Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth – Blog Post #324

Hello gorgeous humans! 💖

It’s Wednesday again, which means it’s time for another fabulous Pink Tutu World blog post! This week, I’m going to be talking about my trip to Planet Earth - yes, you heard right, Planet Earth! It's been a whirlwind of ballet, fashion, and fun! ✨

This was my 324th blog post and a rather special one. This date – 11th July, 2001, marks an incredible milestone for humanity - the day that Barry Manilow released his hit song, “Copacabana”. I’m not sure why this momentous event wasn’t widely celebrated. Let’s fix that, shall we? This song is a true masterpiece and a testament to his incredible talent. It even inspired a West End musical that's just utterly captivating! It's about as theatrical as they come and I definitely recommend giving it a listen – you'll be singing along in no time, I promise!

Now, let’s get back to my exciting adventures on Planet Earth! 🚀

My travels this time have been a complete blast - imagine tutus, sparkles, and endless sunshine. Honestly, Earth is a fashion paradise. The planet boasts a vast array of colours, textures, and styles. Who would have thought there were so many shops?! 🤯 It was like stepping into a rainbow! You won't catch me wearing anything other than my trademark pink tutu on Earth, but I must say, I’ve picked up a few exquisite new pieces. I adore that their colour palettes seem to scream, “Emma, buy me! You'll look amazing!"

First stop? The world-renowned fashion hub, London! I had to go and explore the streets of Harrods - they were positively overflowing with stunning couture, like something straight out of a dream. Imagine if you could open a shop filled with all of your favourite colours! 😍 This is my vision - and it’s definitely something I’ll be pursuing soon… you can definitely look out for some exclusive Emma-approved fashion picks for your closets coming up soon.

Now, we all know why I came to Planet Earth: it’s the ultimate dance destination! 🩰 The ballet companies here are phenomenal, and I absolutely love their focus on the beautiful artistry and classical traditions of ballet. The talent of the dancers - oh my! 😲 I've had the absolute honour of attending several world-renowned ballet shows and each performance just made me fall even more in love with the beauty of movement, expression, and art!

One highlight for me, as a true tutu enthusiast, was seeing an exhibit on the history of ballet and, most importantly, the tutu! It was incredible seeing how the designs have evolved throughout the ages. It turns out the tutu had its humble beginnings in the 1830s and has been steadily morphing and inspiring fashion ever since! That pink tutu I wore as a little girl? Yep, that style was based on what they wore in the ballet in the 1870s. So when people think “tutu,” it's probably that style that pops into their head! 🤯 What a legacy! Honestly, who would have thought my beloved tutus have a history this rich and fascinating? It just shows that fashion is about more than just looking great. It’s about history, evolution, and storytelling, and there's no better story to tell than the story of ballet. 💖

I also visited Derbyshire - you wouldn't believe the landscape! I'm originally from here, and even though it wasn't all glitter and glam like the City of London, there's just something peaceful and serene about this place! It's a definite contrast to the energy and intensity of the stage, which I suppose makes it the perfect place to unwind between my busy shows! I absolutely adored spending some time in this haven of lush greenery. I mean, who needs glitter and glamour when you have stunning countryside vistas like those? 😌 It's perfect for reflecting on life and feeling grateful for everything that this extraordinary journey has given me!

What I particularly enjoy about visiting Planet Earth is how diverse it is. You can find something for everyone! I just know everyone will love their vibrant mix of cultures and lifestyles - even their diverse approach to fashion! One day, they’ll all be wearing pink tutus just like me, I just know it! 💕

Until next week, happy twirling, and stay fabulous!

Love, Emma 💖💖💖
