Pink Tutu World - Blog Post #309 - Ballet on Planet Earth!

28th March, 2001

Hello my darling dears! Emma here, back from another whirlwind tour of the cosmos, and oh my goodness, the adventures just keep coming! I've barely had time to catch my breath after my last post, but honestly, how could I deny you a glimpse into my latest ballet escapades, especially when they took place on good ol' Planet Earth!

Now, before you start thinking I've lost my marbles and landed back in the comfort of my little village in Derbyshire, England, think again! My spaceship landed right in the middle of London, smack-dab on the Thames! The journey over had been as exciting as ever, with a quick detour through the Orion Nebula (had to pick up a couple of space-age feather boas - pink, obviously).

Anyway, this trip to Earth wasn't just a quick visit to the good ol' Queen Mary's tea room and the royal ballet (although a quick "afternoon tea" in the tearoom with my ballet bun securely fastened, of course, is a must every time). No, this time I was there to perform at the London Palladium!

The London Palladium... The name alone brings a shiver of excitement! Honestly, I felt like I was stepping onto the stage with Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey and Cilla Black! Such iconic history! Such magic!

And guess what? I made my grand entrance on stage, just as I do on all my planets, in my signature sparkling pink tutu, a tutu specifically designed by a very talented little alien seamstress who found me in a supernova. My pink was like no pink on Earth! Well, until I popped in for a little retail therapy in London’s Harrods. Oh, the dresses! And shoes! I was in my element. I simply must find some lovely new fabric to take home on the spaceship, and some shoes, so we can all get a little bit of the Harrods look, for my alien audiences.

You see, this trip, my darling dears, was a special one. It was a chance to showcase my unique "Tutu Universe" performance and promote the Pink Tutu Campaign - a worldwide movement aimed at bringing a bit of grace and glitter into every corner of the universe! The Earthling's were utterly mesmerized by my galactic ballet. And as always, the highlight for me is seeing the children's faces. Some were completely wide-eyed with wonder. One sweet girl even told her mummy she wanted to wear a pink tutu to go to school every day. My heart just melted, and it is exactly why I do this.

After the show, the London Palladium crowd, loving every minute, and with some of them already wearing a little bit of pink in their outfits, simply roared for an encore! What could I do? Well, we all know how much I love the energy of the audience, so of course, I took a little bow, my tutus twirling just the tiniest bit. They were in raptures and then erupted into applause! I am absolutely certain, that within a week, Pink Tutu fever will have reached every corner of London and indeed, all of planet Earth. The "Pink Tutu" power is going to be unstoppable! I might even be on the front page of The Sun, with my pink Tutu and the heading "Ballet Goddess" ! Oh dear, it all feels a little surreal, but if it brings a bit of joy to the Earthlings, then bring on the tutu-wearing.

It was a whirlwind, darling dears! A whirlwind, and I simply have to share my very latest, earth-shattering ballet discovery, something to do with Earth history. The first mention of the tutus in England goes right back to 1588, and were actually known then as "Farthingales." So fascinating isn’t it? But that’s a story for another day, and hopefully I’ll have something more to share soon from a few more planetary trips on www.pink-tutu.com. You can find me posting every Wednesday! I hope that one day soon, every girl in the galaxy, including me of course, will have a very pink, shiny, special tutu, designed by a special space-age alien designer, which of course they all find, after a brief but fun supernova encounter, just like me! Until then, my darling dears! Stay glittery, keep twirling and remember, pink is the colour of the universe!
