Pink Tutu World: Post #100: A Cosmic Ballet Adventure!

Greetings from Planet Earth, darling tutu-lovers!

This week, I'm absolutely buzzing! Not just because it's Wednesday and time for my Pink Tutu World blog post (hello to my devoted readers!), but also because… drumroll … I'm finally here, on Planet Earth! After months of pirouetting across galaxies, I've landed back on my home planet.

You know I’m a huge fan of intergalactic travel, but there's no place like home, especially when home is Derbyshire. And my flat! Oh my goodness, haven’t I missed those pale pink walls and my ballerina-themed wallpaper. They're just calling out for a good twirl, don't you think? I even found the perfect outfit in my wardrobe – a fabulous hot pink tulle skirt paired with a shimmering lilac crop top and pink ballet pumps. This look screams, “I'm back on Earth and ready for a good old fashioned dance!”

Let’s catch up, shall we?

Where did I leave you? If you're new here, well, let me tell you, I'm Emma, your ultimate pink-tutu-wearing space traveller. I'm from Derbyshire in England, a delightful little corner of the world renowned for its stunning Peak District views and - surprisingly enough! - for its long history of dance. Did you know there are amazing ballet schools and community theatres tucked away in Derbyshire's rolling hills? I truly believe you could say the passion for dance is practically in the water!

It's my life's mission to get the entire universe swirling in pink tutus. It's all about spreading a message of joy, optimism, and - of course! - fabulous fashion!

I fund my adventures through my own phenomenally fabulous ballet performances - you know, my spaceship is no mean feat to run. The last stop was a performance on a little space station, a real backwater! My opening number, "Twirling through the Milky Way," really got those space station denizens swirling. They didn’t even know about the pink tutu trend - honestly, sometimes the galaxy can be rather backward. But, I got a brilliant review from a super friendly space reporter, Zork: “She's a radiant ball of light with pirouettes to die for!” It seems even Zork from Zorgtron is a pink-tutu fan now!

And the date - 26th of March 1997. Now that was a date! Remember the fabulous tutu party I hosted on Planet Xyla? There were glittery green drinks, floating marshmallow planets, and the most glorious pink food imaginable! You wouldn’t believe the effort I went to…I even managed to find space station-approved strawberry space sorbet! A tutu is just the beginning, Darling! You need the whole ensemble!

The Perfect Tutus - Back On Planet Earth!

Speaking of outfits… I'm positively obsessed with hunting for the most fabulous tutus around the universe. On this trip, I have a fantastic new design I have to show you.

Imagine, if you will, a soft pink tutu that sparkles with hundreds of little moonbeams… I found the material while browsing a little space station boutique and knew it had to be mine! Then I went all out! It's fully lined, with multiple tiers of layers and the tiniest hint of shimmer…the colour is just so flattering! It’s made in a way so it's super flowy. A simple yet divine halter top with crystal-encrusted moonbeam shapes, a few strategically placed space gems and this celestial pink masterpiece is good to go. I even made sure the moonbeam sparkle matches the starlight sequins on the tutu. I call it my "Dancing through the Cosmos" look, darling!

Now, of course, no outfit is complete without a bit of sparkle! My favourite designer on planet Xylo, Galactic Gemz, has designed the perfect necklace to match. The craftsmanship on the pendant… Oh, I must say! I am tempted to steal it. Imagine a pink-hued moon with the smallest, most delicate moonbeam cluster of crystals. Dreamy!

But enough about clothes for now. You probably want to know about the Earth adventures I'm already planning, don’t you?

Firstly, the main event: a special pink-tutu themed charity ballet performance in a splendid old Victorian theatre, complete with Victorian tea party after! The proceeds are going to help support underprivileged children to join a dance school here in Derbyshire, a project I've been working on. It’s all about inspiring the next generation of little ballet dreamers! And who knows, they might even turn into interstellar tutu travelers like myself, wouldn't that be simply divine?

Then there's so much to see in Derbyshire!

The Derwent Valley Mills – UNESCO World Heritage Site – that’s on my “must-see” list! Apparently they were a centre of revolutionary industrial innovation in the 18th and 19th centuries! Imagine the stories the walls of those old mills could tell! You know me, darling, I just love stories. And historic stories are the best!

Plus, you just have to visit the wonderful Chatsworth House. I hear they have amazing gardens – and possibly, just possibly a hidden pink rose!

Now for some Earth-based fashion! I have a few must-go shopping dates booked: one at the amazing vintage boutique called ‘The Tutu Emporium’ – I can almost guarantee they’ve got something in a shade of pink for my cosmic wardrobe – a good way to begin any trip! Then, there's my absolute must-do fashion visit - the wonderful designer atelier, 'The Ballet Ball', it's known for its fabulous contemporary creations!

From One Universe to Another – In a Pink Tutu!

On this trip to my home planet, everyone is getting the pink tutu treatment!

My mum loves the whole pink-tutu-galactic idea, although her favourite colour is yellow… She does wear a delightful pink headband now and then, just for me. Even my dad is sporting a cute pair of pink socks for all his dance classes – he's just as excited about Earth’s ballet schools as I am!

And, my mission this trip is to find a divine pink tutu outfit for her and a gorgeous pink tulle skirt for my dear Auntie Agnes who, much like me, has a little pink obsessiveness in her!

I’m looking forward to meeting the world and showing them what true intergalactic dance-wear style is all about!

  • Don’t forget! I love seeing all your outfits – share pictures on Twitter and Instagram with #pinktutuworld – let’s spread the pink-tutu magic together, darling!

See you all on Wednesday!

Love, Emma

A Pink Tutu Moment

I almost forgot - Today marks the 20th anniversary of one of my absolute favorite tutu moments!

It’s a date that will be etched in my memory forever, 26th of March 1997! Do you remember ? The premiere of that magnificent tutu! The one with the heavenly sparkle! The tutu that swept the universe – it even caused a fashion revolution on planet Xyloo! And the amazing ballet it accompanied - a dance based around a cosmic ballet theme "Whirlwind in the Milky Way," absolutely phenomenal! And that tutu made the most wonderful whirling silhouette on the stage. To this day, it's the number one trending look, still getting millions of likes on fashion sites across the galaxy! Who knew tutus were such a big deal? It shows what a bit of sparkle and a generous helping of pink can achieve. It's not about the dance, not necessarily. It's about how you feel when you wear it, about the optimism and magic that each tutu brings into your world!

You’re welcome!

Love,

Emma
