Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth Blog Post #529 - 15th June 2005

Oh, my darlings!

This week has been a whirlwind! It’s Wednesday already, which means it’s time for my weekly Pink Tutu World blog post!

Where do I even begin?! Oh yes, you’ll never believe where I am. Well, what planet I am, anyway. It’s Planet Earth!

I know, I know, you're thinking "Emma, what on earth are you doing back on your home planet after your fabulous journey to Vega? Aren't you missing your trusty spacesuit?"

Yes, darling, of course I do. But sometimes, you just need a bit of home.

I must admit, a part of me feels like a total fashion faux pas rocking up to Planet Earth in a fabulous fuchsia tutu after travelling around the universe, but that’s the thing about the pink tutu - it’s never out of place! The universe is a very fashion-conscious place, you see.

So, why am I here? Well, a few things, really. My beloved Granny Pinkerton needed some serious style advice. It turns out she’d been rocking the same grey shawl for the last 20 years. Shocking! But worry not, darlings, I got her a fabulous pink shawl with pearl trim. Naturally.

Then there's the most exciting news... remember how I said I wanted to bring pink tutus to every planet in the universe? Well, the "World Tutu Association" - a brilliant group that funds tutu-related projects - heard my call and asked me to do a ballet performance right here on Earth! It's my first time performing in years, and my nerves are totally in a spin.

And what about the audience? Well, let’s just say I'm not just performing for my granny's garden club, my darlings! We're talking The Royal Opera House! The legendary London theatre, with it's grandeur and its chandeliers.

Don’t tell my spacesuit, but I was so excited that I may have made a very slight trip to Selfridges earlier today to find the perfect new tutu for this very special performance. Naturally it’s pink, darling. And it’s a custom design. (Don't worry, I'll definitely be posting photos later!)

Speaking of London…oh, darlings! You have to visit. Even if you just pop by for a day, you must experience the iconic Buckingham Palace, ride on a red double-decker bus and maybe even go shopping on Oxford Street!

London has this really special energy. I’m sure there’s something in the air, or perhaps it’s just that the entire city feels like it's constantly wearing a sparkly tiara. Who knows, darling?

Oh! Before I forget, did I tell you I’ve started working with a fabulous fashion designer* from Derbyshire? She’s so talented! We’ve been creating completely new styles that use materials inspired by my space adventures. We call it the **‘Cosmic Couture Collection’! The pieces are incredible! I can't wait for you to see them.

I think we need to hold a little fashion show, don't you? It would be fabulous to see our creations on stage here in London. We can do a grand finale in the most dazzling pink tutus imaginable! It’s perfect, darling! What a way to celebrate our pink tutu mission and show off this fabulous new collection!

My schedule here on Earth is packed to the brim with meetings, fashion designing, rehearsal sessions and ballet show planning, but trust me, darlings, my pink vision is fully formed. My time on Earth is going to be fabulous, and this collection is going to change everything… for the better… naturally.

As you all know, my lifelong dream is to make everyone wear a pink tutu, on every planet! My trip to London, The Royal Opera House performance and the Cosmic Couture Collection launch, it’s all part of that fabulous plan.

The future is bright, darling, and it’s absolutely bursting with the glorious, sparkling colours of pink.

Until next week, darlings! Keep shining!

Yours in tulle, Emma x

PS. This Wednesday, June 15th, marks a very important date for Earth! Queen Victoria was born on June 24th, 1819. It's a special moment in the fashion history of our planet! Queen Victoria, known for her amazing gowns and her beautiful royal tiaras, ruled during the reign of the crinoline and bustle fashion era. Now that’s a historical event! So much glamour and so very stylish. You see, dear darlings, fashion has always been inspired by royalty.

P.P.S. Make sure you keep checking this blog because I will be posting pictures of everything soon, including lots of my favorite tutu shopping finds, my fabulous fashion creations and sneak peeks from my London shows!
