Now, I know you might be thinking "Emma, why are you back on Earth?" 🧐 But darlings, as a professional ballerina who dances for the love of the art and the joy of pink tutus, one must have a home base, right? Earth is where it's at! And trust me, the creative energy here is quite simply divine ✨, which is why I’ve been working hard to make it a stop on my global - well, actually galactic - ballet tour. 🌎🪐
It’s not easy juggling my passion for performing and traveling the cosmos, but who needs to choose when you can have it all? And my friends, let me tell you, it’s not just about the pink tutus, it’s about the experience 💫 of experiencing a kaleidoscope of worlds and meeting the amazing, tutu-loving souls out there. It’s all about sharing my passion and making this universe a better, more twirling place. 💕

Believe it or not, it was a balmy summers day, on a visit to the Nottingham Royal Ballet back when I was a fresh-faced newbie on Planet Earth. That's where I saw it - the majestic tutus, the ethereal movements, and the sheer magic of ballet that changed everything. 💕 It was the moment my life shifted - it was a "Yes!" to pink and everything tutu-tastic! 😍 And there and then, a promise formed deep within my heart - to share this exquisite art with the universe. ✨
I know it's a big dream, but as my Gran used to say (she was quite the sassy lady!), "if you dream it, you can achieve it!" 🙌
10th March 1999: What's On? ✨🩰
This week I'm keeping it close to home, so no need for the space-faring spaceship this week. My gorgeous, glamorous pink tutus are taking centre stage on Planet Earth for a bit.
Today's agenda is a mix of ballet history, a fabulous new boutique launch in the heart of Derby and an exquisite theatrical performance! It's going to be a busy one, so grab your ballet shoes, a sprinkle of stardust and let’s dive right in! 🤩
* Ballet History: Unveiling The Story Behind The Tutu *
You’ll find me right now, with my notepad, perched comfortably at my favourite little cafe. This little café's hidden away just around the corner from Derbyshire’s fascinating Derwent Valley Mills. (Think cobbled streets, roaring rivers and charming cafes... ahhh!) 🏞️☕
I’m learning all about the origins of ballet - how ballet, the grace, elegance, and of course, tutus - came about. There are so many captivating stories - did you know there were actually tutus in ancient Greece?! Who knew?! 🤯
There's such fascinating history here on Planet Earth. The first ballet tutus were basically skirts! It wasn't until the mid-1800s that we saw the iconic layered tutus that are still synonymous with the artform today. Think Maria Taglioni in her light, layered tutu - just picture it. Magical, right? 🥰
I love ballet, but my love runs even deeper when I know the history behind it, so if you’re visiting the planet Earth, don't miss out on a historical adventure - even if you're just a few steps away. ✨
Tutu-tastic Fashion Boutique! 🛍️🩰
But darling, no trip to Earth is complete without a dash of retail therapy. Right? 🤫 And this week, I’m heading to a new boutique called "The Tutu Shop" that’s just opened its doors here in Derby! 💃
This boutique’s got everything I love - the newest trends, colours (lots of pink!), and you guessed it… gorgeous tutus! 🥰 They have vintage finds from designers that I adore! I'm absolutely thrilled, it’s so exciting and just what Planet Earth needs! ✨
It’s always inspiring to see how others are blending their passion with creativity! And as a big fan of Earth’s history, I love how these unique shops keep things alive! I bet they even have a little tutu history section hidden away somewhere in that store! 😏
I just can’t wait to have a good browse around and I’ll let you know all about the trends I discovered! 🤫 And of course, it goes without saying that a pink tutu or two just had to make its way into my collection. 😉
Dance the Night Away with a Fabulous Theatre Show! 🎭✨
This evening, my darlings, is all about the arts - theatre and performance to be exact! 🤩
I’m heading to The Royal Ballet for a captivating performance, but this time, we’re not talking ballet! Tonight’s all about music and dance in an amazing theatrical production, The King & I! I am obsessed with theatre - it's so inspiring and so captivating, it’s always a wonderful evening! 💫
From the story to the choreography, to the exquisite costumes… the whole production just speaks to me, especially tonight with such a wonderful cast! 👑 I just can’t wait to be transported to the story! 💕
And to keep it consistent with my passion for all things pink - there’s a lovely splash of pink and purple in the show’s costume and makeup… because let’s face it - nothing says magical like a touch of purple and pink! 🔮💜
I’m keeping it real and heading to The Royal Ballet (they are world-renowned! It’s on my must-visit list whenever I’m on Earth!), and, of course, I’ll be donning my most gorgeous, most sparkly tutu - because let’s face it - why not?! ✨🩰
