Hello my darling tututistas!
It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast and space-travelling ballerina. Buckle up your glittery shoes and grab your cosmic tiaras – we're about to take a whirlwind trip back to my favourite place in the entire universe...Planet Earth!
As you all know, Wednesday is my favourite day of the week, because it's Pink Tutu World blog day! So here I am, back on Earth, feeling the familiar energy of Derbyshire countryside – although honestly, a touch of interstellar dust still clings to my sparkly pointe shoes!
It's the 10th of May, 1995, and even the birds are singing in a distinctly jazzy style today. What makes this date so special, you ask? Well, dear friends, it's Ballet Week!
Yup, you read that right. This whole week is dedicated to celebrating the majesty of ballet, and you better believe this pink-tutu-loving ballerina is here to embrace it wholeheartedly. From pirouettes in the morning to watching Swan Lake under a glorious Derbyshire moon, I'm determined to make every single day of this week a tribute to the elegant grace and magical world of ballet.
But before I divulge into my dazzling dance plans, let me rewind the cosmic clock and fill you in on my adventures from last week. Remember my celestial journey to Venus? Oh darling, Venus is truly a fashionista's dream! The Venusians have an absolutely divine way with fabrics – think shimmering, gossamer silks with iridescent sheen, perfect for creating the most magnificent, space-age tutus. Honestly, the Venusian ballet dancers practically glide through the atmosphere with their ethereal gowns. You wouldn't believe how envious my tututistas from Mars were when I brought back some exquisite Venusian tulle and sequins – even Mars, a planet famous for its love of practicality, had to admit it was pure glamour!
But it wasn't all celestial couture, dear friends. Let me tell you about the ballet I saw during my visit! I had the absolute honour of attending a performance of "Dance of the Moonbeams," an incredible choreographed story told by a group of luminescent, Venusian creatures known as "Silkies." These gorgeous, silver-toned beings glided, soared, and swirled across the stage, bathed in a soft moon glow, telling the story of a tiny moonbeam lost on a stormy night. It was utterly breathtaking – and I even snagged an incredible, handmade costume crafted from a lunar moth's wing, so watch this space for a truly out-of-this-world outfit reveal in my next blog post!
Speaking of moonbeams, my intergalactic trip wouldn't have been complete without a little stop by our lovely Earthly Moon! It may not have the luxurious atmosphere of Venus or the daring, futuristic energy of Mars, but you can't deny the beauty and magic of a moonlit waltz, can you? I decided to channel my inner moonlight for a very impromptu tutu fashion show – imagine a twirling silhouette against the starry backdrop of our lovely, familiar moon. And the fashion was truly heavenly! We're talking a galaxy-inspired pink tulle gown with crystal stars that actually twinkled! My fellow astronauts and space explorers, I think it's safe to say I brought a touch of Pink Tutu World to the celestial landscape, and I'm just thrilled about it!
After such an exciting, interstellar adventure, I must admit I am rather looking forward to immersing myself in some familiar Earthly comforts. Ballet shows are, of course, top of the list. As you all know, I can't resist a good dance show.
Right now, I'm just dying to get my tutu-wearing toes to see The Royal Ballet in London, performing none other than The Sleeping Beauty. I’ve got a pair of custom-designed tutu-like gloves to match, made entirely of feathers and sparkles, just like Aurora’s magical fairy-gown in Act II. You simply must check them out! My dress will be pink, of course – what else?
Now, what would Ballet Week be without a touch of fashion, wouldn’t you say?
It's the perfect excuse for a shopping spree, and let me tell you, Earthly fashion stores have some truly enchanting items for any ballet enthusiast!
First, I absolutely must get a new ballet bag. My current one, a sparkling turquoise number I picked up on Neptune, has been doing its job valiantly but is showing a bit of cosmic wear and tear. I’m thinking a classic black, patent leather number with an intricately-stitched pink satin ballet shoe charm. It's got to be both stylish and practical!
Of course, no ballet bag is complete without the essential Tutu Survival Kit. My Pink Tutu World Emergency Pack is a well-kept secret (not anymore!) of my intergalactic journeys. Inside it, you'll find anything a pink tutu-loving girl could need for an adventure on Earth or beyond: extra sparkly tights, emergency pointe shoe repair glue, an emergency lipstick, and a whole bag full of magic pink glitter – you never know when you might need a quick dose of sparkle!
Oh! Speaking of sparkle, did I mention I’m planning a visit to the London Palladium to catch the Crazy for You musical? My darling, I simply must see it for its fashion! Think show-stopping tap-dancing in magnificent costumes with plumes and rhinestones. I mean, they simply can't top the Pink Tutu World for pure glitz and glamour, but you've got to admit, they put up a good fight!
This Ballet Week, darling friends, is going to be a blast. There’s even talk of me doing a guest performance for the Derbyshire Ballet Society, complete with a specially-designed tutu that incorporates pink ribbons woven with the very constellations we saw together on the Moon last week! So, keep your eyes on my social media and www.pink-tutu.com for some fabulous photos!
But that’s it from me for this week. Until next Wednesday, remember to embrace the magic and grace of dance, embrace your inner pink tutu enthusiast, and let the sparkles guide your way!
Lots of love,
Emma 💖🩰✨
P.S.
Oh, my darling tututistas! It's the 10th of May and it just happens to be my birthday! What better way to celebrate turning another year older than by swirling into a new era of cosmic ballet? And guess what?! As a special treat for you all, I’m releasing my brand new ‘Intergalactic Pink Tutu Collection’ at Pink Tutu World HQ tomorrow! Think cosmically-inspired pink tulle, shimmery sequins with galaxy patterns, and customizable tutu wings with twinkling lights. And you better believe they’re ready to ship anywhere on Earth, Venus, or even Mars! So get ready for a blast of intergalactic fun! See you next Wednesday, with photos of the most fabulous new arrivals and, of course, lots more stories from my adventures. xx
