Darling, you won't believe the adventures I've had this week! As always, my dearest Pink Tutu followers, this post is for you! We're still exploring this little gem of a planet - Planet Earth, you know - and the celestial events this week were nothing short of dazzling. Don't forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday to join me on these adventures, darling. I'm back to you live, direct from Planet Earth. I mean, who needs a fancy, flashing, light-filled galactic portal when you have the whole Internet, right? (although, I wouldn't say no to a touch of that celestial magic! ;)
Anyway, last week's performance on this planet at the Royal Opera House in London went down a storm, you know. (Oh darling, you should see this city - absolutely incredible! They have cobblestones! I have plans to have a fabulous cobblestone photo shoot with my pink tulle and my pink beret - very Brigitte Bardot!) And thank goodness - I am absolutely living for those long nights on a spaceship, soaring through the galaxy in search of the most beautiful celestial events. But sometimes a girl needs her down time, and ballet is always a perfect escape, wouldn't you say?
This week, on planet earth, I had a bit of a tutu-ful moment, literally! So my little trip to Derby this weekend to visit the folks - you know, Mum's legendary chicken casserole - (It's true! I'm pretty sure she adds a secret ingredient... but she's sworn to secrecy!). I had planned a visit to the Derby Museum and Art Gallery for a spot of artistic inspiration (we're all about aesthetic, right?!). But when I went through their beautiful collections, they have the most stunning collection of antique fashion from the 1800s! And there I was, looking at a whole display dedicated to fashion through the ages! The first Victorian era tutus were so, well, they were interesting... you know, lots of ruffles and very stiff, I'd rather wear a spacesuit... it really shows how tutus have evolved to these light and elegant creations we know and love. So that's got me thinking! Thereās a book deal in this - "Tutus Through Time", perhaps! (I just hope theyāre more fashionable than those space tutus they made us wear in kindergarten!) I just love that our tutus are more than just a piece of fashion; it's a window into our universe of dance and our past. It was quite the discovery, darling! I spent the afternoon immersed in all things tutu, and even bought myself a magnificent little velvet beret - think little red riding hood but with a cosmic, pink tutu twist - you know, perfect for our pink-tutu-loving adventures!
Let's talk about the moon, though - wow, talk about breathtaking, she was the real star of the show this week. On this planet earth, it looks like she decided to put on a special show for me - it looked pink! Oh, I can't tell you how excited I was! There were actual stars out too - you know, unlike that little dot in the sky, or "planet" as you people call it... It looks just like... oh I don't know, a slightly sparkly, boring bead! What I wouldn't give to add a tiny touch of pink glitter, oh darling, think about it - all the planetary orbs would be the perfect pink! Then I'd just put on my cosmic boots, do my ballet on my cloud of light and be the pinkest, twirlingest space princess of the cosmos... anyway! Back to earth, back to the real stars...
The thing about this planet Earth is it's really quite the fabulous little planet. You know, everyone is all about this whole Christmas thing right now, which really wasn't for me... The decorations can be interesting, a lot of glitter... but I do adore the smell of cinnamon. (That's one of my favourite spice notes, actually. Maybe itās what they add to Mom's casserole... Itās the perfect secret ingredient!). So Iām a little excited for the next show. You see, this date, December 20th... in the year 2000.... what was it - 1969? Oh yes, in this year - December 20th, 1969 was one of those things they adore on this little planet Earth, they called it "The Moon Landing." And oh my, oh my! My spaceship landed right on a planet that, literally landed on the moon! So to commemorate the "moon landing" I decided to get dressed up in my best ballet-inspired Christmas get-up - you know, because why not? Tutu in all its glory, with all its glitz, it just has a sort of cosmic element about it doesn't it?
So I just finished a little performance in Trafalgar Square... they have a gorgeous big Christmas tree. So sparkly! It was absolutely freezing, though, which is rather unfortunate because of how cold those little Earth winds can be - not at all what one wants on a cosmic ballet trip! And of course, all these earthlings are completely obsessed with "snow" which looks like someone decided to scatter fluffy little balls of white everywhere! Not for me, darling, I canāt handle it... it just isn't elegant! Oh, but you wouldnāt believe the audience! These earthlings - especially the kids, darling, they are completely and utterly obsessed with twirling. But everyone here seemed to be just so happy to watch my beautiful pink tutus - that really brings me such joy, darling, you can't buy happiness like this!
I am always in such awe, darling, by how much love people here on Planet Earth have for all things twirl-tastic. Everyone here was absolutely entranced by the performance, even the folks passing by in a big red bus, which is pretty special considering this little planet earth, everyone loves driving all the time. It seemed like the perfect backdrop to my dance with all those shiny, festive lights! Iāve been watching their movies too, those movies where they do things like āsing in the rainā, you know, a sort of cosmic, dancing in the moonlight experience⦠I absolutely adore the music! Itās such an escape...
Oh darling! Did you know about "Winter Solstice"?! Oh itās just, just fabulous - like my Christmas! In our space travels, thereās no light, it's all black - black sky, black universe, black moon... But all that darkness means the night is endless. I really do love the night time - the endless dark nights out there in space. And of course, if you've ever read a book about the Zodiac, then you will definitely know the earthās winter solstice, right? Itās all about those celestial events that align with the sunās path around our universe, how everything gets dark, then slowly brightens! They say the solstice is all about rebirth, new beginnings! Oh darling! What's a better symbol of that rebirth than the little, fluffy ballerina, floating effortlessly across the starry night. Don't you think so? Well... Maybe this could be the perfect topic for next week's post - **āWinter Solsticeā on Planet Earth!ā
As we say on this lovely little planet, ākeep it pink,ā darlings. See you soon for our cosmic, pink ballet, but until then - stay beautiful. Love from Earth,
