Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth Post 746

Hello my gorgeous darlings!

It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing space traveller, and I'm so excited to be back on Planet Earth for a little while, bringing you the latest fashion updates from across the cosmos. This week's post is all about my recent trip to, you guessed it, Planet Earth! It was an absolute whirlwind, so let's dive right in.

Back in the Pink, on Planet Earth

Remember that little pink tutu I had custom-made on my last intergalactic fashion trip? The one with the glittering constellations that shimmer like a galaxy? Well, you'll be delighted to know that I finally got to debut it right here on Earth, in the beautiful city of Derby, where I hail from. You'd think I was a pop star coming home, all the paparazzi snapping my every move (not to mention, of course, all those wonderful tutus). It's great to be back in the county I grew up in, surrounded by friendly faces and a real sense of community - though it must be said, Planet Earth still has some work to do when it comes to adopting the pink tutu trend… wink wink.

Anyway, this trip has been jam-packed. As usual, the highlight has been ballet. It wouldn't be a trip back to Planet Earth without a visit to The Royal Ballet in Covent Garden. I mean, how can you resist a performance like 'Swan Lake', with all the dramatic tulle and dramatic love stories. Tutus! Drama! Romantic plots! It doesn't get much better than that, darling. I particularly enjoyed watching the ballet from a Box, perched amongst other high-society members. We sipped champagne, talked about costumes, and of course, compared tutus - because you just can't keep a good ballerina away from tutus, can you?

But of course, it wasn't all tutu-and-tulle. I did, however, manage to fit in some other quintessentially British activities, like afternoon tea in Harrods with a few old pals, a visit to the newly opened ‘British Music Experience’ at the O2 and, of course, some epic shopping in the West End. Honestly, the shops here are such a stark contrast to those found in my more eccentric interstellar travels! Lots of muted colours, little lace, and not as many feathers and fur. You all have to come with me on a trip to a planet like Arcturus 9 next time – I have this one shop that specialises in clothing made with star-dust! I think you’d adore it!

But while Earth's fashion may lack the outlandish charm of other planets, it definitely has some strong points. My top fashion tip for you earthlings? Don’t underestimate the power of pink! Yes, pink is truly having a moment in the universe - it’s playful, vibrant, and ultimately makes everyone feel happier, more carefree and – let's face it – just plain adorable. Who doesn't love a bit of pink in their life? And trust me, even the most serious fashion icons out there are embracing it – especially the tutus, which is great news, my lovelies. I’ve seen a whole resurgence in tulle, and it’s truly divine. Just wait until I show you some of the amazing ensembles I've discovered on my latest space travels.

Now, to continue my planet-hopping itinerary, it's time to get back into my ship, fuel up on some interstellar stardust, and zoom on over to another distant planet, ready for some fresh sartorial adventures. Stay tuned, because I'm already getting a strong feeling that it will be… spectacular!

In the meantime, you can follow my journey through my weekly blog, find me on www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday! Until next week, my lovely readers, embrace the pink, wear a tutu with pride, and always, ALWAYS, be glamorous!

Fashion Faves of the Week:

As for what I wore on Planet Earth this week, let me tell you…

For My Arrival: I landed back on earth in style! A shockingly bright pink, double-layered tutu, fashioned with custom made sequin swirls (inspired by the constellations on the planet Zargon – they’ve amazing sequins there). My heels? Sparkling silver, to reflect my excitement to be back home.

Ballet at Covent Garden: Well, this required a proper ballerina look. A traditional, pale pink, tulle skirt with intricate, black satin appliqué and the biggest, most decadent bows you've ever seen. It was, truly, exquisite! For the evening, I chose a gorgeous vintage chiffon blouse with sparkling embroidery that I got on a last-minute shopping spree, which matched my black sparkling velvet slippers. It made for the most stunning and feminine contrast to my traditional pink tutu! Of course, I couldn't go to the theatre without a sparkly pink bag, full of ballet-worthy, glitzy makeup!

Tea at Harrods: To stay a bit more on the sophisticated side during this delightful afternoon, I kept it sleek and classy in my favourite pink pencil skirt paired with a soft lilac top. And who needs jewelry when your own tutu already acts as a masterpiece!

West End Shopping: Because a trip to London can’t be complete without a bit of retail therapy, I put on a simple pink jersey maxi dress, with cute little pink embellishments all around the collar, hem and even the straps! A great piece to throw on and dance the day away in (or dance the day away with those shop assistants, which is, arguably, much the same).

Planet Earth Trivia

Do you know your pink tutu facts, darlings?
