Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post 348 (26th December 2001)

Greetings from Planet Earth, darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad intergalactic traveller, Emma, back with another thrilling adventure from my latest travels! I’m so excited to be posting from Earth once again, because, well, it’s Christmas!

This Wednesday feels even more special because it’s Boxing Day – a lovely, traditional day after Christmas in England where families enjoy more feasts and open those lovely extra presents they might have received! I can't believe we're almost at the end of 2001, this year has just flown by in a whirl of sparkly tutus, celestial stardust, and endless pirouettes. It’s been such an incredible year for travel - I’ve discovered so many incredible worlds and had a chance to grace their stages with my dazzling ballet performances.

From the shimmering shores of the Moonlit Galaxy to the pulsating nebulae of the Cosmic Dance Club, I've pirouetted my way across the universe in my beloved pink tutu, inspiring laughter, wonder, and a love of twirling on every stop.

Of course, the joy of travel is not only about seeing new places. It’s also about experiencing those unique traditions and celebrating with local communities. And speaking of local communities, earthlings, have I told you about this place called Derbyshire, on this planet Earth? Well, it's the very place where I first blossomed into my Tutu-loving self! And let me tell you, the Derbyshire folk know how to celebrate - they are truly a wonderful lot. They adore ballet (a love they generously share with me!) and adore their delicious, heartwarming Christmas puddings!

Speaking of puddings - this Boxing Day I'll be heading out with my family, tucked up snug as a bug in my cosy pink Christmas jumper, for our traditional family Boxing Day walk in the Derbyshire hills.

I know what you're thinking… how could a seasoned space explorer, an international ballerina extraordinaire, be possibly happy to just sit at home in a comfy Christmas jumper? It’s all about finding balance, my lovelies! A bit of home comfort goes a long way. And let's face it, after the hectic journey through the starlit cosmos, a girl deserves a little bit of quiet time. So, that’s why my next week’s dance schedule is a tad lighter - to give myself a chance to reconnect with loved ones here on dear old Planet Earth. I have a wonderful show booked at the ‘Twinkletoes Theatre’ on the 3rd of January to start the new year with a whirl of dancing - I can't wait! It’ll be my annual performance to benefit ‘Tutus for Every Child’, my very special project to inspire children everywhere to chase their dreams, be themselves and embrace the magic of ballet!

Now, let’s dive into my adventures for this post:

My previous trip to a moonlit meadow on Alpha Centauri was a blast (the celestial beings are SO stylish – think glitter, feathers and a dash of neon! ) but I felt like my pink tutu was missing its sparkle. Well, Earthlings, that’s where my shopping gene really came in handy, and let me tell you, what I found at a little gem called ‘Sparkling Secrets Boutique’ on a space station tucked away near Jupiter - well, let’s just say my tutu's never looked so dazzling, and I picked up a beautiful pair of shoes for my celestial stage shows, too.

But wait for it – I’m also adding some more celestial gems to my Pink Tutu World shop ( www.pink-tutu.com ), and I can’t wait to share them with you!

But it's not all about glamorous galas and glamorous galas and out-of-this-world fashion - although who doesn’t love a dash of glitz and glamour? The most special things are often simple: sharing a home cooked meal with my family, reading a good book in a cosy corner or just simply basking in the beautiful peace of an English winter afternoon with a mug of hot chocolate – pure perfection, my loves.

Oh, and one more thing before I let you go, earthlings:

The date is the 26th of December 2001! You know what that means?! It’s the anniversary of the first ever Planet Earth Blog post! What an adventure it’s been! And the universe is my oyster!

Remember, my dear Earthlings, if you need a bit of inspiration, just close your eyes, envision yourself twirling in a sparkly pink tutu and imagine a magical journey beyond the stars.

That’s your weekly dose of pink tutu magic, and as I always say, darlings, Keep on twirling!

Emma
