Darling readers! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another sparkly, twirly blog post from your favourite intergalactic ballerina! It feels like an absolute age since I've been able to dust off my keyboard and share my latest adventures, what with the exhilarating journey to Planet Kitiki being so full of dazzling outfits and sensational shows.
Speaking of dazzling outfits, let's talk about the reason I decided to write a blog from this very planet - Planet Earth! It's always a joy to come back to this celestial gem, as there's no place like home, right? But there's something extra special happening here this week, and believe me, my fellow pink tutu-wearing princesses, it's a BIG DEAL.
Firstly, I want to shout out to all of you out there who haven't caught a live ballet performance on Planet Earth yet. Trust me, it's like an interstellar experience within an earthly embrace. The lights, the costumes, the exquisite storytelling โ all of it simply magnificent. The beauty of it all really speaks to my soul!
So, the big thing going on here is this... a new show has just landed in London, England, on our dear planet. Now, I know you might be thinking "London, Emma? It's so old and historical!" (And it is!). But, darlings, that's where the true magic comes in! The majesty of the history blends with the vibrancy of the show and - you guessed it - more stunning tutus! You could say I was in my element, like a ballerina in a tutu, let me tell you!
The show I'm referring to is "The Nutcracker," a holiday favourite for many on this planet. But this time, it's something extraordinary! It's a reimagining of the traditional "Nutcracker," with a brand-new production that really captures the imagination. The choreographer, let me tell you, has poured all their creativity into the dances - the energy! The choreography! The sheer breathtaking talent on display - all while I was sitting in the most luxurious of velvet seats, enjoying a glass of the most splendid pink champagne (pink is a necessity, you understand!)
Imagine, if you will, a swirling, breathtaking interpretation of the classic "Waltz of the Flowers," where each petal twirls to a rhythm that leaves you absolutely breathless. This production even managed to create a dance number that looked like it was being performed on the moon - and I must say, it really made my trip back to Planet Earth feel a little bit like home.
Speaking of "home," the ballet studio in Derbyshire has been feeling the pink tutu love lately! Just imagine: adorable children in pink tutus, all ages from babies in fluffy tutus to teenagers ready for professional ballet shows, swirling with joy! The studio is always so happy when I stop by, and honestly, they make my day!
But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, darling readers, I can't leave you without mentioning the fashion. Fashion is absolutely key when you're on Planet Earth - a place so steeped in tradition that they even have a specific date for the arrival of a brand-new year! Well, here I was, with a whole new pink wardrobe (the most fabulous colour of the year - if you ask me!), and the streets were bursting with a plethora of pink!
I have to say, London's fashion scene is always up to date, with designers pushing boundaries and the streets abuzz with trends. One of the most charming trends right now, however, is reworking vintage outfits. You'd be surprised what gems can be unearthed in antique shops. Why spend your credits on something new when you can make something completely new by revisiting the past?! Imagine that - turning vintage items into something that matches your modern ballet ensemble. A perfectly sustainable way to keep looking fabulous while keeping in tune with what is currently happening on the planet! I love the way Earthling trends can be repurposed. So often I find it's what makes them truly unique!
Now, this is going to be one of those posts, where I get a little deep. Ballet history on this planet is fascinating! The way they've adapted it from the grand palaces and courts to now performing in a vibrant mixture of street and theater... it's really just an incredible feat. So for my next ballet adventure, I am taking it to the streets. There is an opportunity to be a part of a live ballet street performance right here in London, with a charity gala just around the corner! How perfect, because my other great passion, darling readers, is fundraising to bring this beautiful pink tutu love to even more planets!
In my heart of hearts, my journey is really all about bringing that sprinkle of pink tutu joy and elegance to every corner of the universe. Ballet transcends time and space and is a celebration of everything beautiful and brilliant about life. Why can't we make that feeling something every celestial body enjoys?
So, with the "Nutcracker" dazzling my senses, the street ballet around the corner and the pinkest outfit I ever could imagine on my back, I'm feeling utterly fulfilled with Planet Earth for now. Maybe tomorrow I'll finally tackle getting that spaceship washed after that crazy trip to Planet Kitiki, but right now, it's back to Earth for more exploration and tutus, tutus, tutus!
Stay fabulous, darlings! And don't forget to check back in next Wednesday for another pink and twirly update on my cosmic travels!
Much love and ballet blessings,
Emma
xx
