Hello, darlings! Emma here, reporting live from Planet Earth - well, actually, not live live just yet, I’m writing this as I'm still a bit starstruck! I just got back from a fabulous trip to the Andromeda Galaxy, where I got to meet the cosmic tutu-wearing queen herself! Yes, Queen Celeste, she of the glittery, rainbow-tinted, diamanté-studded tutu - I absolutely died when I saw it! And you wouldn't believe how much we had in common! We even had a chat about tutu history, can you imagine?! (Just as a quick aside - have you ever considered that tutus, darling, are basically just celestial gowns for earthly bodies? Mind blown)
Right, so this past week has been a whirlwind. I touched down on Planet Earth on Saturday night after an absolutely wild journey. Honestly, space travel is all very well, but let me tell you, getting a good night’s sleep after travelling faster than the speed of light, then negotiating Heathrow customs in a shimmering, silver, full-length tutu... well, it takes a lot of willpower! And don't get me started on the suitcase allowance on space flights! (Seriously, my feather boas are practically contraband these days.)
My trip to Andromeda was, however, quite incredible. After spending some quality time with my dear Queen Celeste, she even had the entire galaxy participate in a fabulous intergalactic ballet performance for me! And I have to tell you, their choreography was something else! The dance moves they conjured up – pure star dust and shimmering galaxies. I was moved to tears, darling! We've got so much to learn here on Earth from the intergalactic ballet scene. Imagine all the things we could do!
As always, before I left for this latest cosmic escapade, I managed to sneak in a show or two. I absolutely fell in love with a performance at the Royal Opera House this time - it was "Giselle", a tale of romance and sacrifice. A lovely ballet, and, darling, did I mention the costumes were utterly spectacular! So, the highlight for me? Definitely the ghostly, otherworldly, white tutus that the Wilis (those ethereal female spirits) wore. The way they billowed and swayed with each dance was quite breathtaking.
Of course, after a week of interstellar galavanting, my body was absolutely begging for a good stretch. I hit up my weekly ballet class on Tuesday morning. And oh my, you wouldn’t believe how much that little tutu practice can clear the cobwebs from your brain after an alien encounter. Now, all I need to do is figure out how to bring back some of that intergalactic cosmic dust – imagine the impact on my choreography. A true cosmic ballerina, don’t you think?
Speaking of impact, I'm seeing some great stuff happen around the globe right now! It makes me absolutely giddy - you know, all those people starting to think about ballet in a new light. Here in the UK, we’ve had Royal Ballet* perform some new interpretations of old classics, and you can see ballet finding its way into different places like underground club scenes. I’ve heard the latest street ballet dancers are to die for, though I haven’t yet found any time to venture out into the London nightlife to catch their moves!
You know what, I just found some photos of the latest tutu trend for Earthly wear. And what are we seeing? Pink tutus everywhere, of course! But not just the usual kind – it’s all about mixing and matching. From metallic tutus with vintage fur shrugs for a ‘disco-goddess’ look, to soft, dreamy pink tutus paired with classic leather jackets. I’m particularly in love with the bright fuchsia tutus styled with vintage 70’s jackets - so bold and glam! Oh, and the new layered tulle skirts that we're all sporting here on Earth? The latest ones feature gorgeous ombre-style tulle which changes colour from white to shocking pink. Absolutely fabulous, I tell you. My heart skips a beat every time I see a pink tutu, darling! You simply cannot go wrong.
I also noticed some other fashion news – everyone seems to be getting really into these bold statement earrings. You know the kind I'm talking about – big, dramatic pieces that really add a touch of pizzazz. And trust me, my fellow tutu-loving fashionistas, these are not your grandma’s earrings! Think dramatic hoops, glittering stars, and oversized gemstones – perfect for accessorising those perfect pink tutus! And darling, don't forget about the perfect pink lip for that ultimate glamorous look - trust me, it always takes your pink tutu up another level!
Talking about glitz, I managed to pop into a most fabulous new store yesterday. It's a tiny little shop, all mirrored walls, silk curtains, and soft lighting, tucked away in one of London's most fashionable hidden corners - (which, I must mention, I won't reveal to you darlings! It would never be as wonderful without a dash of mystery). It's just overflowing with beautiful handmade tutus – every shade of the rainbow imaginable - from glittery to ombre and even one with real, genuine, little tiny feathers! My inner diva absolutely went into overdrive.
Of course, it wasn't long before I'd snatched up a very special new tutu – it’s all the color of lavender and sparkling star dust. A real work of art, darling! It's perfect for any intergalactic party, but also looks smashing here on Planet Earth too, with just the right touch of shimmer and magic!
Before I run off again into the boundless realms of space – next week I'm off to explore a few nebulae I’ve been keeping an eye on – I just wanted to leave you all with this thought.
You know, we may be billions of light-years apart, but darling, there’s no stopping us from coming together. We may have different galaxies, planets and languages but there’s one thing we share - a love for dancing, fashion, beauty, and, of course, the magic of a perfect pink tutu!
Keep dancing, my dear friends! And don’t forget, every day is an opportunity to wear your heart on your tutu!
Stay fabulous, and until next Wednesday!
XOXO
