaces, well, let's just say it's like stepping into a fairytale!
Speaking of fairytales, I kicked off my Viennese adventure with a visit to the Vienna State Opera. You guys know I'm a total ballet buff, and this opera house, oh, my dears, it was absolutely breathtaking!
Imagine: glittering chandeliers, velvet curtains that could make a princess swoon, and an orchestra that made the very walls sing. The ballet performance I saw, "Swan Lake", was an exquisite spectacle - the dancers were pure grace, gliding across the stage like swans on a moonlit lake.
Of course, no visit to Vienna is complete without indulging in its incredible food scene. I sampled the most delicious Sachertorte I've ever tasted - it was like a chocolate cloud, fluffy and rich, a perfect end to my evening of enchantment.
Now, let's talk tutus! While I wasn't able to find a bespoke tutu shop, I did manage to track down the most fabulous vintage dress store, overflowing with frocks fit for a ball.
I snagged a beautiful, almost-vintage tutu-like skirt, perfect for a daytime waltz around the city. The soft pink shade with delicate lace trimmings had me twirling in the shop, envisioning myself waltzing through the gardens of the Schönbrunn Palace.
Speaking of the Schönbrunn Palace...
Let me tell you, this is one of the most majestic palaces I've ever seen! From its sprawling gardens to the incredible baroque architecture, it's a sight to behold. And I might have even donned my new skirt and twirled across the main lawn, pretending to be the royal ballerina!
Of course, no Viennese trip would be complete without a horse-drawn carriage ride! I absolutely adore horses - they're such majestic creatures, and something about the gentle sway of the carriage made me feel like a princess in a fairy tale. We clattered through the heart of the city, past beautiful buildings, enjoying the bustling atmosphere.
You know, Vienna reminds me a lot of my home in Derbyshire. It has a charm and beauty that just draws you in, and like my favourite little Derbyshire village, there's always something magical to discover around every corner.
This city is a reminder that life is meant to be lived with a twinkle in your eye and a twirl in your step. Even if you don't have a pink tutu handy, a little bit of joy goes a long way, just like the beauty of the waltzes and pastries in Vienna.

Until next week, my lovely darlings, keep twirling!

A Little Vienna Note:
For those of you wanting a little more on the ballet side of things, there's a museum devoted to the Vienna State Opera! I highly recommend a visit if you're in the city. And don't forget to grab a coffee and a delicious pastry in one of the many Viennese cafes. They are just so charming!
What's happening this December in Vienna?
There are loads of fun events in Vienna this month! Here are a few highlights:
Advent Markets: Vienna's Advent markets are some of the best in the world, with twinkling lights, gingerbread cookies, and a warm Christmas atmosphere. I recommend checking out the Christmas Village in front of Vienna City Hall and the magical Christkindlmarkt at Schönbrunn Palace.
Viennese Philharmonic Orchestra Christmas Concert: Experience the magic of a Christmas concert at Vienna's Musikverein.
Opera performances at the Vienna State Opera: The Vienna State Opera presents a variety of performances throughout December. You can check their website for schedule and tickets.
Shopping galore!: Vienna has amazing shopping, from the chic boutiques on Kärntner Strasse to the historic department store, Stahl.
And of course, loads of delicious food! Indulge in traditional Austrian Christmas pastries, Viennese coffee, and even visit a charming chocolatier!
So, what are you waiting for? Book your trip to Vienna today and enjoy all that this magical city has to offer!
Until next time,
Emma xx
