Hey gorgeous girls! Emma here, your resident pink tutu-wearing time traveller! I'm so excited to share my adventures from November 11th, 2036, because today is all about those incredible, body-hugging garments that are the cornerstone of any dancer's wardrobe: leotards!
Time Travelling in Pink Sparkle
After a rather fabulous performance on London's Southbank, where I absolutely slayed in a dazzling pink sequined leotard, I slipped into my own time travelling one! Yep, that's right, a shimmering pink sparkly leotard, fit for a princess, is my chariot to different times and places! I may not have the TARDIS, but I sure have my very own time travelling leotard, just as magical in its own right.
2036 Leotard Fashion:
Oh, honey, let me tell you, leotard fashion is bursting with fun, colour, and personality! I absolutely adore how styles are becoming more inclusive, showcasing every shape and size with confidence! Today, leotards are a powerful statement.
In 2036, sustainable fabrics are the stars of the show. Leotards are made from recycled plastics, organic cotton, and even repurposed textiles. This commitment to ethical practices is making a huge difference!
Speaking of different, I even saw some mind blowing leotard designs today, from the dazzling, multi-coloured geometric prints, to ones inspired by futuristic cityscape designs.
Fashioning the Future in Leotards
So where did I travel to today, you ask? Well, I hopped into the Wayback machine (my nickname for my time-travelling leotard!) and headed to Paris, where I experienced the iconic Parisian Leotard Festival. It was just what I needed to kickstart my inspiration!
This incredible event, held at the Musée du Costume et du Textile, is a spectacular display of leotard history and contemporary design. I spent the whole day surrounded by glittering tulle, dazzling silk, and the most incredible leotard-based fashion shows you could imagine!
One stand out look was a neon pink, two-toned, asymmetrical leotard. It was a futuristic take on the traditional, featuring sharp lines, textured fabric, and holographic accents. I had to get my picture in it, darling! It's on my Instagram, make sure you check it out!
My Time Travelling Leotard Must-Haves:
- Always be pink: You can never go wrong with pink. I live by the motto: "More is more!"
- Add sparkle: If it doesn't sparkle, it doesn't belong in your leotard wardrobe!
- Be comfy: I don’t want to be uncomfortable, do you? I’ve had a few fashion blunders! Always wear something comfortable and supportive.
- It's all about the Details: I’m all for that finishing touch! Be it a charming bow, a beaded embellishment, or a peek-a-boo mesh panel.
- Don't Forget your Confidence: When you wear a leotard, wear it with absolute confidence and grace.
My Mission to Make the World Pink (and in Pink Tutues, of course!)
This month, I'm launching a new campaign, "Pink Tutu Power"! My goal is to encourage everyone to try out wearing a pink tutu, even if it's just for a day!
I know, I know, it seems a little out there! But I believe in the transformative power of colour and the joy of movement.
Tutues symbolize so much. They represent joy, creativity, freedom. When you wear a tutu, you reclaim your femininity, celebrate your unique individuality, and radiate confidence! It's a reminder to live life in a full-on, fun, and expressive way!
So, how can you be a part of "Pink Tutu Power?" I encourage everyone to join in on my journey, try out the Pink Tutu challenge:
- Pick out your favorite pink tutu or just any tutu, for that matter! A traditional tulle tutu or a modern style tutu - it’s all about the feeling.

Keeping It Real: Time Travel Isn't Always Glamorous
While time travelling is an absolute blast, it can get a bit tricky. Like that one time, when I landed right in the middle of a Medieval tournament, wearing a leotard that was rather out of place! (The knight tried to grab it to clean his boots - Not Ideal, but it gave me great stories to tell!)
Life Is a Stage - Making it More Fabulous, One Tutu at a Time!
There’s so much out there to explore, from Victorian corsetry to 1960s dancewear – each time I travel back, there are new secrets waiting to be discovered, new stories to be told.
