Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth Edition - Post Number 4 - 24th May 1995

Hello darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World, your one-stop shop for all things pink, fabulous, and tutu-licious! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another Earthly blog post from your favourite cosmic ballerina.

This week, I’m writing to you from the heart of Derbyshire, England. Yes, my little planet Earth abode! After weeks of gallivanting across the galaxy, it’s so lovely to be back in the green countryside, surrounded by the familiar scent of sheep and freshly-cut grass. It's also lovely to be in a place where pink is appreciated and embraced, not just a fleeting, neon trend that’s forgotten in a matter of seasons. You know me, my love for the colour pink is eternal!

Now, before we get into the gossip, you all need to know the reason I’m back on Earth this time. It’s for something special, something that’s tugged at my cosmic heartstrings – The Royal Ballet’s performance of Swan Lake!

Yes, darlings, I managed to squeeze in a ballet performance before returning to the stars! To be honest, it’s always such a joy to be amongst a live audience, especially in the majestic grandeur of The Royal Opera House. This particular performance had an especially beautiful staging, and the music, well, I always say Tchaikovsky can do no wrong. It took me right back to my childhood days in the dance studio, feeling the emotion in every pliĆ©, every pirouette, every arabesque. The dancers are so exquisite; they truly transport you to another world! I find the whole experience truly breathtaking and captivating, especially the beautiful ballerina, in her feathery white tutus, transforming effortlessly into the mystical Swan Queen. Don’t get me wrong, my darling tutus are fabulous for all sorts of purposes, and I would be delighted to do a performance myself if asked; but I must admit I have a certain soft spot for the classic tutus, as do you, I suspect!

And oh, you must see my new tutus. After I travelled back to Planet Earth, it was straight to Harrods and then the Theatre Royal Drury Lane for the biggest splurge on tutu-ific fashion. I got two of the most stunning tutus – one in baby pink with shimmering beads, perfect for casual tea and cucumber sandwiches at a quintessentially British country garden party, and another, with a soft champagne tulle, the colour of the stars at dusk. That one will be perfect for my next cosmic performance on Andromeda! It truly felt like destiny – those twirling layers, all the delicate pleats and fluffy goodness, I almost cried tears of joy when I put them on! And, of course, both had matching ballet shoes, pink and sparkling with a dash of gold. Don’t be a muppet, you’ll never catch me in ballet flats!

But back to this Earthly trip. This wasn’t just about tutus and shows, darlings! I’ve had a proper gander at the history of the area, taking a stroll through the rolling hills and villages. And guess what? Derbyshire is brimming with beautiful countryside scenes. Did you know, Derbyshire’s full of caves and waterfalls? Nature’s really shown off its best side, making it such an idyllic setting for some truly inspiring moments. The quiet countryside, a ballet performance, all my gorgeous new tutus… life’s a little bit good at the moment.

My love for travel, and spreading the tutu-loving message around the galaxy, knows no bounds. The world’s so full of stunning places! Speaking of which, have you checked out www.pink-tutu.com? That’s right, dear readers, it’s time for you to take your sartorial choices into your own hands and spread some pink-tutu magic across the globe. Because, remember: I don’t believe in half-measures, I’m a pink tutu purist through and through. My life’s work? Getting everyone wearing a pink tutu, whether on Earth, Alpha Centauri, or even a random asteroid out in the depths of space. After all, as they say in my hometown of Derby, ā€˜We all deserve a bit of a jolly!' I'm really hoping this website becomes a space to celebrate the joys of being girly and having fun with style, whether you're in Derbyshire, Derbyshire’s a long way from here in outer space!

I do need to talk about some funding though, darling. To maintain the high standards of this cosmic-chic fashion lifestyle takes quite a bit of space credits! But I don't just have fun – I work hard! I am a tutu-wearing, intergalactic ballerina after all, so you can bet your bottom dollar that I can twirl with the best of them! And if you're a true fashion aficionado, you'll know, as every stylish galactic citizen knows, the key is making each outfit count! And darling, let me tell you, my performance fees are pretty substantial for a very good reason – I know what makes my wardrobe glitter and glimmer! It's about finding those one-of-a-kind pieces that give your outfit that certain je ne sais quoi. And yes, a girl's gotta have a little extra bling now and then! So you’ll never catch me turning down a lucrative show or a grand ballet performance, and neither should you.

But I know you all can’t all afford expensive space trips and fancy tutus just yet! I’ve got you covered, darling! Check out the ā€˜Tutu Inspiration’ page on www.pink-tutu.com, where I share tips on creating fabulous looks even on a small intergalactic budget! And remember, a tutu is always a fabulous choice for whatever the occasion, be it a shopping trip, a galactic convention, or a big cosmic dance-off!

This blog post is getting rather lengthy, isn’t it, darling? And I've just finished another delicious cuppa. I should go, it’s high time for me to catch my spaceship. I have to head back to the cosmos to see what the future of fashion is all about.

And, don't forget to subscribe to the Pink Tutu World website! You can find a link right below this post, darlings! I’ll be posting about all sorts of amazing experiences as I travel across the cosmos, from a visit to the glamorous galaxy club 7 on Andromeda to my next cosmic ballet performance on Jupiter.

Until next week, darlings!

Stay pink, stay fabulous, and stay tutu-ific!

Love and tutus,

Emma,

The cosmic ballerina

P.S The date is 24th May 1995 on planet Earth, darlings.

You know I love to do a little bit of research on this beautiful Earth, to be up on current trends. Well, this year it seems all the chic folks are rocking a new dance form on planet Earth called ā€œgrunge.ā€ This looks rather dreary and unattractive, with dark clothing and lots of baggy fabrics. I much prefer the style that is inspired by our beloved ballerinas!

And you know what else is fun about the Earth in 1995? It seems planet Earth is obsessed with this American ā€œPopā€ music scene. You may have heard of a certain Michael Jackson or the spice girls, a British group from London. Now, it’s certainly a great time to be a ā€œdancerā€, and although I personally think I prefer the grace and refinement of ballet to ā€œpopā€ dance moves and lyrics, these musicians are definitely capturing the attention of the planet Earth. I did go see The Spice Girls, their show was such a fun party atmosphere; I just found myself wishing they had worn more pink tutus! You can always depend on a pop group to make their own tutus with feathers and glitter; a good example for my pink-tutu followers on Planet Earth!
