Hello darlings! Itās Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu World update from your favourite intergalactic ballerina, Emma!
Oh, my goodness, you wonāt believe where Iāve been! My travels have taken me to Planet Earth ā yes, that Planet Earth ā for a little dance adventure! Iāve always been fascinated by Earthās history of ballet, and this trip has truly been a dream come true. I even got to wear my new rose-gold tutu ā isn't that just divine?
Speaking of tutus, did you know that the origins of the tutu go all the way back to the Romantic era in ballet? Imagine, ballerinas floating across the stage in these billowing, white tulle skirts. I absolutely love how they have evolved through the years, with so many different shapes, colours, and embellishments. And, of course, pink is still my absolute favourite!
My Planet Earth escapade started in a place called Derbyshire, a charming little county in England. Now, I donāt know if you know this, but Derbyshire is famous for being the birthplace of the one and only Dame Margot Fonteyn!
Talk about ballet royalty, right? And so elegant! As soon as I landed, I knew I just had to see the Derbyshire Peak District National Park. What an amazing spot! All those dramatic hills, green meadows, and whispering streams! Perfect for getting inspired and taking those fab ballet pics that I know you love so much!
The weather was divine, warm and sunny, but there was something missing... a pink tutu! Of course, I realised. I immediately ordered a delivery to my hotel. After all, one simply cannot explore Planet Earth without the perfect pink accessory!
After that whirlwind of fresh air and breathtaking landscapes, it was time to delve into Earthās ballet scene! And oh, did I tell you that February 18th is the birthday of one of my favourite dancers, the absolutely amazing, Misty Copeland? Well, it was! To celebrate, I decided to see Swan Lake at a renowned theatre called The Royal Opera House. Talk about a treat! I even got to go backstage afterwards. You just canāt beat a good peek behind the curtain!
Speaking of backstage, let me tell you a secret! Earthlings are big on āstreet balletā. It's fascinating! Imagine ballet moves happening on the streets! Imagine tutus being worn in the most unexpected places, blending right in with the urban scenery.
I even tried my hand at a few ballet street performances myself! My favourite moment was when I waltzed along a bustling street, complete with all those cars whizzing past, and everyone just stopped and stared.
To me, the entire Earth experience was truly enchanting. It was like stepping into a ballet class where everything around you felt like a magical stage!
Did I tell you I even got to try the famous Earth delicacy called fish and chips? You must try them! So crispy on the outside, soft on the inside! Itās a must-have while youāre on this incredible planet!
And, to end my trip on a high note, I picked up a new, glittery pink sequined tutu in a quaint little vintage store, right by the Covent Garden in London. You can never have too many tutus, and this one was definitely a catch!
My friends, I urge you to visit Planet Earth! Its rich history, the beautiful scenery, and its ballet-loving community are something quite special. Donāt forget to pack your most fabulous pink tutu and a sprinkle of that enchanting Earth magic!
Well, darlings, I must go. Another adventure awaits! I have my sights set on Planet Jupiter! I'm hoping to dance amongst the swirling clouds and perhaps even wear a tutu made of stardust! Oh, the possibilities! Until next week, don't forget to keep spreading the pink tutu love!
Love and sparkles,
Emma xx
What is Emma wearing?
This week, I am loving this whimsical pastel pink tutu with sparkling diamante details. Itās super lightweight and has the most gorgeous layers of tulle. I teamed it with a silky rose-gold leotard, a fluffy, pastel pink feather boa and, of course, a show-stopping pair of pink ballet flats. My trusty space travel handbag is the perfect accessory for all my ballerina needs, complete with pockets for a lipstick, a ballet journal and of course, some tasty Earth treats like pink macarons and a bottle of pink champagne (it was my birthday, you see)!
Planet Earth Highlights:
- Dame Margot Fonteyn is from Derbyshire, England!
