Pink Tutu World: Blog Post #639 - Ballet on Planet Earth! 🩰🌎✨

Hello my darlings! It’s Wednesday again, which means it’s time for a fresh post on the one and only Pink Tutu World! This week I’m back on dear old Planet Earth after another whirlwind trip across the cosmos. As always, I’ve been absolutely bursting with excitement to tell you all about my adventures – it’s all so inspiring and fabulous!

Firstly, a little update on my grand mission to bring pink tutus to every corner of the universe! My performance on Xylos Prime last week was a total triumph, you see! The audience went wild for my routine, with the most exquisite choreography – we’re talking arabesques in zero gravity! I can’t wait to tell you all about it in detail next week, but the most important takeaway is that the entire audience bought at least one pink tutu each – even the Xylos Prime King himself donned a magnificent creation in the most gorgeous shade of flamingo pink! 👑✨

And what a joy it was to be back on good old Planet Earth! Landing back in my little Derbyshire village felt like the sweetest hug. I confess, I was absolutely famished, and so the first thing I did was head straight to my favourite local bakery – the aroma of freshly baked pastries almost knocked me over. There’s just nothing like a warm scone and a cup of tea after an intergalactic journey, you know? 🥐☕️

I spent the rest of the afternoon browsing through my beloved local charity shop, a veritable haven of treasures. I just love scouring vintage shops, especially for vintage clothing and shoes. You never know what little gems you might find – this time, I unearthed a truly divine 1950s dress, a vibrant floral number that is perfect for an upcoming garden party at the Derbyshire Ballet Guild. Oh, how I do love a good tea party – and they always bring the drama!

Of course, the whole purpose of my return to Planet Earth was to indulge in a few ballet performances! It’s just a fact, I simply adore live theatre, the passion, the artistry, and the sheer joy of seeing something so beautifully crafted come to life right in front of you. So, it was off to Manchester I went, where the ballet company had announced a fabulous show that I just couldn’t miss.

Speaking of fabulously inspiring shows, have you ever considered the evolution of the tutu itself? It’s an extraordinary journey! My latest book (yes, I’m finally putting pen to paper, I know you’ve all been eagerly waiting!) delves into the history of the tutu, starting all the way back with its humble beginnings in the 16th century! Back then, it was much more akin to a dress rather than the featherlight garments we see today. Imagine that!

This show in Manchester explored this exact evolution! They featured different tutus, from the grand, romantic tutus of the 19th century to the more minimalist styles of the modern day, all accompanied by breathtakingly choreographed dances. They really brought to life the spirit of each era! You could practically feel the transition, like turning pages in a history book. The history of the tutu mirrors so much of our own social and artistic evolution, isn’t it fascinating?

Anyway, I must tell you about my latest tutu discovery! I’m so excited to announce my collaboration with a brilliant new designer in the cosmos, she's based in the Andromeda Galaxy, so the shipping has been a tad tricky but well worth it. She makes the most wonderful pink tutu with delicate pearl embroidery that shimmers and twinkles like stardust! Oh, the wonder! Imagine my excitement! I simply can't wait to unveil this dazzling masterpiece at the gala! I’ve been having the most beautiful dreams, envisioning the shimmer, the sway, and the pirouette! I am completely lost in the elegance of it all! It will truly be a statement tutu for the ages!

I’m already feeling inspired by the magic of the theatre! My own performances this month are absolutely shaping up! We’ve got a new show at the Sheffield City Hall on the 25th! That's a lovely little place that holds many memories for me, full of old fashioned charm and with such amazing acoustics. My shows there always seem to be full of local fans who adore the twirls, the bows and the sparkly magic! We’ve also got the grand finale, my personal favorite, in our very own village hall. The little village hall always seems to attract some fantastic dancers and there's always a real sense of community. What can I say? It’s all coming together!

So my lovely darlings, what have you all been up to? I simply can't wait to hear about all of your ballet experiences. Have you been attending any dazzling shows or are you honing your pirouettes at a local class? Perhaps you even found a charming tutu to inspire your next performance! I simply adore hearing about your pink tutu stories, it brings me joy!

Don't forget to join me again next week for another dose of Pink Tutu World! I have a special announcement planned for next Wednesday's blog - you'll never guess where my adventures are taking me! And of course, all will be revealed with a magnificent picture, as always, from your beloved pink-tutu-wearing ballerina. Have a truly enchanting week and always remember: embrace the pink, embrace the twirl, and remember to keep shining! 💖

Yours in sequins and grace,

Emma xoxox
