Hey darlings! It’s Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to planet Earth, and I am just swooning over all the incredible things I discovered!
You know me, I'm always looking for new ways to spread the pink tutu gospel. And believe me, Earth didn't disappoint. From the vibrant streets of London to the stunning landscapes of Derbyshire, my pink tutu and I had a right royal time!
Before I spill the tea on my Earthly escapades, let's have a little chat about the significance of March 17th. As many of you Earthlings will know, this date marks Saint Patrick's Day! Now, I may not be Irish (my roots are firmly planted in the lush, green Derbyshire hills), but a good dose of green in a tutu is always a good thing! Just picture this: a cascade of emerald green silk billowing around a pink tutu – absolutely divine! Green is definitely my new colour obsession for this week.
Anyway, back to my trip. Now, my adventures this time were a little different from usual. For the past couple of months, I’ve been earning a living with my cosmic ballet. And when I say "cosmic", I mean I've been performing at intergalactic gatherings - a real mixture of galactic gatherings, celestial gatherings, even a few black hole themed events. It's all a bit mind-bending, honestly! You have no idea how awkward it can be explaining your intergalactic career to a space creature from Alpha Centauri. "So... how do you make a living?" Shudders They just don't get the sheer joy and glamour of a cosmic ballet.
But Earth is, and will always be, where my heart lies. I miss the scent of freshly baked scones, the comforting crunch of British crisps (not chips, you earthlings!), the sound of seagulls squawking on the beach, the… well, I'm going to have to stop before I get too carried away. But let's just say, my earthliness is stronger than ever.
Right, let's get on with the actual Earth trip shall we? So, as soon as I landed, it was time to immerse myself in the beautiful city of London. The buzz is electric! There was this fantastic theatre district in a place called "Covent Garden" which I’m convinced is made just for tutu-clad ladies like myself. The theatre's walls seemed to breathe ballet and a whisper of music filled the air. I wandered into a lovely bookshop with its walls crammed with history tomes – including a particularly intriguing volume on the history of the tutu. Did you know the first "tutu" as we know it actually started out as a simple, calf-length, pleated skirt called a tunique? A far cry from the majestic tulle concoctions we wear now, wouldn’t you say? They're more than just garments - they're symbols of elegance, grace, and boundless freedom! It made me think about how much our fashions have changed in the universe. And guess what? Tutus are making a comeback across the cosmos, and let’s just say a bit of a ‘Pink Tutu revolution’ is on the horizon. This earth trip has filled me with so many ideas!
Next, I jetted off to Derbyshire – my beloved homeland. You might not be surprised to hear I went on a very fashionable shopping spree! From floral headbands, bejeweled pink bags, and even some rather fancy sequined ballet slippers – oh my, the joy of fashion shopping is simply unmatched. I was just in my element. And honestly, my new headbands and bags are giving me life! And yes, a pink tutu will always look absolutely divine against the backdrop of green English meadows! Think fields of daisies and daffodils. It’s utterly sublime, darling!
After the shop spree, it was time to immerse myself in the rich heritage of Derbyshire, with its charming villages, winding stone pathways, and rolling green hills. What is even more brilliant is Derbyshire's connection with some of the very best ballerinas from centuries past. Think Marie Taglioni - a total dance icon - whose family is from this very area!
I've been sharing a bit about some of my favourite ballet artists and dancers from across the cosmos and here on Earth with you and I think it's time to tell you a little about a few more! On Earth, a dear friend from London introduced me to a woman called Sylvie Guillem. She’s a total dance legend and one of the greatest dancers of all time. Just think about a swan and you can just picture her grace. I have to confess - my style leans a little more to the playful side. However, you can learn a lot from watching Sylvie. I'd definitely recommend getting yourself to a ballet show while you're here - it will fill your heart with wonder! I know you will agree.
Speaking of wonderful ballerinas, Earth also boasts a super inspiring group of ballerinas and dancers in London – they go by the name of the English National Ballet. Their work has the spirit of an unstoppable ballet force. There’s a truly amazing sense of community that's simply magical.
All in all, my trip to planet Earth has been a perfect reminder of all the things I love - the grace of dance, the vibrant culture, and the utter joy of finding a brand new pink tutu. It's always so heartwarming to meet fellow tutu enthusiasts – especially in unexpected places. Even though Earth’s inhabitants are quite the explorers, there’s just something so special about discovering a shared passion for the ethereal beauty of a perfect tutu. And if anyone dares suggest there's no place for pink tutus in outer space - just whisper "Emma’s on the way" and let them get ready for a world of pink tutu magic. It’s certainly on the cosmic agenda, right?
Until next week, remember - there’s always a reason to wear a pink tutu and have a good time! I’ll be checking back in next Wednesday, darlings, so stay tuned for more adventures. And, don't forget to leave your comments and questions below, I love hearing from all of you!
Yours in twirling glory,
Emma xx www.pink-tutu.com
P.S: For any budding ballerina fashionistas who are wanting to bring a bit of pink tutu magic to their wardrobes, check out this spectacular shop in Derbyshire called "Belle’s Boutique." It's a paradise for those who love colour and sparkly, girly clothing!
P.P.S. Let’s all be mindful of the world we are all lucky to live in! Don't forget, even in the biggest and busiest city, always keep your pink tutu looking fab. Earthlings and intergalactic friends alike have been reaching out asking about pink tutu cleaning tips. My best advice is to wash it gently with a light, cool, and colour safe detergent and try to avoid machine washing! Don't fret, there are plenty of ways to make it shine for any planet you’re on. Now go out there and have the most marvelous, whimsical, and sparkling day!
